Fun fact, playing in undocked mode saves at least 5-6 minutes cause of lag. 😂

@@PulseEffects Yeah, that is insane, especially in speedrunning time. Laggy Lake and Lagtree thicket are pretty much unplayable in docked mode. It does feel like the fairy area kinda got better after the first patch because i don't notice the slowdown there as much after the patch but the patch didn't do any performance improvement. So, it is probably placebo.

Crazy how many moves Meowscarada gets, and how it can work on the physical and special side. Its flexibility made the ideas for this category flow really fast for a few days - love it when the speedrun community gets in the zone like that! Didn't make it easy for people who wanted a stable route, though (sorry for all the starter resets you had to do, Pulse :P) Love what you're doing with this style of video!

It's funny how, despite probably being the least popular of the three starter types, the grass starters have recently been soooooo powerful. In addition to Meowscarada being a meta-defining attacker in Gen 9 Series 1 and very strong in Smogon singles, we just came *off a gen whose competitive environment was massively shaped by Rillaboom and Venusaur (obv not a new mon but still). Grass be blastin'.

You must play mainly doubles because Libero Rabbit was obnoxious in singles OU. Much more so than Rillaboom (who was still good). Only SV and RBY are imo the gens where the grass starter is the best

I checked out your channel while I left the video playing in the background and found that your videos have been doing extremely good with 100K views+ as of late. My favorite part of Scarlet and violet runs, is the return of BLJ. It's SO funny to me that Nintendo allowed for almost the exact same glitch from MARIO 64 to return in a Pokemon game almost...what 20 years later or something like that? It's hilarious.

Do you think it could be possible to cut out some of the greedent RNG by using an X def instead of an X atk on the second turn? That way you could ensure you survive another body slam, and it will put you into overgrow range. Is that plus a x2 atk boost not enough?

My first file i picked fuecoco and got nowhere after i evolved him into sleledirge. Picked weed kitty in a second file and meowscarada is easily the best and most enjoyable starter i ever used. Meowscarada is definitely the best starter.

Yo, great video! One question- does super glide and backwards jumping up walls count as glitchless? And do you think these things will be updated in the performance patch that’s coming? Super Glide is counted as a glitch, but BLJ is counted as an exploit at worst. I fully expect the glide glitch to go away, but I'd be surprised if they got rid of BLJs.

In absolute simplest terms. Super gliding will be patched because it’s much easier to remove then BLJs. To remove them you’d have to really examine and probably change the entire *x*-idon movement mechanics.

You mentioned a couple times that the run can have some RNG elements because of Paralyze/Confusion. Is there any possible way to pick up a covert cloak when you're buying your X items? There's apparently one on the ground in Montnevera but I imagine that fucks up way too much pathing to be an option.

It has a really fast move animation. Since we're forced to keep animations on in Sc/Vi speedruns, a lot of the routing is based around using moves that can not only KO Pokémon easily, but also save time simply through the animation length.
