This is a common practice of prejudice people once they determine you are a decent (one). And to be clear, even if there were no crime at all in that area involving black youth, he'd bring up another area or county where there is... i hear this type of stuff alots in the states. Non black people with spark up a conversation then immediately go left about (black crime) in some other state or area. Its to the point now, when i begin to engage in conversation with someone i dont know, i let them know out the gate, im not interested in talking about subjects that concern race, religion or politics. I usually get the ( oh well i was just saying hello, have a great day) lol

Ok... Interesting but black man landing their own guns long time, as well as making their own trips to south america not all but some. If a Leader in a community control a contract to build 'box drain' or to keep the community clean, and still 'tax' a percentage from the workers, he just got enough money to cut out the middle man. Finally 3 Trinidadians was arrested in a 'caribbean arms trafficking ring' in florida, all black big bro, the exact details of this can be found on the us embassy T&T site. Naturally our instinct is to defend our brothers but at this point are they 'ALL' our brothers? The evidence suggests that the black criminal element don't see us as their brothers.
@Curtworrell
@Curtworrell Год назад
I see your point. I’m not defending black criminals at all. It’s just very bothersome when it’s presented as if all crimes are committed by blacks when the money behind the crimes are of a different ethnicity. Let’s not forget or try to pretend that crime is a billion dollar industry in and of itself. The question is… Who’s really profiting from this billion dollar industry?
@BlackHeartMan_NoSoul

@@Curtworrell Interesting. True, different races are involved, I'll say this without saying too much. Some people don't have the apetite (belly as we say) for violence, even if it involves theft of their 'stuff' or the loss of their friends. Our willingness to escalate and use extreme violence and use it as our first resort... is strange, at least to me. I've had some experiences that just make me want to go live in the forrest my brother lol.

I grew up in Trinidad as a dougla and can confirm that the Indian population seem to be a lot more racist towards Africans. But I’d also say Indian Trinis are far more open than the Indian population in NY for example. Sharing the same history and culture on the island helps, I like to think we’re making progress but we know how politicians take advantage of this fear during elections.

@RaceCarFriends

Racism has always been big in India including classism aka the Caste System, I'm not surprised, I look forward to the day when humans realize that if you continue to perpetuate hate and try to demonize and target any group of people, that same hate that you dish out will always come right back home to you. For some reason the whole entire world has been on a hate campaign towards people of color for roughly 1,000 years now and it's time that it stopped, it's time for us people of color to first unite and raise ourselves up then hopefully we can all be on an even playing field where we can all respect one another and coexist peacefully.

The pervasive nature of American ideologies and policies have penetrated every single country, including T&T. We were once a country of "Together we aspire, together we achieve," but not anymore. A country that has free education (if you can prove yourself) and has a high percentage of educated people, but no jobs, no discipline, and youth idolizing American social media, has turned into a crime ridden drug hub for the world with rampant corruption and disenfranchised young people. What the man did was wrong. Hopefully it was just the solo cup talking, but honestly almost every single family there knows someone who was senselessly killed and passions are running deep. Of course this is just my opinion as a Trini who has lived abroad most of his life and I may be completely wrong.

The brother told his story and put this video out and asks the question "where are the guns coming from?" I say a hood is a hood is a hood, whether it is in the U.S. or in Trinidad: plagued by drugs, marginal families with poor educations often headed by single women, no parental guidance for kids, babies making babies, guns to protect, drugs, life and limb, forgotten by society and politicians alike, not to mentions those that stay on the straight and narrow and make it move to better neighborhoods. Then the drug and gun importers are making money and the judicial system is making money too. As Marvin Gaye sang "Who really cares?"

If someone kills or robs you with a gun, would the courts prosecute the person that did the crime or the person that sold the gun? If people are being beaten, robbed and killed by a certain demographic how do you expect them not to fear/resent/dislike that demographic?

We have had a gun cabinet in our living room since my first Son was born. I now have 3 sons all adults now. The cabinet was never locked. We're an African American family/clan. They've never touched the weapons except on range days. If there were guns raining from the sky, it doesn't mean you should use them to kill. The government has nothing to do with this.
@Curtworrell
@Curtworrell Год назад
I appreciate your comment. I want to make it clear, this isn’t a gun rights issue. As a matter of fact I believe in the right to have arms. I never mentioned anything about the government. However, I do believe there is a much bigger issue at hand. TT is a very small country. There are children with access to very expensive military grade weapons. My question is how are these weapons getting into the hards of those children? How are they (weapons) getting into the country undetected. What strings are being pulled to allow them into the country. Finally and most importantly, by whom? And why?

You look of mixed heritage but predominantly of African descent. If he was racist he wouldn't have even spoken to you. He's simply and honestly in his own way trying to genuinely put you on your guard. Statistically and factually in reality the majority of violent crime being recorded is majority by the demographic as described. I'm certain many of us who actually live here would generally agree with the Indian man but wonder how you know for sure he was indian. There are multitudes of Trinis of mixed heritage that look more predominantly towards one race or the other?

@azadali4498
@azadali4498 8 месяцев назад
@@anslemmartinnicholas5991 real funny. Pointing the finger is the only way to deal with the problem or your only continuing to fool yourself with false narratives as most Trinidadians don't man up and stand up to issues they lay down pretend like good little children and tell others don't Point fingers. Ask the host from the video who now lives in New York if he hasn't accepted the point finger approach of developed countries and isn't that exactly what he is doing when he pointed the finger at the supposed Indian man. I called out the video host in my comments on how he determined the man to be indian in the first place. No reply.....cause like you he ain't ready yet......that's why he's pointing the finger at the Indian man instead of actually trying to verify if what he said was actually correct or not which it is. While I appreciate from your comment that you may not be able to follow the issues raised and context I still took the time to edify you. I pray that one day my people will grow up.

This gentleman makes a very important point. Find the source of the guns and act on preventing them from entering the Country. This is the first step in dealing with the problem. It's only one part of an out-of-control situation, but REALISTICALLY, there seems to be no enthusiasm from those in charge to do anything about the totally unacceptable state of affairs in Trinidad and Tobago. Lawlessness is a blight on our beautiful islands.
