Meaning of Its Name: "(Al-Insan)" refers to "the human being", known and obligated to worship Allah alone, without any partners.
Reason for Its Naming: The name signifies the general purpose and themes of the Surah.
Other Names: It is known as Surah "Al-Insan", and also called Surah "Hal Ata" and Surah "Ad-Dahr".
General Purpose: To remind humans of the blessing of their creation and their destiny for reflection and contemplation.
Reason for Revelation: It is a Madinan Surah. No authentic narrations have been reported about the reason for its revelation or the revelation of some of its verses.
Virtue:
It is recommended to recite it in the Fajr prayer on Friday. Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: "The Prophet ﷺ used to recite in the Fajr prayer on Friday: ﴿الٓمٓ ١ تَنزِيلُ﴾ (Surah As-Sajda) and ﴿هَلۡ أَتَىٰ عَلَى ٱلۡإِنسَٰنِ﴾ (Surah Al-Insan)". (Reported by Bukhari and Muslim)
Among the similar pairs that the Prophet ﷺ used to recite in prayers, as narrated in the long Hadith of Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him): "The Prophet ﷺ used to recite the similar pairs, two Surahs in one Rak'ah, ...
