Even when the solution is so simple, they still manage to make a fascinating puzzle box, due to the flawless finish.

This is the puzzle where I would give up on using tricks after 30 minutes of failed attempts and just break it with a sludge hammer.

I was so sure it had to be spun that when you just pulled it out I laughed. For being so simple it's a pretty effective puzzle, only problem is that throwing or shaking it might unintentionally solve it lol.

to be fair theres an indication if you look at the top of the box from the side, those 2 squares sit barely higher than the actual box itself.

Pretty simple and also a bit easy. But what makes it a little difficult is that you cant see the small shape line between the covering and the box

Hmm. Can this really be called a puzzle? no clues to solve, just a very beautifully made box. Maybe it's just me but without any clues (and credit to the creators, the box looks absolutely flawless) it's less solve a puzzle and more randomly guess until it opens?

I just don't get the appeal of that. Is a puzzle really about randomly trying stuff out until something works? Most puzzles at least give you a direction

I saw the seams and gaps but even more noticeable was the discoloration in the wood.

I choose alternative way. I use HAMMER TIME.

It's very expensive but.. That shit is hand made by Japanese master craftsmen. It's not made for everybody, but you have to appreciate the skill, the quality, the beauty of it's simplicity hiding it's complexity. The joinery alone is highly impressive.

How to open this box the American way: 1. Shoot it with everything 2. Explosions 3. Repeat if the first two don't work (If you realized that the box is destroyed remember you made a great explosion and shot a gun for today)

I wouldn't consider "guess and check" alone to be a puzzle. Like, I get guessing and checking is a part of a lot of puzzles, but there's usually some kind of hint guiding you towards what guess you should be making. That's not the case here, you literally just aimlessly do random bullshit until it opens. It's a well-made box, but it's not a puzzle in my eyes.

i don't know this feels kind of cheap. there's no "puzzle" here it's just "blindly grip the box 99 times until you find the 2 correct squares". a puzzle makes you think and can be solved with skill, but there's no thinking or skill involved here, just trying blindly over and over again until you get it. its a trick box at best

These things aren’t puzzles. There’s no logical way to solve them without mashing every possible combination. Nobody would be able to work out to hold the 2 random bits of the box together and pull. This is guesswork and not a puzzle.

I wish I had seen this last month. My daughters Pandora charm would have been perfect in this box.
