So glad to see it's capability. It is manufactured and sold in India as SP125 and costs around Rupees 100000 on road, this roughly converts to 1100 euros. We have a good range of value for money motorcycles here.

As an Indian I will take a ligher low cc bike over a big bike anyday. I ride my dad's 125cc Honda and have done many trips in the different mountainous regions of north east india (lower Himalayas). My brother owns an interceptor 650 and although I like that bike on the highways but I'd choose my 125cc over it any day. The lightness and simple nature of the bike allows me to go places that I otherwise wouldn't on a big bike. Light is might! ps: my bike is actually a super splendor 125cc, but it was one of the last engines made by Honda after Hero and Honda split in 2011.

@@RideFree317 Exactly. My bike is nominally an ADV but I treat it like a sport tourer (it’s literally named “all roads”). Me and my “fashion accessory” can knock out 1000km by supper time. They can mock us all they want but I paid for 6 gears and I’m going to use them.

As I read comments under motorcycle reviews of 300 - 600+ cc motorcycle reviews, I often see people asking if the motorcycles are big enough to ride across the country. Some people even ask that question about 800 cc motorcycles. When I'm in the mood, I write that there are people who travel around the Earth on bicycles and 49 cc scooters. I've seen fun videos of people traveling long distances on Honda Groms and such.

@@RhysoTV What you did was an adventure. The engine size didn't make it so. In the USA, doing such would be a bigger adventure, because the route would need to be planned to avoid high speed roads. It is true that usually a bigger motorcycle would be more comfortable than a tiny one, with the exception of the Honda Monkey. Everybody who rides those says the seat is the most comfortable seat they've ever had.

I have this bike, and I'll say having an aftermarket exhaust is quite possibly even more useful than a rev gauge. For those who haven't had the experience I'll explain, the stock exhaust makes this bike incredibly quiet, too quiet for some, an aftermarket exhaust will give you much better audible feedback not only on how fast the bike is revving but also how much force is being put in that piston. You'll notice you're going slightly uphill when the revs stay the same but there's a real, deeper thunk sound. That audible feedback also helps with trying to be fuel efficient, I have found after a while with the new exhaust it's easy to find the gear and rpm where the exhaust is quietest most of the noticeable sound is coming from the actual engine and gearbox area rather than the exhaust in the back. Generally, keeping the bike around 30mph/50kmh will give you crazy efficiency. If you don't need acceleration and rear wheel torque you can get an extra tooth sprocket (it's the same as the cb125r, a very specific type front sprocket.) on my bike it ends up making the speedometer read the same as speed traps and gps. Top speed downhill I've reached is 71mph/114kmh, across flat ground, if you have a good road surface that's nice and straight, 65mph/105kmh is possible, and I'm over 100kg/6 foot. Overall one of the best things I can say about this bike is that nothing is terrible. From the tyres it came with from the factory in Italy, to the suspension that always seems too hard or soft, to the footpegs that don't fold and can't be replaced, and the passenger footpegs that flop around and spend most of their time down, when they would be better up... It all just works... I've been up and down rocky/muddy rutts, done 300+ miles in one go on 70mph multi lane roads, ripped along narrow country lanes with potholes and loose road surfaces. It just eats up whatever you put in front of it as long as you approach sensibly and with confidence. I'd love to have the power of a KTM 125 duke, or some of the features off a cb125r or kawasaki 125, or the retro styling of an AJS, but I would never choose any of those over the CB125F if I had to choose a 125 again.

Thanks for a great video. It's nice seeing small bikes getting good reviews. In Australia here we use Honda NBC110's for mail delivery. This is my job, it is almost entirely conducted off-road, and it is amazing how well these little bikes handle it. I own one of these personally, as well as a CT110. Both are great if you want to jump on something to run to the shops. They do lack the excitement of larger bikes, but I recommend everyone have one of these, or a CBF, in the stable. No matter what other bikes you have, you will find lots of reasons to ride the small bike.

Unfortunately there's not a lot of demand for 250cc in Europe. With the way licenses work, people are restricted to either 50cc, or 125cc initially, then with a full licence restricted to 47bhp/35kw or less, then a full unrestricted licence. So naturally people get a 125, then they're eager to get something bigger, often it's something like a cb500. Generally that means skipping 250-400cc since it's either too similar to the 125 or just like a cb500 but with less power. Even honda in the UK has no 250cc road bike offerings currently, closest thing is crf300 or cb300. The only 250 is the crf250 for offroad use.

@@danielbateman6518 Wow Europe sucks sometimes! in my state, 50 multiple-choice questions about traffic law and you can ride a Hyabusa or Tamahawk. (during the day with a helmet and no passenger) You do have to take a road test for your full endorsement if you want to have passengers, in heavy traffic, at night or stop wearing your helmet after a year. You’re really mostly only gonna hurt yourself by riding something you can’t handle and we have a strong enough motorcycle culture, people are usually talked out of that. But also, considering the size of the smallest Harley Davidson engine, you would probably start an armed conflict by even proposing such a law in America…

That said, I envied Europe and Asia getting the CBF125's with the more relaxed, upright seating and simple classic look without all of the plastic fairings. The original bike was the Derbi 125. I have one. They are really nice to ride and look and feel a lot bigger but without the extra weight. Even bigger bikes give you a wave. 😉 As a normally aspirated engine it doesn't like being stood for too long as the e fuels block the jets. It's a pain to remove the carb for cleaning. The Derbi and it's later incarnations ticks all the boxes you mentioned and does it better albeit with the exception of the fuel consumption. It's not much better than my NTV650. 😏 Nevertheless you can have great fun on a 125, it brings back memories of when you started biking. Off-road-ability and low weight(258lb wet) of lower-cc bikes seems pretty common. The new price is not v.low (~6700 MSRP, USD). However, the high mileage/tank(159mpg, 2.8gal), and low turn radius(2.3m, 50.5"wheelbase) appear as particular strengths.

I already had the feeling that this motorcycle should be very good! Consumption is low! I like the the tank size. My "motorbike" has even the lowest consumption i now still. Also Honda, Wave 110i ! Grüsse

I have seen many with their big fucking GS ask for help and realize they have to turn around because they cannot continue the route with their supposed ADV for fear of falling and not being able to lift the bike (some have had to abandon the bike). Many older and untrained people climb the mountains with them and are not aware of what they are doing and that they are exposing themselves to being deceived by the marketing that accompanies the fucking heavy brick they carry. As a good friend says, a heavy ADV is not an adventure bike, it's an nightmare bike. A light motorcycle, a simple motorcycle is what smart people are looking for, and it is used to work on difficult roads. The rest is posturing. I really don't understand why people insist on buying such heavy and long motorcycles. With a Honda CRF250 you are already a god in almost all terrains you can imagine, and it can handle anything you load it with. You don't need 900cc or 1200cc and close to 290kg of weight for the love of God xD On the other hand, the CB 125 is a legend on all continents, for that reason, it is a GREAT motorcycle for all uses, a true ADV. Congratulations for the video and the owner of such a beautiful machine for showing the way.

Mine will usually comfortably get to 80 kmph and you can get to 100 kmph (here in the UK that translates to 50mph and 60mph) in ideal conditions on the flat with no headwind. It is a 2022 model, the only issue I find is that the front suspension bottoms out too easily if going down a steep hill and hitting a bump or pothole whilst using the front brake. At 6ft 2 it is ok for me but I can understand that taller people would probably find it too small.
