If they hadn’t changed the cheating method in revenge party it DEFINITELY would’ve been R-rated, in the musical it literally has someone come out in the lion costume looking like there were two people boinking inside.

@@honestlyali28 in my youth/teen theater the cast was ages 12-19 we cut censored stop a lot. We changed Oxy to Vodka, then Vodka to champagne, nude pics to pics, and p*rn site to website
I think the major flaws with this movie were all a result of them trying to make the movie more palatable to everyone, so it just ended up pleasing no one. Both musical fans and people who hate musicals ended up disappointed, and in an effort to get a PG13 rating they ended up losing the point of the story to censorship.

This is a hilarious full-circle moment, because the OG movie was GOING to be R-rated, and then they toned it down! 😂 New movie , despite some complaints I have, was a fun ride, and I can happily watch it alongside the OG.

I went to see the movie with my friend. And when we bought the tickets there was a notification that the movie was for 16 and above. I jokingly said to the employee that I’m turning 16 tomorrow is that okay. And he replied “yeah don’t worry you’re with your mom” 😂😂 I can’t. 😂😂😂 I’m 30 and she’s only 5 years older than me😂😂😂😂
Lmaoo I hate when that happens! When we went out to watch the first Ant-Man, the employee didn't want to allow my at the time 19 year old cousin because he was sure that she had a fake ID. A fake ID to watch Ant-Man?? 💀. It was such a thing that we really almost missed the beginning of the movie

Actually I thought this movie was amazing but I think they should’ve had kept the original cast in the first movie in this on it would’ve had made a lot more sense but I also did love the newer cast in this movie because they all did such an amazing job
I gave the movie a solid B- when I saw it. Never as good as the original but in a vacuum, a good entertaining time and nowhere near the trainwreck as some musical adaptations. Just a little bland in comparison.
Those are United States TV ratings my friend. Hence why the ratings are actually TV-14 & TV-MA. Unfortunately the television rating system can be very misleading (i.e on one network tv-14 can show a certain amount of something... network tv is never allowed to show nudity or swearing but uses the same rating system as cable channels such as HBO or Showtime which can show whatever the heck they want. For instance, a program airing on HBO that's rated TV-MA might be too much for even an R rating if it were to be a theatrical release.) Basically all of these ratings are subjective b.s. that mean nothing and tend to depend on what kind of a day the ratings boards are having...so stupid
Jesus Chrsit why did they even MAKE this movie!? There was already the original Mean Girls movie and they changed so much of the musical that it feels stupid to adapt it. What was the point!?!?
I agree that space d*ke can be offensive to people watching the movie…but I feel like that would be a valid reason for Janis to be so mad. Pyro-lez just doesn’t sound as insulting
