Barrett is the best teacher ever. Total natural. Oh man are you helpful 😊. You could be any type of teacher. Heck you would be an amazing lawyer

How do you adapt your spin if your opponent is also spinning the dink?
@PickleballKitchen
@PickleballKitchen 3 года назад
That's a great question that probably deserves its own video. One thing would be: if you have to defensively short hop a topspin dink, make sure you don't short hop it back to the same topspin forehand area.

AND, if there's topspin on the ball it's more likely to climb forward over the net on net-shots.

In watching pro matches, I don’t see this stroke used for topspin. Do they use mostly under spin?
@PickleballKitchen
@PickleballKitchen 3 года назад
They do use it, but it may not be all the time. One disadvantage to an aggressive topspin dink like that is the angle. If it's too sharp, then you're in ATP territory! Watch the way Lucy Kovalova dinks, you'll see it there.

I wish you would have continued using top spin with your backhand dinks instead of switching the back spin. Let’s all play like BEN JOHNS!

When you say to put the hand down from the shaking hand position that is called “Ulnar Deviation”

Is there a reason you did slice on the backhand and not topspin? I've been curious whether a lot of people hit backhands with slice because it's superior to topspin or because the topspin backhand has a higher degree of difficulty.

You should try changing your grip on these spin shots to enhance them

Ah yes, I forgot to mention that.

Your wife (or helper) is rolling her wrist on some of her dink shots. Do you suggest doing that?

Good advice but pick someone who actually moves their feet…. This isn’t realistic yet with this partner, not a good sense of what it could really be like

Great advice, love the analogies, especially looking at my watch! A little off topic, I'm upgrading to a better paddle as my game improves - I'm looking at the Paddletek Bantam EX - L composite. As a former tennis player I want more topspin and slice, is this paddle a good choice for me? I want to stay around a $100 or under and prefer to purchase made in America. Thank you for your great videos!👍👍

Paddles aren't going to make a huge difference when it comes to slices and so on. Just pick what you're comfortable with and go drill!

Your partner's dinking form is bad. She's using too much wrist (e.g., flipping pancakes with a spatula) which will lead to inconsistency. Just saying...
@billaroundtheglobe

She's obviously trying to give him easy dinks to return for the purpose of educating on camera. Don't be such an a-hole.

Obviously your opponent is of less quality and can't return your dinks.
