EPCOT is widely known as the place to be for good eats in Walt Disney World. From festivals to World Showcase, there is an overwhelming amount of choices! Over the years San Angel Inn Restaurante in Mexico has been…inconsistent. Fabulous sometimes, mediocre others - but have things changed? When Molly said plastic cheese, it gave me a flashback to AJ at DFB always talking about plastic cheese. We need a crossover with Molly and AJ discussing the best liquidy, plasticy cheese at Disney. Because I also love liquidy, plasticy cheese.

We ate there our last trip in October. Even though the reviews hadn’t been great it was one of the last places Disney we hadn’t eaten. We waited a little longer so we could be seated next to the waterway. My son was ok with that because he went on the ride while waiting. My wife and I both got the enchiladas which were really good. Overall we were really happy we gave it a shot. The temp was also in the 90s so being from Maine the AC and dark lighting was very welcome in the middle of the day.

Back in the day we loved San Angel Inn. They had an entre called Huachinango which was a red snapper dish that was delicioso!! Glad to hear they are improving again....maybe they will bring it back....🤞

We ate here the first time in ‘08 and enjoyed it. Been back 3-4 times since and never had a bad meal. The atmosphere is great as well.

Does anyone remember the old travel show called something like $20 a day? I think it would be cool to do some episodes based on that around the parks....fun combinations of breakfast, lunch, and dinner (and maybe snacks) with a set budget in each park.

Molly I'm glad you enjoyed your meal and overall experience at San Angel Inn inside the Pyramid at the Mexico Pavilion at Epcot. While I was a Lobby Concierge Castmember, we were invited to dine at La Hacienda de San Angel prior to its official opening. Located on the World Showcase Lagoon, with an excellent view of evening Fireworks, La Hacienda San Angel was inspired by the home of the great Mexican artist Frida Kahlo. I believe that it is only open in the evening. I would like very much if you would please check it out and give us your review. Since the front door of La Hacienda de San Angel is closed during the day, most Guests walk past the building without ever knowing what's inside. Thanks again Molly.

My husband and I are looking forward to festival food on our upcoming trip, but I made reservations here to have a place for my kids to sit down out of the heat. I wasn’t sure I made the right decision until Molly’s review. Now I’m looking forward to it! 🥰

We enjoyed it very much on our trip in January. It was our first restaurant at WDW and we loved the atmosphere. We ordered the guacamole and it came with tostadas plus chicharrones with Valentina sauce (which was a an awesome surprise). I also had the tacos and liked them very much. We ordered a flight of margaritas and was offered a to go cup when we couldn’t finish them. Out of the three we visited, this was our favorite. 😃

Nice revisit to the San Angel Inn. Both that and Teppen Edo at the Japan Showcase have always been my favorite World Showcase full-service restaurants!

I’ve always wondered about this restaurant. The Mexican pavilion is one of my faves in World Showcase, and every time I go ride Gran Fiesta Tour, I get curious about how good San Angel actually is. Your video won me over. I may have to try it next time

I ate here in September 2021 with a friend and it was by far the worst meal we have ever had on Disney property. We both got the tacos de ribeye and could barely chew through the ribeye meat. Glad Molly had a different experience, but I'm inclined to believe this restaurant is still inconsistent.

I’ve eaten there in the past month…and October. Raw crunchy roasted potatoes-took the dish back but did a no no and reheated same plate. I love the atmosphere…and good service save my last experience but the consistency will keep it off the list for the foreseeable future. Too many good places that are in or next to Epcot to avoid the gamble of San Angel. They own Maya Grill at Coronado and they are both good and consistentl.

On a recent trip to Epcot my wife and I visited the Mexican Pavilion. She noticed San Angel restaurant and really wanted to try it. Unfortunately, there was a long wait for a table and people were harassing the cast member because the place was literally full. When we walked up to the cast member he asked if we had a reservation to which I said "yes". My wife's mouth dropped open as she had no idea that I planned to take her to the particular restaurant. so long story short we were able to by pass the entire line with some very dirty looks from some. I personally recommend reservations for all sit down places at any Orlando park. Always better to be have it and not need it!

I always wondered what this restaurant was called! We went to WDW when I was a kid in the nineties, and the two restaurants I remember eating at were San Angel and the one with the aquarium!

We had dinner there May 18th this year. Great service wonderful food. We always make reservations here each time we visit EPCOT.

We ate there a couple weeks ago and enjoyed it. In fact we ate at Skipper Canteens the day before! Both were good! It was also nice to see Molly and Quincy at MK that day. Wish I would have said hi but I didn’t want to interrupt them while they were working.

We are new to the Disney World area, daughter moved to Orlando a year ago, so we’ve now been to WDW twice. We are Disneyland regulars. We really liked this restaurant, the atmosphere was definitely a bonus. It was really expensive for the 4 of us though, especially when you add some drinks 🥴!! Love your reviews!!

Although the atmosphere is way better, I pretty much equate San Angel with Nine Dragons and it would just really rub me the wrong way to pay those prices for food most of us can get just as good at home (if not better). That being said I would probably do the same thing I do with Sci-Fi drive-in and make a late afternoon reservation to get out of the heat and share an appetizer.

I'm not a big Mexican fan, but I've always wanted to eat there at least once cuz it's the closest to Blue Bayou we're gonna get here in Disneyworld.....** laughs **

I've had the Pollo A Las Rajas on multiple trips and it is always delicious! I agree with Molly, it's going to cost more than your local Mexican restaurant but you are going to be eating in a much cooler environment and that costs money.

I was there in 2019 and got pork tacos they were great and I don’t remember if the chips and salsa were free then but I know we got refills of chips and this was my dads favorite restaurant I have many memories going here and recently found an old Mexico menu from this place

Chips & Salsa use to be free, I don't know when they changed but when we went in January they charged us for it. I love this restaurant it really makes me sad they charge for chips and salsa. there is also a charge for refill of chips too.

My kids love the ambiance here. The food wasn’t the best thing we ever ate, but as New Yorker’s, we aren’t ever that impressed with any Disney food. (Sorry!💛 we love it for lots of other reasons though) But for us, the ambiance, ride, and the air conditioning is all we need. It’s really nice to have a restaurant we know we can get a reservation, and not feel like every aspect of our trip is some massive mission to plan. It’s just a fun easy spot. We like to eat here and get desserts in Italy or France. 🌮🇲🇽🥮

I've eaten at the San Angel Inn a couple of times. The first time was very good, while the second time it was a disappointment. The food is above average to good. The atmosphere can't be beat. The service is good, but the one caveat here is as good as the food may be, it is way overpriced. I guess you have to expect that from Disney. Overall, I would give it 6/10.

I love the vibe and I’ve almost always had a great meal here. (Back in like 2015 I saw a table get this GREAT steak and when I went back the next year and ordered it, eh, it was not so much any longer. But otherwise everything has been great!) I feel like the lack of free chipsnsalsa must be pretty recent? I thought we got them free in 2021, maybe I’ve misremembered.

It's been several years since we've eaten here, but I probably won't go back. While the food and the atmosphere were good, as I remember it, the tables were very close together. Since I am in a wheelchair, this made it difficult to maneuver to our table, and embarrassing with everyone staring at us and upset they were being disturbed. There are other, more friendly restaurants in the park.

Last time I went to check in for my reservation it was 30 minutes after the reservation table wasn’t ready and they had no idea when it would be. Didn’t even try to apologize. There were two servers fighting with each other behind the hostess and the lady yelling at another server behind the hostess. I decided to cut bait because I could tell we were going to have a bad meal. We went outside it was the first day of flower and garden and so it was so crowded we couldn’t even get a trashcan to eat off of so we ate french fries off the ground. Great meal. Forget them.

It’s been at least 10 years since I ate there but the last time I did eat there I remember that chips and salsa were free. Unless I’m just hallucinating that I swear they were.

I went once in 2018. I loved the food and atmosphere but it took way too long to get our food. Went as a family of 5 and it took almost 1 hour and a half to get our entrees. The staff were trying to make it up to us by offering free dessert, but we declined because we were almost there for 2 hours in total and just wanted to get back out into the park.

We have always enjoyed the food at San Angel, our problem has always been the service can be hit or miss (more miss than hit) and the tables are so crowded together. I think one of the reasons a lot of people have problems with it, is they are expecting TexMex and it's not. It's closer to true Mexican food (and yes, I've eaten true Mexican food, my son's ex-finance was Mexican and I lived in New Mexico) which some people just aren't used to.

I am not really a fan of Mexican food. My family on the other hand LOVES it! We try to weigh the price and experience with our dining picks. With so many amazing spots to eat in Epcot we don't eat at places that are just meh.

I was there in March 2021 and it wasn’t good, poor quality ingredients and it was seasoned poorly as well. Went back this past March and it was fantastic, better quality food and perfectly seasoned

My table looks messy regardless of what I eat. I try so hard to be tidy, but invariably I drop something or create a bit of a mess. Idk I guess I’m just not a good eater lol.

I have watched Molly and love her tremendously along with her videos, but more recently she talks really fast in her videos and it's very distracting. She provides such great information, but I miss some of what she says and have to go back just to listen again.

This is a restaurant we really want to go to in October. There is a few things I wanna try but sadly contains things I don’t like. Can I ask for them not to be put in the meal? Like the chicken and such? My mums allergic to peppers and I don’t eat chicken.

I'm confused, Molly. I thought if we need to cancel a reservation, we have to do this 24 hrs in advance otherwise we are charged? Are you saying we can cancel the reservation if we get on a waitlist a few hours ahead of time? Or perhaps someone knows the answer to this.

Thanks for the informative video. Curious if you know if the tortilla chips are fried in vegetable oil? Hopefully they use something like beef tallow instead.
