As a USN veteran and father I recognize the pain and emotions that are so apparent in this video! I was deployed for 6 months when my son was born, I was notified of his birth by a Red Cross Telegram (which was of course pre-internet days)! I was not able to see and hold him for the first time until he was 2 weeks old and even now I still feel the pain caused from missing such a important time in my family's life!

Retired 24 Year US Navy Submarine Vet here. The guys that served on Missile Submarines never got to be home when their nine-month term children were born. You had to be there for the Keel laying, but not for the launch. Highest divorce rate in the Navy back in the day... along with an extremely high mortality rate.

USN retired 20 years active duty, the last day i saw my sons was August 6 1999, i did not know it would be my last but due to ex family they made sure i have not seen my sons. I see parents who have never paid child support or support the ex see their children all the time. But for parents who do PAY do not get a chance to see because of LIES from the ex and her parents. I see men and women who see their children after less than a year. I have gone 17 years.
