Great review of a Gen F HSV. Best ever HSV range IMO. This thing that HSV is importing nowadays is not for me the ZL1 . Will hold onto my Gen F GTS forever.
i still love a good VZ but ya the VF when done right is so so nice! HSV sadly is dead.. the camaro well cool, ya... ain't no competition for this stuff
@@RossReviewsau The Camaro is great with regard to power and sound, but I sat in one at a HSV dealer a year ago and wasnt impressed. Firstly, price tag was $95k. 2nd there was very little window glass (blind spot city). Boot would only fit a mouse and no HUD! (apparently because the front windscreen is so narrow GM decided a HUD just wouldnt work since it would be dead set in the middle of the windscreen). Oh, and no SATNAV (Americans apparently prefer to use their phones instead lol). A HSV VF R8 or LSA beats a Camaro hands down and the big plus is they are Aussie built.
Holden for life! Chevrolet SS owners here in 🇺🇲. Full conversion to the Holden commodore ss redline. Turbo build. Fully forged LS3 with a 7685 precision turbo. Over 1200hp+ on e85. On 93 I asked for a conservative tune for the street around 800whp on 93.
I agree with you Ross about what you said about the tip tronic mode, of how it is better to pull the shifter back to upshift and push the shifter forwards to downshift (likewise in the FG Falcon) as oppose to being the other way around.
yes the ZF (falcon) autos do it the correct way also witch is great! but so many cars i get into do it the wrong way and its so frustrating lol.. glad the aussie's knew what they where doing!
Aussie greats! Holden and Ford really give value for grunt. I'm moving back to Oz in a few weeks and oh Holden V8 here we come lol. I'm in NZ atm and the cost of fuel here and cars has me driving a Leaf right now. First thing we are doing is buying another V8 :)
@@DavidTron63 I'm in the process of applying to come back to Aus through customs lol. When I get there I am going to buy a VF series 2 6.2 SS. Miss the V8 lol.
I'm with u man..I just moved from South Africa to NZ thought I would own a v8 lol well I stuck toy brand Honda so I got odyssey hahaha..one day I want to try falcon or Commodore
If you want to check out a few VL turbos come over to Melbourne maybe post a video at a car meet and get a few drive alongs they happen all the time in Melbourne basically every weekend heaps of sick cars too unbelievable
Just started building a Hz statesman here in Nz got the ls3 with 6spd going in just had cam done waiting for parts from aus now love the holden and I'm watching 👀 for sure great content. 👍
I have the front on my Clubsport but seeing the thumbnail i want now the sides.. the rear ones E-WING do i am not sure.. will wait for this video to see what i think... the cars soooooo hot
@@RossReviewsau Yeah i am getting... so much for waiting for video.. been wanting for a while.. just cant tell the wife... The cars meant to be done... Its never done...
You're exactly right about how you wanna pull back to go up. You don't wanna try and push forward while yr being thrown back. It's the way they do it for wheelchair cars too- pull back fr throttle push forward for brake.
@@CurtisLSA Yeah yeah nar yeah we all know a barra can do 8 sec 1/4 mile with just 2 grand spend on it but they still sounds like Clarance asking to go to the bathroom.
@@RossReviewsau As it continues to do. I live in South Australia and own a VF R8 and though mines a daily driver you see less and less of them around each week as owners garage them. I've heard the prices for some HSV parts have gone nuts too though I'm yet to see it, but its no doubt just a matter of time before they do.
I'm upgrading my HSV VF R8 to a 540Kw package as soon as my Magnusson 2300 supercharger can get here from the States (gotta love the delays created by COVID eh). In the meantime I'm relegated to watching these videos lol
You can’t fit anything smaller to the front of the club sport or maloo. The front brakes won’t allow for it. The smallest that fits on the rear is a 19”.
depends.. if done correctly and with quality parts you prob add some value.. tho doubtful to make the money back from actually fitting them.. most of the time you will lose money tho after modifying any car..
Great Vid Ross i;m from UK. They are Great Cars .i have a VXR8 /Hsv 6.2 only 440 bhp. its a Shame Your Government Shut Holden . Long Live The V8 . Cheers Mate
cheers man.. the thumbnail was taken at liquor barons oakford. n the video shoot was on abernethy rd.. it's like just down the road from the first place
Actually, these cars make about 500-520hp at the crank. Dynoed at 315KW at the wheels (ave) and allow for 17% drive train loss. Comprehensive dyno tests here: m.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wFTZunJ4BMk.html
@@RossReviewsau errr no. HSV GTS 315kw at the wheels = 380kw @ the flywheel, assuming 17% drivetrain loss. HSV claim 430kw at the flywheel for the GTS, thus HSV are overstating the acutal power output by 12%. www.hsv.com.au/see/gts/
Nice Car! Thanks for the Review! I want those SF11’s for my Supercharged E3 GTS! Ross, do you know the widths/offsets front rear? Fitment is perfect 👌🏼
E3 very nice m8 i just filmed one of them 🤫 25th anniversary edition coming soon.. unfortunately the owner wasn't there so i couldnt get all the info.. her instagram is linked in the description im sure she would be happy to let ya know :)
Mate why don't you know what you're talking about? The Gts you drove without the gauges was obviously a Vf2 they didn't come with them you didn't do this car justice what kind of exhaust? What kind of coil overs? what width are those koya wheels? What tyres? What about that body kit? How many kms has she done?
top videography and editing but yes needs a much better reviews, dont fall into the trap of saying guys every five seconds. Reaction faces shouldnt be the main draw card either.
@@BigRoy1979 true that. yeah dont even look at them anymore . Same with EDI i very rarely use it . Except for my next youtube clip coming in a day or so ;)
