Wanted to share that my 10yo daughter LOVES this city. She thinks you're hilarious when you move back and forth between "I like this," ...or "that's stupid,"... or "My phone is talking to me in Spanish".... Keep going on this one for awhile - you're inspiring someone, whether you realize it or not.

those continuous roads under the overpass, they could later turn into express bus stops. set up a ped path to a nearby parking lot and it's a park and ride. :)

You know, sometimes unique situations need unique solutions :D And I think that really strongly applies to interchanges like this. It is actually a very realistic scenario that you often have situations where existing development creates challenges and obstacles that need a unique custom (and sometimes janky) solution to overcome. And maybe it's a bit cliché to say that, but it *does* add character to the build, genuinely ^-^ And anyway, if it works it works :D Very nice detailing too 🌳🌴 I like how the build is developing, enjoying the series 💛 Thank you, much much appreciated 🙌 ALL the best ^-^

i like the laid back vanilla gameplay. it's like a city i would make just screwing around. also this kind of video is great to have on when relaxing, or in the background when gaming or studying, or sleeping :))

I only just learned about the mass frustration with CS:2 and watched your "I'm Done" video. I'm sorry you all experienced that, but for once, being poor /saved/ me from a headache! Yay! I've only been following those who've stuck with CS:1 videos since everyone went ga-ga for the sequel, but if you're making CS:1 vids again, my Saturday morning chill time has been restored! Before the feline apocalypse heaved into view, triggering my allergies, that was one hugely relaxing video. Anyway, I'm hugely enjoying this series. I think with all the foo-fa-rah at the moment it's good to go back to basics for a series and enjoy vanilla CS for what it is. Limitations can force you to rethink how you'd normally do things leading to new ideas in detailing and layouts. For example I really liked what you did around the city entrance sign. Usually I surround them with little plazas and call it a day, but I love-love-loved your little super-dense tree and shrubbery combos flanking it, with the line of street markets. I tend not to densely pack my vegetation or use them much as features, and I aim to fix that off the back of this video. I also actually really liked the irregular shaped parks you made in this one. Hope you continue this series. Not only is it a great beginner guide but it's fun to see you step away from the realistic builds and just doodle. That being said one day I would be intrigued if you stepped out of your California zone and tried to make a British or European city!

I'm so glad that I watch CPP's vods and that you drop into his streams and y'all have such good rapport, otherwise your channel would be still unseen by me. Which is truly a shame because you are such a pleasure to watch play this game. You narrate what you're doing and thinking the way I do, and it drives my partner BONKERS. ❤❤ I took today off off work to play Cities Skylines. The road tools took me a minute to get used to again, but the amount of creativity I can unleash makes my soul happy.

That's what I was looking for: someone who plays like me (ordinary player) = no ultra perfectionism, no ultra tricks, just having fun with the game the way it is, no fancy resources, no supernatural wisdom. Your style "I don't care.. it's my city, I'll do what I want" with a pinch of avant-garde and some imperfections, is so much more interesting than those perfect and impeccable cities that we "poor eternal beginners" simply can't do. Please, when CS2 becomes good to play again, keep using this playing style!!! * a request for help: do you know how I can reduce excess of aliasing (both cs1 and cs2)??? It would be a great help!!! Loving these videos. Very relaxing and fun. Making me want to play again. 2 things: do you have a spotify playlist of music you have on here? If you aren't bulldozing several streets to build a fancy new interchange are you really building a city? I play mostly vanilla myself with just a few QoL mods like Move It, Forest Brush, and Line tool. Node Controller and Network Multitool are just a bit too complicated and over my head when I just wanna build and chill.

Also it's just so nice how easy it is to make those weird blocks actually be decent. Unlike CS2 we have things like Fencing or Zone Adjusting to force zones to face specific directions.

Yup! I mean we used to not have the zoning adjuster tool as a base game feature but there was still fences and it still WORKED unlike paths in CS2 which don't always work

Sometimes we don't need a fancy new interchange. Sometimes just a winky wonky intersection* of an interchange will suffice. Those fancy ones are usually for freeway to freeway junctions anyway. *Biffa, New Tealand

Hahah this is actually a relatively new format for me, I've done a little of this in the past last but way more edited. Much of my older CS1 stuff is super modded timelapse builds but it's nice to change things up a bit.

I have a non-paused comment section. Yay!! 😃🥰 Diana, this city is so cute and I can tell you're having fun with it, I feeling your fun watching it. And it looks alive, too. When it's heavily modded and loaded with assets, CS1 can look almost life-like but still painterly. That's one reason why I don't like CS2. The landscapes tend to look like the ChatGBT AI came up with it and so far all such AI-generated artwork looks cringe. Love this game, I'm looking forward to more episodes. Special request, though: I'd like an alien rock park like Biffa's in his New Tealand city build, not necessarily like it on the ground but with a huge levitating rock, thanks! ☺️

its so funny, before cs2 came out i commented that id play cs1 vanilla to get used to missing features, but honestly cs1 vanilla was more enjoyable to me than cs2

there's dirt roads, pedestrian paths, and roads with bike lanes.

Even inebriated or at least extremely burnt out, it's still easier, more fun, and better-resulting to build in C:S than sober C:S2 😅 This video was very enjoyable but please take care too ❤
