There’s simply no denying it… Bobby makes this channel so epic! I literally had to stop after the 10 second intro, to make this message, because it made every next minute worth watching. Bobby, you are a legend! James, you are a genius for hiring him as an intern! Your channel was one of my favorites before you hired him. But now, it is clearly the best Golf content on RU-vid!
This is my favourite series on RU-vid, would be nice to include price for a round, and also the welcome you receive as a visitor. Friendly members and the way the club welcomes you is one of the biggest ways I rate the enjoyment of a course. It’s not just the course, it’s the whole package. For example I played Goswick this year and the whole experience was amazing.
Great to see Effingham on the channel. I’m a member here and whilst it’s been a tough winter condition wise, it’s drying out and improving quickly. The order of start is great, means there is rarely hold ups. Would have been good to show the new short game area, one of the best in Surrey that’s opening at the end of May.
@@hoppman6649 … actually that’s 287 …. Omg so many people have lost their lives on that stretch from Longmont to Loveland this year … it’s about 6 already … and frankly I’m not sure what the authorities have in mind to stop the carnage on that stretch of speedway 😞
Only at the 9th tee but had to chime in and say you lads are killing me! The 'putter' cam and commentary was hilarious and then the Yorkie bar bit was over the top. I absolutely love this series and look forward to a long video every Sunday. Glad we have so many to look forward to!
Taking it to the ultimate conclusion 18 groups on a shotgun start works but the 19th group cannot start until a hole is clear. And that wont be until a group finishes. You gain a little bit cause in theory every hole is in use (in that somewhat unworkable scenario due to having to walk huge distances to and from "your" first and last holes), but only probably 2hrs a day max. Starting on the 10th first thing is the old member getting a quick solo 9 in before work trick!
I am envious. The UK have grass at their golf courses. I live in South Texas, the brush country. It is pretty desert like here. Summers are HARD on golf courses. Even watering the hell out of them, they can burn up. Long about August, everyone will be picking balls cleanly on hardpan dirt in many areas. Further, the bunkers get hard, very hard. I refuse to drive almost three hours one way to a plush course.
Live in Cincy ,All Bentgrass ,Greens everything is Lush ,Will Brown out some come August-Sept right up the road from Louisville where they just played the PGA,Lush!!! Feel for You !
Great video James.if you ever think of playing in Ireland I would recommend cruit island golf club in Donegal the views are unbelievable and the rates are very good as well
You should let Bobby play along with you two for one of these scramble affairs. It would give him a new perspective, he would most assuredly put you in a position to birdie a couple of holes and it would be hilarious to watch and listen to the three of you going at it. My experience with scrambles with players not of your caliber is that everyone on the team can and will surprise you with an impossible shot, leaving you open mouthed in awe.
What a really great venue with its mixture of length and a premium on placement with what must be the most bunkers in the entire South. Outstanding course in what appeared to be excellent condition. Fine selection of junk food as well.
Please go back to Cocksmoor, have played there in 20 years, a mate of mine used to be at uni up there, so a group of us used to go up to play golf, I'd love to see what it looks like these days. 🤞🏼
hi james my dad dad plays golf and he really looks and enjoys watching these videos on a sunday with you and chris we where both thinking that you could try golf courses in liverpool sherdley park golf course in st helens and lee park in childwall and mersey vally and huyton and prescot golf course and kirby golf course kind regards zena
ticking along nicely, the next 100, i could here the disgust in your voices over them tennis courts, must have been imagining, how many pigeon coupes you could have got on there 😂
You forgot to say its £120 a round , would be nice to know how much the courses are and how they vary in hospitality etc. Great vid so nice to see courses finally drying out and both playing well.
For a while the only time I could play a course was shortly before a league set out so they would start us on the back 9. Because of the layout they would start us on 11 and then play 10 before heading to play the front 9.
Red bull, sky sports, begging for sponsor's was full on again boys lol. If things are that tight I'll be happy to sponsor a video or two. How about half a packet of Lidl cheese straws and my last 3 peanut cookies. Granted the packet has been open a while but they are probably still OK. No need to thank me I'm glad to help .
Strange really, my father was an active member at Effingham for decades. But I never had the opportunity to play there with him. The only time I went there was for his wake! So it feels rather odd to watch you play his course.
I really don't think Chris would take a bite of your sausage roll James. He's a veggie kind of fella. I think he even has a veggie growing yt channel.😊
If your up north give me a shout we’ll get out on the cawder golf course one of the best inland courses up here and 2 to chose from 😊 keep up the good work always a pleasure ❤
No. 1 problem killing golf: That’s easy, it’s the insane belief that a round should take 4 hours. My 84 y/o father plays with his friends in a 4some every week in 3 hours and 20 min. I’m 56 and I walk in 3 hours and ride in 2 hours 10 min. with a partner. Golf is a sport and should be treated like one. If you like to drink, smoke and have a picnic, then for the love of God pull over and let people play through. 4 hours is what professionals take while playing for millions. If you think I’m crazy, then go out and be the first to tee it up and play without messing around, talk while driving to the ball but then get out of the cart take a practice swing and then hit. You’ll be surprised that it will only take you around 2 hours 30 min. For 2 players with 15 handicaps
I agree. Play ready golf. Plan your shot on the way to the ball and move along. LIMIT YOUR SEARCH TO 3 MINUTES! (LOL). Don't snooze, don't dawdle, and for God's sake take more than one club for an uncertain shot. I play 6500+ yards, 18 holes in an hour and a half by myself in a cart (buggy for all y'all), maybe a bit over two if my normal playing partner shows up. Scoring gets better with faster play too.
Bingo! After my round on weekends I would work as a Marshall at the base course while stationed overseas. We actually created a short video, 3 minutes or so, that was mandatory viewing except for members or frequent players that covered ready play and snack bar stops at the turn which helped a great deal. This was especially helpful for tournaments because we would get mostly non golfers playing for charity functions and prior to educating the customers those rounds used to take as much as 6 hours! It was brutal. The only good thing was that they were normally held during duty hours so it was better than being at work.
Why did golfers start wearing huddies? I don’t see the point, you would never hit shots with the hud up and for me look terrible. Do other golfers agree?
