You probably forgot to change out the shift joint at the transmission. The garagistic shifter wont fix slop you have in the rest of the system. You gotta chase all the slop down.
Looks like the play is coming from the other shifting components like the selector joint. Also, our new self centering shifter will feel a lot more tighter in general since it is self centering like the RTD
Reverse lockout is a feature that physically prevents the shifter from being able to select reverse, until the driver pulls a ring on the shifter rod that unlocks the reverse lockout. It’s meant to prevent you from selecting reverse unintentionally. It’s more of a problem with cars where reverse gear is on the right side. Not really necessary in BMWs.
