the main question is why should present body go through so many downs in this life for past desires or karma? why cant it end in the that life and body itself. Now i don't even know what i was in the past life and what bad or good i did. Yet i have to face many challenges without questions or by assuming its past life karma. Its not fair to give punishments or challenges to something current body can't even remember or access at the moment..

Beautifully expressed question. The body might change but the Jiva or the individual soul that transmigrates is the same. So even though you might not remember, the samskaras are embedded in your consciousness, so how you think and act right now is a result of your past. If karma could end with the body, then every sinful deed would be forgiven at death, and every meritorious deed would go unrewarded. What I believe is that God's justice is fair and equal to all beings. It is the law of existence itself. Another way of dealing with your question is to ask yourself who is this 'I' who is dealing with past and present Karma. That could help you find answers through introspection. -Kanchi
