I don't understand how it manages to work without risk to the machines and props. Every time I have tried to leave a self-service photo booth, it has been damaged.

Definitely not a mirror booth. You want something compact that you can easily scale. Mr. professional is not tied to any specific monthly subscription Photo Booth app. You can also change out the face plate when you decide to upgrade from one iPad to the next. I don't recommend getting an iPad booth. A lot of business owners are transitioning to DSLR based productions now.
