This is the point i've been trying to drive with my friends. You can't have subjective judges (refs) in a game where every other commercial is about freaking sports betting. They're making billions on objective plays and rules but some third party entity has the ability to change the game as they see fit and we all know how infallible and totally un-corruptable humans are... Especially when there's money involved....
i'm honestly kinda shocked how blatant the NFL is being with this stuff. I stopped betting on any NFL games a few weeks ago, this reffing is completely out of hand.
there were a lot of people making content calling this out for being one of the biggest trap games where 90%+ of the money was on the Vikings in a no brainer line. something seriously wrong is going on in the nfl
The QB knows it, the defensive player even knows it, and the refs... nah we aint see nuffin bruh! I mean the man's head was nearly 180 degrees from it's appropriate position my dude, what the hell bro. Are the script writers this desperate to knock off the Vikings? lol
I'm a Vikings fan and honestly, we didn't put up the best game, but this just made me furious. I don't care how small of a chance we had to tie the game up, but that play was such an obvious foul that the defender knew IMMEDIATELY he messed up, but the refs just forgot their eyes that day?
And you should…but….maybe not THAT upset 😂 y’all still at 5 & 2 and with being 8 points down…. It’s like a 3% chance you woulda tied , ya know. Not worth ya sleep ❤
the dumb part is, as a rams fan myself, these haven't been the first calls missed in a rams game. in many of the games the rams played this season there have been several different roughing calls that have been missed on both Stafford and the opposing QB, But all around the league there are illegal formation calls like every drive, they are ignoring the QB's safety for dumb reasons
I had a sinking suspicion that ref ball was happening during the second quarter when flags were being thrown left and right at 2nd quarter. Glad I stopped watching, but pissed the Vikings fell victim to it.
THANK YOU. we need more NFL youtubers to start making these quick videos that are unbiased. usually the moment anyone brings up bad reffing, people just call them sore losers. but it's clear when you put all the questionable calls together, you can tell which way the refs were leaning.
Even as a Rams fan, it’s hard to think that it’s a coincidence that so many flags were thrown in our favor. Many of which could have easily gone with no flag and I wouldn’t bat an eye. The no call on the safety after being trigger happy with the flags all game was definitely questionable. I just want to see some wins off the back of some good football being played. Flags are part of the game, but can there at least be some sort of consistency at least
This is how I felt. They throwing way too many flags period. There was one thrown on your center for “holding” and it was soft as hell. There was no hold beyond what you see on every play. Seemed like a makeup call to get the numbers closer to even.
Refball has gotten worse with each season. You can definitely tell the script writers are changing the year in the title then resubmitting their previous drafts...
Priemiership Rugby in the U.K. has a television match official who can direct the referee's attention to a missed or a blown call. In addition, everyone in the stadium and TV audience can hear the dialogue between them as the ref watches the review on the big screen. It's not perfect but far better than baseball and football reviews where the ref/umpire gets to have a private conversation over a call.
The only reason the NFL has this issue is because they choose to not make changes. There are clearly better solutions that will getter more accurate calls, a better overall product, and expedite the game. They're simply choosing to keep it that way because the networks get to sell more commercials during the 5 minute review for an obvious call bumping the value of the media rights. There's no reason a 60 minute game should be over three hours to watch.
When a defender is putting his hands on his helmet because he's waiting for a flag to come flying in, and there's no flag, that is an extra level of bad.
Funny how the 2 most egregious no calls in recent memory both happen to be in favor of the Rams, plenty of bad calls and no-calls to go around but the couple ones that were as obvious as this that the refs missed...both helped the Rams win by a no-call late in the game, this and that PI against New Orleans, sussy af
NFL wants LA to be a football town so badly, but it will never be. I will never forget the 2018 NFC fiasco, we got robbed of a great Superbowl match up.
It probably will be easier to program robots to cheat than to persuade humans. Though if I were the fixers I wouldn't approach a ref asking them to cheat. I would just say hey here's a bunch of money to make just one PI call against this time. All I'm asking. Then I would ask three or four refs the same thing. No deciding games. Just one bad call. Then we'll see how it plays out. Often times it would be the difference.
Yep. It wasn't just the facemask. The refs were extremely obvious about what they were doing over and over to the point where the commentators were saying, "This is the fifth time..." etc.
I will say this, I'm a Packer's fan, and I was rooting for the Vikings to lose, and they most likely were going to with very little time on the clock at the 1 yard line in their own end zone with no timeouts. However when I want them to lose I hate for when no calls like this are the main reason people are talking about as to why. This ref.... oof....
Remember when they made Pass Interference challengeable? I don't think we want to go back to that or permit this with too many penalty types, but maybe you could do something similar with missed or incorrect illegal hands to the face/facemask penalties.
The two PIs and hands to the face on Minnesota were legit. They might get let go if crews let them play a bit, but I've seen all of those calls made before. DL's hand did push up against the face mask. And, in the two PIs, one CB clearly got there early and the other one grabbed the WRs wrist after 5 yards. The hold was a bad call. It looks like they assumed he grabbed the jersey and impeded the receiver, but it looks like he whiffed. It was more of an attempted holding. 😆 I can sort of forgive this one because I've seen calls like this before- especially on OTs reaching out to hold a DE who has beaten them only for the pass rusher to lose his footing before the OT even touched him. I can sort of see why this might be a mistake. Face mask definitely deserves investigation. The ref in the back of the endzone looks like he had a clear view of it. (the other guy looks like a defender was in his view) If I were the league, I would definitely want to know what that ref was looking at because it looks like he saw it and didn't make the call. Incompetence at best and crooked AF at its worst. Either way, not a good look. And, it's not really a judgement call for that flag like the PIs.
I read on the SI website that most of the crew is from California and one or two of them are from families with known venture capital investments in Draft Kings. Interesting....
As a Rams fan... that was egregious. The NFL clearly steers wins and loses through officiating. Having a team in larger market win is helpful to the bottom line
I honestly don't think that that was the main reason the Vikings lost but it was definitely another call that the refs are ignoring and the NFL should do an investigation on refs betting on games
Why not investigated by law enforcement? Anyone remember when Vince McMahon told Congress that his wrestling wasn’t sports, it was sports entertainment, because the wrestling matches followed scripts? Is the NFL going to tell people that the games aren’t 100% legit? There was one MLB ump removed during spring training.
Amazon probably lost a lot of ad money on that missed face-mask. I know I turned off the game as soon as it was clear this safety would count and make the Vikings deficit 2 scores. Millions of other viewers probably did as well -- instead of being tied to their screens for a last-chance drive (which might have taken the game to overtime and added even more time)
I mean if you didn't want to say there was a facemask (there absolutely was) then you could also just say that it looked like a horse collar tackle which is also a penalty. I mean...there's only so many ways a head and body gets turned the way they did during a tackle.
So you are telling me, that had this call been corrected and the face mask would have been called that former jets send off Sam Darnold, who before this year NO ONE on earth would have wanted as their starting qb. He was gonna lead a game winning drive with under 1 minute and a half left and THEN get the two point conversion and then play for overtime and win. That's what we are saying happens if this call is correct? Either that or there is an apparent reffing conspiracy where the Rams were scripted to beat the Vikings who lost their first round draft pick for the year to injury? Look at the stats from 2006. Teams that travel more than 2 time zones to the west are HORRIBLE in those games. Its not a conspiracy. Its having to play a short week game and then be JET LAGGED while playing. Kind of a view chasing take. IF anyone watched the game you would have seen even more missed calls but its so easy to say oh on the very last play that's where the mistake was. everyone wants the next conspiracy theory
There is a hierarchy for calls in the NFL. LA is near the top and firmly in the top 5. Minnesota is in the middle. LA will always be favored by refs against Minnesota. This is just a fact of life, unfortunate as it may be.
I actually think the refs did not see it in real time. I think it was a legit no-see but then the matter falls to the NFL and their sometimes ridiculous approach to rules. Why? Why did not New York intervene and say hey! We saw an obvious missed call! The NFL has proven over and over and over they do not care about what is fair as long as they get as much money out of something as they possibly can. Why do you think they've been pushing the Europe games so much? It is a dis-service to the cities they cheat out of the games but they don't care. That's probably why they added the extra games, so they could get away with playing in Europe and claim they weren't cheating the cities out of anything. Goodall is everything T12 thought he was: and one my very best moments of all nfl was when T12 would not shake hands with Goodall. - Anyway they have all the technology and money in the world to make these games right and they continually turn a blind eye.
They didn’t call the facemask on kyren on the previous drive either which would’ve ended the game, or the holding in the end zone on the Vikings final play. The refs were bad move the fuck on
Thank you everyone wants to cry and say the game was rigged to make them feel better. Refs miss calls all the time, it was bad one but they also missed some on the other side.
This is the point...the refs are CONSISTENTLY bad. The NFL has had plenty of time to address the issue, and has refused to do so. They want bad refereeing. That's enough of a reason to be up in arms.
The NFL has long past the point where this is an optics or integrity issue. At this point, it's time to call a spade a spade. It is blindingly OBVIOUS that the refs are fixing matches. It is OBVIOUS that a league whose major sponsor is a sports betting company has major conflicts of interest when it comes to maintaining a competitive and equitable league. We need to stop making conspiracy theory videos about this...and just start calling the NFL what it obviously is... A variant of the WWE... If they want to sue for libel or slander, then we get out lawyers to force the NFL to actually demonstrate that they are taking the necessary steps to ensure the games aren't being fixed...which, we already know they aren't doing that.
Calls "given to the Rams"....lol. No, Sorry Viqueens fans, you need to suck it up and stop blaming others when you aren't playing well enough to win outright.
BountyGate game of saints v Vikings was WAY worse. And guess what? Saints won the Superbowl after Katrina. What a great story for the NFL. Literally couldn't write it better. If it was possible they would have. It's ALL manipulated. Fake. Stop watching. It's the only answer.
That’s a hilarious take, as a fan of neither the vikes or the rams, I’ve watched enough enough rams to know that it’s not even close to the chiefs, I’ve watched Stafford almost die on wild late hits and almost never see a flag.
@@GhostBruh69420 that’s just a famous bad no call, I don’t think these 2 games can lead you to believe that the rams get calls like the chiefs get, people just say this about every team that gets a favorable call that could affect the outcome of the game. Bad calls are missed in every game, this one is just magnified cause both teams were playing good ball and it was a prime time game.
