Just an idea… If you have leftover brick, you might want them to build you a fire pit in the backyard… We use ours all the time! In the winter for warmth and roasting marshmallows and in the summer to burn limbs, etc.

Absolutely refuse to even walk into a goodwill. They’ve decided ripped and stained Walmart shirts that WM sold for $6.99 should be sold for $10.00. It’s insane and not called for except to pad the CEO’s pockets. Everything is so overpriced and they have no problem putting broken, stained, ripped merchandise on their shelf.

Cubbies for everyone in the mudroom - that's fantastic. A mudroom is definitely going to change the game and make cleanup so much easier. 👍 In my small home, the 10 kiddos track mud and dirt everywhere! 😲

Family member took plastic barrels, lashed them together and built a wood deck on top. We float it around the pond to clean off stuff that floats up , etc. Use a long pole to push it around. Ours is about an 8x10.

My first daughter was also my loudest, haha, and like Belle, she always let me know what she wanted from a very early age. It's a joy to see her come into her own, but I sure miss her cute little phase. It's actually quite amazing to see their personalities so clearly when they are just newborns.

Good morning Sarah…one thing you should look into to help pull our the weeds and algae that grows along the sides of your pond is a pond rake. Your older kiddos can easily take the rake which has a rope attached to it toss it out into the water and use the rope to pull it back to the bank. (Just make sure they tie the rope to something or hold onto the end so the whole thing rope and all doesn’t get tossed into the pond. 😄 It has teeth on both the top and bottom of the rake which will pull out all of the weeds. Once you get the weeds out you can make a pile and either burn them once they dry out or put them in a compost to use for gardens in the future. Also some of the weeds that you have growing up in your pond is good duck food too.

I'm catching up on your channel because I was on vacation My very first cruise I just turned 50. I have two boys and they will be 19 and 20 in November. When we built our home we had a « roof-wetting » ceremony ( something customary in Bermuda where I live). Although much of the house was still yet to be built the significance of having a roof on is significant. To celebrate this phase of the build we do a few things: we host a barbecue for the building team and architect on the property, we invite our pastor to come and say a prayer of blessing, and lastly we « wet the roof » by pouring ( in our case) a bottle of black rum on the roof ( it’s an island thing) . The architect on the day presented ( as custom) our family with an engraved tag that says »roofwetting- and the date) . The empty bottle of of rum is saved and the engraved tag is hung around the mouth of the bottle as a decoration. Most people place it in a cabinet when the house is completed. Do you have any house building traditions?

Time flies so fast ....The kids grow up way too fast.. My grandsons are 13 & 18 and i cant believe it. The 13 year old is a foot taller than me. His momma passed away Aug last year and i was thinking man she would be so proud of both her boys. Our Goodwill Sarah is horribly priced. You can go to Walmart cheaper.... The house is beautiful. we heat with 2 woodstoves.. and our house is 2400 sq ft.. but we put beautiful ceiling vents in that allows the heat to rise to the upper floors where little blowers attach to the upper wall vents spreading the warm air in the bedrooms.. works great

We built a floor to ceiling alcove for our wood burning stove using the leftover brick from our house. I love it and we have cooked on it once out of necessity from a power outage and other times to teach being self sufficient and using the resources available.

The beauty of a new home - you also have the privilege of picking out everything, colors and all to suit yourself, after all you're the one that will live with it daily. I need color in my life (not extreme) so could never go with all neutral and that's how we chose when we built, but we can all have that choice.

I agree Sarah, the Goodwill stores have become over priced 😢 Several addiction treatment facilities down here (South Mississippi) have thrift stores to raise money and their prices are cheaper. I need to tell you Thank You for teaching me several ways to be frugal 🤗. I Love Your Family 🥰

Happy Birthday Belle. About your orange lillies. The little brown bits on them, be VERY careful about the dust or pollen whatever you call it. It will stain EVERYTHING. If it is on anything it is easy to pick up with cello tape ( sticky tape as we in Australia call it.) Love the new house.
