Depends on what you classify as skill. If you mean getting the souls of the weapons through normal combos and hitting them? I begrudgingly agree. If you mean using the simple GB light/heavy free soul combo then absolutely not in a million years is it skill since he can bait dodges for free GBs by pretending to bash. As for his big finisher attack of 97 damage... his bash becomes all the more threatening so you can either confirm it through getting a gb or a bash. very little skill involved on that end and it's basically a free kill. I love the way Sohei has to build resources and spend them but it appears very much overtuned. There's a reason shugoki's embrace doesn't 1-shot anymore. Fighting as Sohei demands average skill and performance, fighting against Sohei demands nothing less than perfection. This hero by itself could have turned the entire game into a sweatfest if it wasn't already one.

No, it doesn't though😂 I've found him very easy to play and you just have to be a patient player for him to work well.

For real, it was genuinely frustrating me. He literally builds up his light souls for free by spamming that top light opener over and over. I don’t think I’m THAT good of a player but I know for a fact that I couldn’t get away with doing that in my lobbies, I’d get parried to oblivion.

He need to charge his 7 souls And his DMG is trash

He healed sure but he essentially traded all his lost damage. The kit does so little damage the big pay off or a heal is the only thing he has.

You have to land like 12 attacks (of the correct type) before you can even access that move. Most heroes have you dead in that amount of attacks

1 shot kill like the old shugo makes things fun and interesting plus the character is super basic not too hard especially considering all the other characters on the roster

Sohei doesn't even one shot you have to be at full health for him to one shot that's what I've noticed
