They didnt change the design, its exactly how they made the wltoys 124017 buggy. I own it and I wish I saw this video before I bought this truck. They both have the exact same design.

I admitted it did better than I thought and it wasn’t a bad car. It’s just not what I wanted or was expecting from JJRC. Their other models are so good, then with this one they went completely unoriginal.

@@DerbyCityRC it came across as though you were looking for anything negative just to say it was crap. From the very start your prospective was that this car was gonna be bad and even though it proved you wrong, you still took jabs at it. It's just an observation - something I noticed - that's all. Generally when going into a review, you wanna be neutral, assess the product for what it is and give a balanced and informative opinion on it, but you were clearly leaning to one side from the get go. Just odd... Anyway, the thing is I have this car as well, I've looked at it briefly, but haven't driven it yet and probably won't for a while thanks to winter really sinking its teeth in lately over here. I also don't know much about what it's a clone of or what association it has with WL Toys or LC Racing, so I'll just be judging it for what it is vs what it costs vs how it performs. Maybe mine will break and fail as you expected yours to, or maybe it will do ok... We'll see. 🤷 I enjoy your videos, even though some of the jokes are probably a bit forced, but it's entertaining and you zoom through the whole unboxing, run and review pretty well. I do wish you'd drop a gear and slow down a tad, but I'm sure those with sort attention spans appreciate the pace more than me. 😎👍

@AussieRCPlayground I definitely took some jabs at it lol. My experience with WL Toys was really bad plastics which is why I didn’t like it in the beginning. Seems it’s more durable than I thought, and still not a bad car but the thing is this isn’t just a similar car to a WL model, it’s the exact car. Only thing they changed was tires and body, but you could already buy this body with a different paint scheme for that WL toys. Plus the listing would not lead you to believe it’s a buggy. I have no reason to point out things for no reason. These are just my thoughts. There’s plenty of cars I like that others don’t. This is constructive back and forth, as it’s helpful to see other’s perspectives so I appreciate this. Glad you like the channel and I’ll tell the jokes to come out less forced 😅 I’m interested to see how you like this one for sure!

I guess a little more context would be that those smaller JJRCs are some of my favorite smaller scales. Extremely durable and even with friction shocks, perform very well. Then, from my own experience, the only WL toys models I’ve had were some of my worst RCs lol. That’s some of where my dissatisfaction is coming from. In WLs defense, the models I have are around 2 years so maybe they’re better now, but the most recent new WL model reviews I’ve seen from other channels were also disappointing. If they’re gonna make a copy, there’s just much better platforms they could have used.

True. My actual WL toys models I’ve had have glass-like plastic. These feel the same but must be better lol Arrma tends to use very rigid plastic that is still good at not breaking, I agree!

That’s good to know. My experience with WL is limited to the 144001 and 144010. I’ve stayed away from them ever since, cuz man those plastic parts are like glass and these look and feel the same. But ya this definitely did better than those 14 models would have done. That’s my problem too. It’s way different than any of jjrc’s other models, it’s not advertised as a buggy (cuz they put truck tires on it I guess), and it’s 100% not original. Even this body with different livery has been done before. I had my hopes high until I studied the pictures closer and then of course once I opened it. There’s rumors of a 1/10 coming from them too. Hopefully it’s different lol

Yes definitely. Exactly what the WL toys it mimics is built for, then they changed the body and put ultra crappy “bashing” tires on it and said “done!” Ya so far I like this as a speed or track platform.

That’s interesting information, thanks. A lot of people are confused about how that works lol. What about things like the WOV and new Redcat being similar and obviously having many of the same parts? I understand no copyright once built in China, but I guess someone built or designed it first, and somehow someone else stole the design? I don’t think WOV is associated with Redcat at all.

@DerbyCityRC It's possible they share information that benefits both parties. For example... Redcat may make a business offer to use their parts. WOV sells them unbranded to Redcat. To be sure about what is my best guess... Some investigation would be nessacery. Perhaps stock news or business articles.

Basically, based on their past releases, this car was underwhelming. Decent for what it is, but underwhelming and not what I was hoping for.

Have you seen my review on the granite? It’s so similar. I also have another video where I put wider arms on the granite like I believe the big rock has. I also added a center differential. Those videos should give you an idea of how the big rock would be I think. The car loves to fly! Yes it did pretty well, but it’s a copy and just not what I expected from JJRC. Otherwise it seems pretty good!

That’s why I was surprised. My WL toys models would have exploded 3 times over. Still a straight copy but maybe they used different materials? I know there’s some WL toys copies that do, but these feel exactly the same.

I think they did too. Rlaarlo definitely had better plastic than the WL when they were using the 1/14 WL platform. Not sure on the Valkyrie yet. I thought I was on their list for their “next basher” but I didn’t get one 😂. Waiting for a response lol

They have fun! Ya I get it. Luckily Banggood takes PayPal for peace of mind plus the one time in 3 years something got lost in the mail, they refunded it. Tracking even showed it was lost in my city.
