@@kayakMike1000don’t forget the silicon ain’t cheap either. The guy is likely into that piece a few hundred bucks in silicon and glue, more if you count the vacuum chamber, 3D printer, and plastic. The way I see it - he’d need to market his stuff as high end luxury art targeted toward people in the top 10% - he’d make a small profit at $400 but might as well go for broke at $2000 if he did try to sell.
I don't usually gravitate toward art like this, but I'm obsessed with this piece. I wish I could have a smaller red and pink version of this. It's gorgeous.
Lots of possibilities, one with blacks, reds, and oranges based off those black hole pictures if you've ever seen them could be good. Could even do regular black on the outside and one of the various meme ultra blacks in the center.
Sitting here with my mouth on the floor!! This is absolutely jaw dropping! Putting resin on the back just made it pop even more! You are brilliant and this piece absolutely 💯% proves it! ❤️❤️❤️
This looks just like an antique glass bowl my mom has, but huge. It was always my favorite piece of art she had in the house, I’d stare into it all the time.
I don’t even wanna imagine how much this would cost. Looks incredible! A blue one going into a white to pale yellow would look cool too. And of course a classic red/orange/yellow So many options!
I worked at a car body shop, I'd really suggest investing into a high percision scale so you know exactly how much of each color you add. I went from using it for cars to also using it for my model kits and resin dice for my friends.
When he said it was even harder to match shades this is all I could think of. A lot of what he said could be solved with some fairly straightforward "work smarter, not harder" solutions.
I have no talents whatsoever and how I wish I could be as talented as you. The sculpture is beautiful beyond words. And all the effort you put into that one piece is unbelievable. And as far as matching the color with each batch, you made it look like you made it all with one batch the color matches so well. I guess my talent would be is that I'm good at making a mess of everything. Maybe one day you can look at my mess and make something beautiful out of it because you are really talented. May you & yours remain safe & healthy.
Amazing! If I could ever afford one, I'd absolutely buy one of your pieces!! I think we'll enjoy watching what you make, if you choose to share with us.
Your art is probably the artform ive been most surprised and amazed by in years. This piece is so geometric and its literally plastic buts its like a kaleidoscope of a succulent, so amazing. Love youe work and hope you are able to keep doing it!
Do they forget? This is why most people don’t pursue artistic careers. A professional cello player typically has an instrument which costs $30,000 at the low end. A guitar player will usually have around $10,000 worth. Paint for an average sized painting can cost hundreds of dollars. Photographers spend thousands a year on camera equipment. I could go on and on but one of the greatest things an artist can learn is to work within their budget and maximize thr quality of work by embracing their limitations and turning them into advantages. Anyone can make great art if they have the idea and the drive. But yes some art takes equipment that is very expensive. But just like being a mechanic, your tools are expensive.
@@thetruthexperimentvery eloquently, yet succinctly put. Ty for giving me courage to keep going with my talent. (I gave up for years bc i saw no purpose as the costs of materials and the price of selling was all a mess.) Do the best you can within your means and only upgrade when there's a profit, reinvest into higher quality mats.
I think people missed how much adding a lip would helped. It shows your skills and intellect. It has a professional look and you reduce your cleanup time by not having so much drip or spillage. And you will save money over time by not having so much waste.
I absolutely hate 90% of resin art simply because it’s just pollution and garbage, but this is actual art that deserves to live forever. Unlike flowers pissed on by resin and sold on marketplace by people who don’t know how to keep a job.
amazing work. hey for people who dont know this is a seriously difficult and expensive art to learn. resin and silicone are both very expensive, and the only way to truly learn is by trial and error.
So beautiful. As a person who sometimes gets excited about an idea and spends a year or more figuring out how to make it work, I’m so excited for you. (I never made anything that arrestingly breathtaking though lol)
At first I'm watching like why are you doing this?! Then at the end it's like oh my gosh I can totally see why you took so much time making this perfect! ❤
You say "maybe it was wishful thinking" when something fails. This was a great success, that sculpture is a phenomenon. I want one in purple and orange
Man 3d printer and all that stuff is definitely up in my list when i move out ... Making beautiful cool stuff like this is definitely a hobby i found in myself...
