Explanation: The only way to defeat Kalmaar and Wojira was for Nya to follow after Nyad (the only person to ever defeat Wojira). Nyad had sacrificed herself by merging with the sea; this is what is happening to Nya. Spoiler: Nya does return in the next season by draining her powers because she remembers the ninja
