i try to keep it short and to the point. there are quite a few of these pliers going around my shop the best (others are cheap metal that flexes easy) so far seem to be the lisle brand (made in USA and strong metal) amzn.to/38hd0tv
Used this tool to remove the plastic cover over the tail light assembly in the trunk of our Ford. No damage to the fastener, and it was literally removed in one second. Highly recommended. Thanks for the suggestion!!
Well done and helpful vid, the key is you can reuse the clips. The dealerships often charge a few dollars for each clip. I know there are aftermarket options but this tool seems to be that cat's meow. I have a Lisle clip remover with a rubber fulcrum on the shaft, it will remove them but it destroys the clips at least on Hondas.
Oh man, am I ever glad I found your video! I'm hoping to change the front shocks in my 2007 Silverado 2500HD tomorrow, and those HF push pin pliers should save me a ton of time and aggravation! THANKS!
Wow, that kind of sucked, I have been removing those clips with a screwdriver and wire cutters for years! That tool will save me a BUNCH of time. This is why it is good to subscribe to someone who review and tell us about new tools, thanks AFP, GREAT VIDEO, I will definitely share this on the video I did with the alternator!
Wow those pliers are incredible. Watching you take that whole panel off that fast is nuts. I don't exactly hate those plastic push pins but they are fiddly and take time. I'll have to keep my eyes open next time at HF. I don't recall ever seeing those in the pliers aisle. Though maybe they're over in automotive.
FirworksYT they are in the section with door trim tools, and i believe body repair tools are in that section too.. They really take the frustration out of removing plastic covers.
it's crazy how we are thinking about the same tools at the same time . I been eyeing a door panel pin remover at work for the last two days. I think it's called a cat hook tool. anyways glad you made this vid because I don't know how effective that tool will be on those push pin tools. either way it would save time I.e. frustration buildup. 😀 I got my first VW Jetta 2.0 VIN A waterpump and timing belt tomorrow at 8 am Cali time. I'm hoping everything goes smooth!
ordered the gear wrench set. never again will i struggle for 7 minutes to get one pin out. without these pliers, it was actually discouraging to work on my Kawasaki UTV.
Chuck Nix that's awesome. I often use these for pulling electrical connectors off too. They press that small button on some of the connections nicely without damaging it.
OMG so glad I found this channel. I just went through this on yesterday trying to remove a panel from my van to add insulation. Oh how I wish I would have known about this tool. Going to go out and get one as soon as possible. Thanks...you're a lifesaver with great info.!!👍👍
hey man.. thank goodness u did this video. it was a bitc# changing my 2014 Nissan Maxima headlights, from the wheel well. i broke some of the push pins because they sold me the wrong tool.. ughghhghg.. now I'll buy this tool instead 2 fix the pins.., thanx again.
I've got this from HF and it is a total crap for Honda clips. It pulls the middle pin out and it flies away, leaving the rest in the hole. Went back with a screwdriver to keep my sanity
i need that so i can get the bumper off on my honda civic the only other thing thats a pain in the butt is the allen key bolts I have to spray wd 40 till I get it loose enough
Pal, I hope you will answer the question for md, though it has nothing to do with fixing autos. I've been following an internet search trail which let me to plastic rivets which I might want to use to hold two pieces of thinner and softer material together. The problem is/will be it's not really 'blind' as the inside or back side needs to be smooth and almost flush with the back piece. I'm not sure I am explaining this well at all. .. but if you have any thoughts about this I would be most appreciative of your expertise. Thanks so much, Diane
I know what I'm getting next now at HF lol! I just did a vid on a nice set of kobalt screwdrivers that look like a Mac-co set with the foam Insert! Check it out if you got a min.
Time to take push pins out - 2 minutes Book Time to take push pins out - 30 minutes Customer pays - 30 minutes labour You have to love paying book time to get your car fixed. I wonder if those push pin pliers would be a help at removing rear drum shoe brake springs.
Awesome. Well good luck man. The Hardest part about fixing Nissan is having to deal with how awful and counter intuitive asist is. Other than that it's pretty easy.
