Fetish is so underrated. She took a risk with that song by not following the basic approach. She could have made a similar video for the song like the one for "can't keep my hands to myself" but instead she made something exceptional.
No really. I wouldnt say im the biggest Selena Gomez stan, but when I found out that song wasn’t her biggest hit it was pretty disappointing. It really is her best song and it suited her. Very under- appreciated for its time.
2017 Selena was just amazing, she should have continued with that concept. Bad Liar and Fetish are unfairly underrated. They are very artsy. I also love The Heart Wants What It Wants, Love You Like a Love Song and Can't Keep My Hands To Myself. But she has MANY other bangers such as ; Come and get it, Slow Down, Who Says, Tell Me, Naturally, A Year Without Rain, Dilemma, etc. Good discography from Pop Princess Sel!
Fetish was a peak for her I swear, I wish she went more in that direction it felt more artistically genuine versus personally genuine if that makes any sense.
This was the only era her music felt “right” in. Everything else she’s ever produced has felt so forced, as if she’s singing songs meant for someone else
That was the type of music that i always thought that would be great for her and her voice! I follow her for years and i really thinks this type of songs are the style that she should do.
I feel like everybody forgot about same old love, shit slammed. I will also always appreciate the Selena Gomez and the scene era. As a kid I went crazy for Naturally and love you like a love song
I love her song Bad Liar. Her other song “back to you” shares the same essence. I wish she would’ve made an album with that style if she wanted to explore that sound.
I agree that Fetish deserved to be a hit but for some reason I think LYTLM really did deserve to be a number 1 hit. Lose You To Love Me was one of the greatest songs by Selena Gomez in my opinion. It symbolizes all the pain, heartbreak, and melancholy that Selena had dealt with due to her toxic on and off relationship with Justin Bieber.
@@xlantboi You have a crush on her. Let you dream! Her heart is yours, yours, yours! Yours, yours, yours! Let you dream! You're the poet in pain, and she's your chain!
@@MK-nn6pc Nope, her performance was beautiful. Whoa, get ready - bam-ba-lam! Whoa, get ready - bam-ba-lam! Whoa, get ready - bam-ba-lam! Get ready to ride, ha ha.
I feel that álbum during the time was so unappreciated. I feel that was the closest we got to it being very mature for her. It’s not to say her current songs aren’t. I just think there hasn’t been a lot of songs where it’s been serious. They always have her sing songs that are very upbeat which is fine, but I like that her revival album was a bit more her.
@@ritaevergreen7234 I loved that album. I think every Selena fan/stan did. That album (and must i say the visuals) were so underrated. I think if she released revival album now it would get more love than back in 2017/2018 era. I hate that they (label and/or team) give her such upbeat songs, mature songs fit her and i think that’s what the fans want. I hate to think that if she does mature songs/album that the fans wouldn’t want to listen anymore but honestly that’s completely false because that was her best era and most could agree. I hope we can get a mature era that we can enjoy and where she’s most comfortable.
@@lindahype7798 yes I can see the album being popular again given the theme and the times now. I feel her label is caught up with making her be attached to anything upbeat because of her status. I love her more indie style songs as well, it suits her very well. I feel people underestimate her voice because it’s soft but I enjoy the texture of her voice. It’s very refreshing coming from the fact most artists are always expected to be doing loud songs.
@@ritaevergreen7234 Agreed. She could change the game if her label or whoever is behind her allows her to. Everyone’s doing loud and upbeat songs, if, given the chance of her doing something different, she could probably change the next new genre of current music then what’s going on now. I feel soft voices should make a comeback,(i.e. Billie eilish, Aaliyah, etc). It can prove soft voices can be just as strong without having to be loud and proud (which are great voices too) but just kind of tired of listening to it all the time.
True but at the same time these are still very short videos and loosing patience after 30 seconds just shows how much our attention span is getting badly damaged by this
@@Amora5503 it makes more sense to explain your entire point and then give analysis. It’s like getting half of the point, a little bit of analysis that doesn’t make sense and then it’s all explained together which just isn’t as good of a format
I honestly and whole heartedly believe that "people can go" should've been her biggest hit because that song hits the right nerve to make everyone cry!
whats REALLY underrated is her spanish ep; ive never really been a selena fan (at least her music, as a person shes an angel) but i heard her ep and its so beautiful her voice in spanish is a WHOLE NOTHER LEVEL. if you speak spanish, or even if you dont, definitely check it out. de una vez (song and music video) absolutely beautiful. her dress in it reminds me of the dress equivalent of a pink drink.
Fetish is a come that randomly gets stuck in my head and I have to listen to it. Bad Liar and Back to You are other ones for me that get stuck in my head
I WHOLEHEARTEDLY AGREE 😭 this song is bop together with Bad Liar. i was hoping she’d release an album with that kind of genre but unfortunately, something came up. i will still support our queen sel. i love her so much
Imo bad liar and back to you ARE ICONIC DUO. LIKE ITS REALLY SOUNDS SO GOOD!! I remember my local tv channel played bad liar MV many times in some music shows♥️
Bad Liar, Fetish and Wolves are literally her best songs. They got her voice sooo well and should’ve been an ERA! If you agree, listen to ring on Rare, it has the same vibe.
I AGREEE I literally still listen to it she sounds amazing and I can’t believe it wasn’t number one everyone I talked to when I came Out hated it like whyyyyyy
fetish is a hit tho 😭 a peak on the Hot 100 doesn't define whether a song was big or not. for example, bam bam by camila cabello peaked at #21 (i think) and left the chart like 2 months ago yet it's still inside the top 100 of the spotify global chart and it's the most streamed song by a female artist this year 💀
Yeah but for the artist like selena Gomez, she should atleast be placed in 1-10 ranking, because that's how popular she is, that's why it is said to be flopped
@@ishapragyanacharya1734 i mean the hot 100 is never a good source of what a hit really is and it shouldn't be seen as something so important. it's better to have a big hit that is heard globally instead of a local song that's barely making any numbers outside of the US. either way, i think fetish reached the top 10 of the charts in several streaming platforms in there so that's pretty good
I honestly think she is sooooo underrated musically. Possibly due to her Disney background? I feel like people don’t expect the talent & write her off too quickly.
