Perch fishing.
In this video i go check out a small pond to try and catch some perch. By the way am I doing these video titles right? Kapooowya!!

Go for it!l Dave. But it’s not always as easy as that. Most places these days you have to really work for a few fish. Unless you know a few secret venues then give me a shout and I’ll come help you catch them all🤣

Perch was the first fish I ever caught, near on 50 years ago. Dad said, “Strike!”, as the float went down. Poor perch ended up in the toe-path hedge behind me! Might have been a tad too eager. They are the wolves of our lakes, rivers, and canals. Love how hard they fight, how visually stunning they are, and, just how much fun they are to catch. Great video, thank you for sharing.

Yes and plenty more people started like you mate. The perch are a truly super fish. I catch too many when I’m over gunned one my gear so not as much fun as they should be. But great when I get the little rods out. Best way to enjoy them

IMO the most beautiful fish. For a still water their colours were stunning. I’d take a days sport like that anytime Paul. Great stuff and I’m glad you got your adrenaline fix. Always a pleasure to watch. Tight lines as always 👍

Cheers Paul. Yeah can’t beat a bit of sport like that and yes they are the best of our fish mate. That pond was pretty clear water and that’s what makes them so well marked.

Great video! About this time last year I caught a perch just over 3lb whilst fishing for pike. 5 inch lure, weedless, 5/0 hook. Next cast, 1 pound fish. Planning a revisit soon.

Mate you have found the sweet spot. Get back and give it some time with the perch lures. But remember they do like the bigger lures too so don’t go too small. I’ve picked up plenty of big perch, like you did, on the pike lures. Buster jerk, squirrely Burt, 19cm savage gear 4 play and so on. They make a nice surprise and usually always 3lb plus

@@riverpiker - yeah I think I’m going to put some time in looking for those big perch. Usually I’m a quantity over quality man, summer wasps in small rivers/brooks is my heaven. Lots of walking, lots of fish 😀 Keep up the good work mate 👍

Yes mate it’s only a few weeks back. Whatever date this video went up it was the week prior to that. 99% of my videos are live within a few weeks. But you are right, most winter perch fishing isn’t like that but I found a little gem of a pond that every man and his dog aren’t fishing. Have a look near you, see what you can find!
