such a keyboard on a tablet is really nice actually. Crazy power limits! My new 16 inch ThinkPad is capped at 25 Watts haha :D (but with AMD no problem). AMD version for the tablet would be perfect, yes.

Hi I tested one in Saturn yesterday (Frankfurt) and the FAN WAS LOUD AF!!! 😅 it really put me off so I'll keep the Surface Pro 5 for now (if anybody can replace the battery and screen for me get in contact please). Und dein' Englisch is sickkkkkk!!!! Ich hab dein' Tastatur gesehen broooooo 🤣 ich wohne in Nürburg beim Nürburgring Rennstrecke 🏁 Your English is REALLY good!!! 🙏🏽🩵

This solution is quite attractive and with the current local pricing it's an ideal solution for me, apart from the 16GB. It's too constraining for me. Nontheless, I've been impressed by your video reviews, normally I like to read reviews as they're often easier direct with the information, but you balance it well in the video format. Also! I really think the gap in-between the written review and video review really helps, because post-launch updates may change one mind about the product itself (e.g. bugs or software updates adding new enhancements). How's the connector btw, because on the Flow X13, there were reports of it staying stuck and breaking...

The 16GB sting. Otherwise I might have even considered this one for myself as a travel solution! Thank you for your feedback. Always appreciated. So I used the Flow X13+X16 and now the Z16 for a few weeks. The connector is actually quite solid. I never had any problems with it. The only thing that bothered me is that the cable is quite stiff, making it sometimes inconvenient to place both devices. - Alex

It is fantastic, but I can not comment on your question since I do not have any experience with those kinds of apps. It really depends on how much GPU power you need for those.

Does the noise sample Cyberpunk Turbo 3080 145W also represent the loudness one would get for Turbo GPU full compute work load or would the latter be louder? --robert jasiek

Once in turbo mode, fan noise was very similar between gaming and rendering a video in Resolve or Blender, for example. So it is about the maximum you could expect.

Hi! I saw the very good review on your blog. You tested also with LatencyMon, so, for real time audio applications is not very suitable? Or still acceptable?

In our testing we measures 1474 μs of latency. So it might be a bit tricky. But I do not know about your exact use case. Do you want to use the Z13 as a mobile recording device?

Question: I have the 12900H & 3050ti version, but no XG Mobile. Does the Thunderbolt 4 port support display output? i.e., can I hook it up to a monitor and it will output a display signal? Or do I need the XG Mobile external GPU for that?

You can easily use the TB4 for display outputs. Theoretically, you can also use the second USB-C as a display connection if your screen can deliver power via USB-C.

I have the same issue. I can't charge my flow z13 on the thunderbolt 4 port. I heard that it is a European version problem. @notebook checker do you have any info why that is? Because in America the port let's you charge the device

I was also working on a project while testing this same combo with a A7S3. I do not know what software you are working with, but the XAVC files from the Sony do not run very well on any PC (We use Resolve). So I did proxies anyway for smooth playback and editing. My BlackMagic RAW files ran just fine.

You might be able to, using a Thunderbolt dockingstation or the XG-Mobile. But I only tried the 2-screen setup you have seen in the video!

Do you lose frames in gaming when it's unplugged vs plugged? How bad is the drop?

The power limit for the 3050ti is 35W on battery and while plugged it so performance will be more or less the same. (CPU power is limited tho, so that might still influence your FPS) At 50% batttery the power limit for the GPU is limited to 26W at which point you will get an FPS drop for shure!

I just bought this tablet. The problem for this gaming tablet is that i rarely use this in tablet mode. Not only it's thick and heavy as a tablet and also i block the speaker and fan when i hold the tablet. I can feel hot air blowing on my hands when I am holding it. If i don't have good experience using it as a tablet, why i don't just buy the x13 as a laptop only? I am thinking to return it.

Both are excellent devices in their own rights. I used it regularly as a tablet, but I usually placed it somewhere (watching RU-vid, movies etc.) The X13 is awesome as well, but you will lose out on some CPU performance.

Z13 owner here. Mostly writing for others with this question. You can put your hand through the hole in the stand to use it comfortably as a tablet. Something I do a lot in the office to show stuff. It is not light, though make no mistake. It does work as a bed time "check-work-one-last-time" tablet as well.

You can easily put it flat on your desk. As long as the intake at the top is not blocked, you do not have to worry about thermals!

Can you replace the 16GB RAM to 32Gb? Would it make a difference replace them? I'm not a gamer I just do video editing and photoshop.

Unfortunately, you can not. The 2023 model comes in a special edition with 32 gigs of RAM, which definitely helps a lot with the tasks you mentioned.

I had two 4K monitors connected to it, which worked fine. You just have 2 display connection on the XG mobile itself, so connecting 3 monitors won’t work!

For the i9? I did not test it since the temperature for the CPU hasn't been critical to begin with.

I have a 2022 version of z13. It is so bad. It has reliability issues (keyboard stopped working after 6 months), it dies in 1,5 hours, really buggy. Poor performance for 2k euros.

Though the latter isn't out yet, USB-C ports equipped with Power Delivery 3.1 and USB4 Version 2 makes this device look a lot less attractive and even less future proof. Fingers crossed that the next version of this device and the Surface Pro 10 come equipped with USB-C ports with both PD 3.1 and USB4 V2.

@@NotebookcheckReviews PD and USB4 are existing standards. PD 3.1 and USB4 Version 2 are just recently* announced updates to said existing standards. Their benefits for me and others in similar scenarios: 1. Being able to utilize eGPUs without there being a bottleneck 2. Being able to use a single (non-proprietary) eGPU between my thin and light laptop, the mini-PC stationed on my desk, my PC handheld (as crazy as that is), as well as my next thin and light laptop even though each of these devices are from different manufacturers 3. Being able to lend my eGPU to my good friend when he wants to play a graphically demanding game found on Steam 4. PD 3.1 facilitates being able to keep my portable devices fully charged when using them at their max There are a good number of other scenarios where both PD 3.1 and USB4 Version 2 are useful individually and together. Standardized tech moving forward in it's capabilities is always a good thing.

In our test it was fluctuating between 22W-55W in our stresstest and only under 100% load for both the GPU and the CPU. That is hardly a very common scenario.

@@NotebookcheckReviews I just bought the Z13 with 12700H and RTX 3050. The system is up to date and all new drivers are installed. No matter what game i tried, the GPU is mostly on 100% usage and draw 35w-40w. But the CPU is sitting only on 22w, no matter what game i tried.

Interestingly, it seems like they upgraded their firmware sometime after our review. Then again, the Z13 has to make do with the 100W it gets from the USB-C charger, so this partly explains that behaviour. And you wouldnt get much better gaming performance with higher CPU power levels while gaming. Probably just more noise and heat. I do not think an i7 will limit a 40W RTX 3050 even just running on 22W.

As nice as this is, not really practical for many of us. With its high cost, a better option would be a dedicated laptop and a complimentary tablet. Well that is my take having tasted Windows on a tablet. Though, ASUS has done much better in this form factor than the new Dell version (better stand and keyboard). Battery life and price are deal-breakers IMHO.
