There are now (too) many ways to upgrade the RS3M 2020. You can add extra edge magnets, maglev, and even a magnetic core! But what happens if you do all of these at the same time? Well, we did it, and the results were... fascinating.

I have this exact cube. I bought a maglev rs3m because I liked the regular rs3m so much. I initially only had the added edge magnets in both, and after seeing this video a few months back I decided to get the corner-core upgrade kit for this and the maglev wrm. Unfortunately the plastic these upgrade kits are super flimsy. I ended up having to super glue the core pieces together because 3 out of 4 clips broke. It works amazing and I enjoy the decked out rs3m way more than the wrm version. I LOVE strong magnets and the additional magnets on these fit my over aggressive turning style quite nicely. It’s truly quite a lovely cube. I am super glad I found this video.

I have this minus the core magnets and it feels fantastic. I'd like to try the core kit but $10 is too steep for the materials you get, but I get they have to recoup the mold costs or whatever, hopefully moyu themselves just put things like these in a future cube, it would only be a $2 increase at most if it was just part of the base mold of the core and corner stalks.

RS3M Over 9000 Pounds $35 is classic flagship price... Still cheaper than the 11 M Duo even with setup.

I did recreate this cube, and I'm pleasantly surprised with the results so far. I just got my magnet kits and was planning to try each upgrade combination before deciding what to use, but out of laziness I just installed everything and while it is heavy, the turning is very smooth and pleasant. I'll have to do a bunch of solves to make sure the weight doesn't bother me too much on longer practice sessions. Worst case scenario I'll undo the maglev upgrade to make it lighter, but I absolutely loved the extra stability that the cuber's home core-corner magnet kit provided.

@@lunta8431 The weight doesn't really bother me, but it can be pretty noisy when hitting the table, may be a concern for people practicing on a glass table. Even with the Angstrom Mini Mat being significantly beefier than the SpeedStacks ones, it still makes more noise than when practicing with a lighter cube. But that's just a minor nuisance, this cube is great.

as someone who sub 20ish with a Weilong GTS (from 2016) with added bb's to the corners, centers, inner edges bascially everywhere I could to add weight, stuffed each piece with THICC steel whool and super glued shut, spring swapped with double OG aulongs, and filling the spring well to the brim with lubical black due to the added weight and premium "plush" it added (rip that entire 10cc)... YES I WANT THIS HEAVY MAGNETIC MONSTER

I purchased a maglev for my Son for Christmas and I liked it so much that my mom bought me a stickered 2020. I also have 2 stickerless 2020's and I added the edge magnets to them. I then purchased the edge magnets for my stickered 2020 and I purchased 3 maglev kits and 3 core/corner kits. I now have 2 stickerless 2020s and 1 stickered 2020. My fingers hurt from prying the magnets apart but it is well worth it. I also lubed them with DNM-37. I now have 3 premium cubes for the price of 1 premium cube. I am also thinking about buying a WRM 2021 and adding the extra edge magnets and core/corner kits.

The extra magnets in the edges are going to be uneven in terms of magnet strength when dropped a lot of times. I think the way to fix this is to super glue the magnets

Yep 😂 I built one of these myself.. WARNING ⚠️ don't add to much super glue like I did 😂. I glued two pieces together, I had to buy another rs3m to complete the build. But it was still worth the effort and cost. Haha a bit heavy but I like it. Thanks for the info.

It's too late to save you from buying an extra cube for parts, but you can buy replacement parts for just about anything. With a $9 cube that's only worth it if you combine it with another order to avoid the shipping cost.
