@@HaibaneRakka571 Yeah, the English VA vor Alya is really good, but other characters, especially in the flashbacks scene with the other Russian students, are kinda bad, but slightly better than the Japanese original
Russian here. Russian in this anime is... Okay I guess. Vladivostok segment is horrible language wise but pretty good at capturing visuals of russian schools (like 20 years ago). Alya has pretty decent russian, swallows some sounds, but I can understand most of it. The best pronunciation was in last episode with "Ty skot/Ты скот". That was very close to native and almost without any accent. After all, some people in Russian community hates this show, some love. For me it is cool to see representation in times like this, so I can forgive some mistakes
Person speaking russian here: All the russian spoken by people other than Alia and Kuze is borderline unintelligible. Yes, they were probably reading this phonetically, maybe listened to a google translate pronunciation like one time. Alia is mostly good, and the rare Kuze-kun couple of words in russian are pretty solid too. Sumire Uesaka, Alia's seiyu, is supposedly fluent in russian. Still, in many cases her pronunciation is very obviously far from how a native would pronounce things. My impression is that not a single native speaker was involved in the voiceover process, otherwise they would point out these issues. Which is a good thing in my books, considering the disgusting foreign policies russia currently has.
Peak. Agree on the spiders tho. My rule is that if it gets in my personal space it dies. If it's bigger than a quarter it dies. If it's smaller than a quarter and not in my personal space, I'll let it rock.
No I would have to disagree with your point on Shohei Ohtani at 8:38 ish. If you are somewhat a fan of baseball in the states, you know of his name or at least people know of him just not like by name. You could describe him and they'd know. I can understand why Americans couldn't remember the name of a foreign person, especially form Japan. Ohtani is, or at least was a very talented MLB player, so much so that a Japanese press would basically follow him everywhere in the states.
i like how everyone proceeds to just acknowledge that yuki is the best character in the show and i'm not even all that into the alabama animes i don't watch those often but even my ass can't deny i like yuki more.
I've only seen a few episodes but Alya is the type of tsundere I've grown to dislike over the years. She's growing on me though, I'm kinda getting Sawachika Eri vibes from School Rumble. Yuki's ratchet ass is wild though, between her and the sister in Nokotan we have some truly unhinged sisters this season. Her english dub VA is going super hard too, I feel like I'm watching Ghost Stories
6:40 It's really bad, only main heroine have tolerable prononciation, but I watched also this scene with english dub - and there Alya seems like voiced almost by native speaker (I heard only 1 mistake when she said "itogOv" instead of "itOgov" - so VA brobably migrated from russian-speaking country at childhood) - and everyone else sounds in that scene worse than japanese original.
