Today we are taking a look at the new WLTOYS 144010 Brushless!
Ever since the release of the 144001 which is incredibly popular fans have craved a proper RTR Brushless version and finally WLTOYS have given us what we want!
Today we take a look at what we get in the box followed by a track/dirt test and then a 2s and 3s Speed run to see what this little buggy can do straight out the box!

I normally fly things, this is my first car, but I do like speed! The radio that comes with this is a bit simplistic, I put a different (Frsky) receiver in, and now use my Taranis "stick" radio. That allowed me to put expo and triple rates on the steering (what a difference!) and that "delay" thing isn't actually a delay, the ESC only engages when you are about 10% up on the throttle. I drew a throttle curve to compensate for that, now the throttle is IMMEDIATE. I've also put a heading-hold heli gyro on the steering that I had in my spares box. Amazing review, amazing model. I've already had so much fun just doing 2s "speed runs" up and down my road in the Winter when I can't fly anyway! I also got the 8 quid "Bigfoot" upgrade from ALI, What a difference! With those wide wheels it's almost impossible to roll it sideways. LOTS more grip too, more rubber on the road! And only 8 quid plus postage, WHAT A BARGAIN!

Great video cheers Rik.. I would buy one of these but I already have the EAT-14 which isn't much different. The EAT-14 does suffer from the cogging issues though so fixed that with a v2 motor and 19t pinion.

Is there any other chance, to reset the system? I don't have such a card and can't finde one to buy. Some are posting, that binding with a brushed transmitter will help?!?

Now you see why a lot of us have been saying that Wltoys brushless models blow out the park anything in the budget range , oh and 52mph is not it's max speed , it's 55-60mph with just diff grease and a few changes on the camber and toe .

This little baby is on of my favorites. I already had a 144001 and was going to do a brushless swap then this came out! Bang for the buck its a no brainer as was the original but now it's a steal. Not to mention you can get rid of the cogging with a program card but it doesn't seem to be as much of a problem as when they first came out. Just checked your channel for the first time watching this video and it was a good review. I hate these rc snobs that think anything wltoys is junk. You have to give praise where it's due.

Thanks for stopping by sheila. couldn't agree more. People are brand snobs and unless it is a well known brand like traxxas, arrma, associated people arent as interested. They forget almost all RC's are made in china anyway! Always liked wltoys as a good entry point into the hobby just a shame they are more expensive now compared to before. Cheers

Great video! Seems like the buggy for me after a few years out of the hobby. Can I ask which 3s battery you used? Or what 2s battery you would upgrade to as the standard capacity seems quite small compared to others

Fully justified lil fuss. The v1 = trash, v2 = an afterthought.. new 144010 = impressive from the start just like the old wltoys 🤷 If a product sucks I'll say haha and stick to my opinion. If they make good cars like this I will promote all day long

HAHa! Got in there quick Rob! Mate they are awesome little cars straight out the box. The diffs are probably not greased properly as we know wltoys always do this but as a package there is very little that compare i think. This and the 901a are my fav budget models of 2022 so far! I have a 104002 on order the new violent! So we will see!!

Loving the videos, always well done and make me rethink which to buy😂. But, which do you reckon is better? WLtoys 144010 or WLtoys 144011? They are the two that I'm thinking about the most and I would really appreciate the opinion from a specialist. Great work.

My 124017 V2 needed upgraded axles, diffs, and center shaft to survive long term. I just ordered a 144001 to avoid that hassle again.

Something was missing from my life... This little nut case. It arrived yesterday after a slow boat from China. Have yet to run it up but will get it out in the morning. BTW guys, Zeee make awesome 3s packs just for these and others like MJX with the smaller trays without sacrificing the punch rates. Great review as always bro thanks. P.S. Have you tried a 27 tooth pinion yet? ;)

Mmm great review as always Ricky 👍 well it certainly does seem really good and sooooo fast geez, I can see that it gonna sell well, only 2 months ago I would of got one but when I get another RC eventually I will start with the ftx dr8 and next team corally radix as I get a better kick outa bigger models I've found, however load's of people will buy into this just on this review and why not it does seem a real blast, will you be getting the violent new 1/10 ? I think many of us will also be interested in that review? Anyway you are the man great reviews and lots of variations which makes your channel so cool, thanks for your upload mate 👍🙏🐱

Swap it out to the V1 blue wheel remote and the delay goes away so it's not the car

The big question is what is pinion size and what motors fits in the motor mount ? I bought machinery to make my own motor mounts holes and pinions and very curious if something changed ! Please ! :-)

Mine actually came with a full length 2s 1500mah battery so I didn't need to move anything. It looks decent enough so hopefully it will be a bit more durable than the old style.

Going to pick mine (er...ours) up tomorrow, thanks for the insights! Probably driving in the garden, I liked the more nobby tires on -010 over the -001 to run on the grass, so to opt for he -010 first as last made sense... I don't quite see how a -001 is a better choice with the close pricing and what you get for the addon?

Great little buggies you’ll enjoy it. No reason to get the 001. It used to be half the price it is today the sadly they increased it. It’s not worth the current price but the 010 is 100%! Enjoy

I bet you have one or probably a bunch, you can try using a surpass Rocket program card, and set the throttle response to 6% so she reacts a bit faster to the trigger, Its not much of a difference but if you already have one then maybe you can try It and see if that helps

I find that quite annoying because then the trigger becomes very sensitive. My new esc Ive put in my 104001 made my dumbo transmitter have a very sensitive trigger, sometimes it wants to drive on its own because of that.

@@epicmemechannel I meant for a stock out of the box car, you need to check if the throttle trim on your transmiter Is set to 0 otherwise It will move alone, also the stock Esc comes set to 9% if Its to responsive for you, then you can set It on 12% instead of 6%

the 124017 has a v2 and got rid of the cogging that car might be worth checking out!😊 Plus i found one for just 115$

Yes and it is out the box even faster for some reason as the 144001 v2 version. Besides beeing also a higher size (tier) RC. *We have say here;* *124017 V2* is the current *best V2 WLtoys* price2quality2specs. • Simple the stronges RC out of the box. • 144001 v2 still will be faster after upgrades 100% but the 124017 V2 may lack arround 20-30kmh max topspeed [street], but makes it good for beeing way better [Offroad] with a bit more space under the body ofc bc its a higher scale (tier). *~~>* Another Price 2 quality banger is the: *ZD Racing - Pirate 3/ 1:8/ 80kmh/ 4S* • TRUCK/Basher/+Racing > Flat (28cm) and square (54x48cm)/ 1:8/ for arround 300€ Banggood. *ZD Racing BX-8E / 1:8/ 3S* • Buggy, extrem similar to 144001 but 1:8 scale/ for arround 260€, extrem fast(er) in Acc & EndSpeed vs WLtoys. My 144001 upgraded has max speed of 162 kmh. My ZD Pirate 3, with just ESC from 120A to new one with 150A now rund 6S. So this upgraded RC from 80kmh street, up to 110kmh. Realy simple. Enough for that size i can tell ya, its a *Flat big Spider on Crack* making *Backflips* just from the stand *STOCK* before any upgrades 😂 My 4 Best RCs for price2quality i would say are a must. • *144001 V2* (1:14) • *124017 V2* (1:12) best Q2Price high scale RC imo with the BX-8e together. Best car for the money easily. It will destroy my Reflex 14-B around my track and it was over $100 more. Throw on some inexpensive LC racing parts and you are all set.

Seriously if your willing to spend more money buy Team Corally asuga ! I own a number of wiltoys V2. They handle like crap. I hav gone over little jumps and they stop working. There bloody headache of a brand !! Buy Team Corally asuga. The asuga is as tough as nails, Super fast. And excellent handling. Thanks for your review 😊

100% Phil if people have a much larger budget of course there are way better options out there but for a lot of people especially beginners the cost of an asuga and all the relevant items to run it is way beyond what most will spend starting out. That’s where budget rc cars come in until established in the hobby

I guess the video doesnt do it's speed justice, because that 52mph lookes average to me, :S looks about the same speed as my short course truck. wish i had a gps to put on the car to see how fast it is but it feels slow to me. might be the size. i want to upgrade it to give at least 50% more power so it becomes a challenge to drive. RCs with centerdiffs may be going in a straight line with ease but they become so easy to drive that they become boring to drive.

Please make a petition for the factory to sell chassis kits without electronics at very low prices and spare tires without rims at low prices because I buy more (a lot more) durable tires from another factory at 4 € the 4 tires without rims including delivery and this is SHAME on wltoys to not offer that kind of spare parts at least for the super users who drive everyday and talk all the day of the love they have for 144001. The wltoys tires are very nice for dirt track but cost too much money. They would sell a bag of 100 tires without rims I would buy it. They would sell a bag of 5/10 chassis kits I would also buy it ! Already bought 9 144001 when it was really cheap from 52 € without VAT to 80€ including VAT but now prices are crazy.

Minor issue and nothing compared to the severe cogging issues on the v1. Haven't tried myself but people are saying it's a simple fix with a program card. 🤷

Agreed, too fast for a beginner or a youngster. I got the 124017 V2 and it is ludicrous fast. I run it at like 30-40% throttle unless I have a track. Showing off how fast it was to my GF nearly broke my foot.

Hi! Is there another chassis, which fits on this buggy (144001/144010)? Or at least, fits almost? I want to have a little bit more space in the inside, for other componets and a better air circulation. A chassis, with a higher cockpit would be perfect, like on a Eachine ec30b for example. I have no other cars in that size. Can somebody help me please to find such a chassis? Thank's!!
