This Secret Government Numbers Station Doesn't Shut Up! 

One thing about the Cuban number stations, if you threw a beat underneath them, they'd be a pretty cool track. Something like numbercore, or stationcore maybe?

"Your job is to read these numbers, but please don't be as boring as our other guy." "Don't worry."

The Babbler reads the numbers like someone singing lottery numbers.

I LOVE numbers stations. I want them to come back. I want to hear Taylor Swift sing the Cuban numbers "Cero-uno-dos-cero-cero-nueve..."

I remember seeking and finding these "oddity" stations when I was a kiddo. It was always so magical and scary to discover one.

I like numbers station. They sound so mysterious and makes you imagine about what they could be about.

I feel like Spanish tends to be spoken MUCH quicker than English. Sure, some English speakers speak super quick too (city dwellers, this is actual and not made up lol). I can remember one of my exs telling me that my Spanish was too slow for her and her family to understand ... and all I could say is that theirs' were way too quick for me to even pretend I understood them.

I’m in the US and will be working toward my General soon (currently a Tech KI5COU) and I must say that your videos are very informative and very well read. Im interested to know how you come across all of the history that you provide on these stations and in all your other videos. Where do you go for your research material? I would like to look up some of the history of some of the stations here in the states (if possible). I also liked the video you did of the microwave towers and AT&T infrastructure in NYC. Nice job on that one and in all of your videos!

Well done to Wingray for actually filming the numbers stations TX towers! We get to see the actual number stations antennas. Very impressed Wingray filmed the Cuban numbers station antenna. *Important* I've found out the purpose of numbers stations. It's exactly the same as the popular CH4 countdown game where you get a list of numbers and have to work out how to get to the stated number.

I never heard (or knew of) this one, Lewis, thanks! There have surely been some really strange ones over the decades. It's hard to imagine anyone actually trying to use the information it broadcasted for any meaningful instructions, unless it meant something like, "I'm bored as hell. You?" Cheers! ;-)

Congrats on the start of what I'm sure will be another great season of episodes. I've been listening to number stations on and off since I was a kid in the early 60s, on my father's shortwave radio. These videos have once again rekindled my interest. Thanks for all of your research and hard work!

Radio Havana Cuba on 6000 kHz interferes with many ham operators today & also harmonics on WRMI 9395 & 5850 kHz in North America with their poor transmitters. Some say there jamming but its there poor ancient equipment that is failing.

Oh yes the Havana Gurgle, I remember it very well growing up in Cuba! It jammed Radio Martí’s broadcasting, an anti Castro propaganda radio station transmitting from Miami, Florida. My granny was a hardcore Radio Marti listener and always complained about this darn jammer.

I live in Argentina and I remember hearing these Cuban number stations when I was a kid back in the years 98 or 99. I had no idea they were called number stations. But I was so baffled about them that I even recorded them on cassette tapes and I played them to some of my friends in high school but nobody had any idea of what they were.

The Babbler reminds me of VC01 The Chinese Robot which does the same, reads out numbers very fast.

Been running across numbers stations on 40m. First time just before Christmas. Never heard them on 40. Other ZS reported numbers stations on 20. The one I heard had "This is Hotel" followed by the numbers. Probably not enough info to id it?

The opening sounds was like a modern crap pop song, then followed by what sounds like a maths lesson for kids. Strange stuff going on there 🤔

You still get strange things like this appearing on shortwave, as well as the usual various countries broadcasting over each other with patriotic music.

Picturing some Cuban spy sweating profusely and struggling to write down the message fast enough, wondering why on Earth the DGI hired a damn auctioneer to read the numbers.

I keep HEARING about number stations, but don't think I ever heard one!!! Are they only on certain frequencies?? Being about 1400 miles north of Cuba, should be able to pick THEM up!!!

I've heard the Havana Gurgle before on my multi band radio with just either a wire antenna or the built in one on the radio.

why does the UK not consider the radio spectrum to be "free to listen to?" It's a pretty dumb law that they can arrest you for listening to "secret radio frequencies" It's like arresting a witness to a murder because "the murder was supposed to be secret! you can't look!!!"

Can you show us how to set up a shortwave transceiver station and how to operate it.

In russia there is whole legend about number station UBV-76, and that shit is scary. There always some weird numbers and word like 20 40 46 18 novocoine 30 20 77 11. Still, there is no even photo of the station, which is even more mysterious.

Remember HAARP? No more fields. Towers.

Wow, you can here numbers from these - apart from one, the 'Lincolnshire Poacher', the rest sound like baby talk/babble, I almost get more from the 'Havana Gurgle'
