tbh my first destroyer run that was successful i was hyped, (this playthrough was in 1.3) when I first discovered terraria, now it’s just “zenith go brrrr” and that’s it every boss in the game is non-existent.
I have 950 hours on pc, but I only got that version of the game in 2018 or so, I’d been playing console since about 2015 I wanna say, and I’m the same as you.
This is one of the weapons that you should try to get like once or twice, and then not worry about it if you don't luck out. Take your shot of RNG, and if it doesn't come through, then just let it be. It also comes with a chance to drop a really good Hamaxe in hardmode, which both looks better and frees up an inventory space.
I've been trying to do this for my fishing only playthrough and the Drippler Cripple is my only good option against the Destroyer. I've been farming for four consecutive days. Help me
I’d say this would be useful if you’re struggling against the destroyer despite having the SF knife yet have beaten every mech boss, that way you can get hallowed armor
I clicked on the thumbnail expecting the drippler crippler I was not disappointed Even in modded, it's one of my favorite weapons And blood moon fishing is a lot of fun imo!!
usually i at least know of the existence of the weapons you talk about, but this time my first thought was that you started making calamity content since i've never even seen this weapon
ahhh man, it's like the Mushroom Spear in 1.2 all over again, when it had 93 dmg without modifiers (Around 110-120 with godly if I remember correctly) and was sold before killing any mech boss for just 30 gold coins, killing it normally (without taking advantage when he is all curled up just when it spawns) with only hitting one segment without him being intertwined it could take you a minute and even much less when doing so and if you did the spawn trick that I mentioned the results were pretty much the same with the Flail in the vid, this brings me back so many memories of not only that but the update itself, thank you man, for the nostalgia and for the tip, Im going to try it as soon as I get in hardmode!
You should do a video on the Dao of Pow!!! Another great early hardmode flail, and far easier to obtain than the Drippler Crippler, only taking a dark shard, a light shard, and seven souls of light and dark each. Its base damage is 100 to the Drippler Crippler's 110, but it also inflicts Confusion, making it useful in claustrophobic underground hardmode situations!
Actually, the chum caster is a fishing rod that can be dropped from blood moon fishing enemies, that also increases the chance to get more fishing enemies significantly. Really useful for these types of grind
I never realized how much I wanted a video to be done on this weapon until you made it. It absolutely carried my melee built from when I got it post mech I believe until close to the end of the game and it would've been even better if I got it pre mech but I got impatient cos blood eels just wouldn't drop it.
In my mage play-through, I tried the bat sceptre for the first time because of your video. I was not disappointed! Thank you for introducing me to all of these fantastic new weapons, my terraria playthroughs feel so much fresher all because of you!
This is literally my favorite melee weapon in the game, I used a few flails pre hard mode and decided I’d go for this. It took a bit of grinding, but I used this weapon for ages. It makes all normal enemies just disappear.
Once it came out it immediately became one of my favourite melee weapons, its name and design, it feels so heavy-hitting too and gives Blood Moon more of a reason to fight
There actually is a more easily obtainable flail known as Dao of Pow. It only needs both the light and dark shards and 7 souls of night and light to craft. While it's not as good on bosses, it's good at keeping groups of enemies or individual targets away from you since it inflicts confusion. And it's especially good when paired with the Power Glove.
honestly the drippler crippler is my go-to weapon for early to mid hardmode, i love the post-1.4 flail gameplay and the crippler makes absolute mincemeat of most enemies, combine that with the debuff stacking that some melee equip and buffs allow and you have a killer weapon. it's a bit of a pain to get and it's not great for a lot of bosses but i enjoy using it so much lol
I always get it when trying to fish for a rarer enemy who is the second strongest fishing bass: Dreadnautilius and its summoning item which is so good that it lasts until new summoning items become available during the lunar events or if you can go for terraprisma... The strongest fishing boss also has an item for summon and he is the Duke fishron.
i absolutely love the DC, its one of my favourite weapons and i always go for it every time i play. you can cheese plantera with it by using minecart rails around here and leave the flail sitting in the middle of the arena, or just tank her with turtle armour. either way its one of my favourite weapons and im happy you showcased it! :)
Dao has less attack and no projectile. It has a slight chance for confusion but more enemies are immune than aren’t. It also requires light and dark deserts and underground farming to get.
your videos are literally perfect for beginners, calming and understanding voice / simple yet good editing, thanks for doing these videos, I recommend reviewing mods/modded items, you deserve more.
The Drippler Crippler is a Hardmode flail that drops from Blood Eels. When used, it will spin around the player and can be thrown outwards to deal very high damage before being pulled back in, as well as firing a projectile doing half of the base damage. Its best modifier is Godly or Demonic. Both modifiers increase the average damage output by the same amount. This weapon has an exceptionally high base damage for an early-Hardmode weapon, making this flail incredibly useful even up to mid-Hardmode. Like all flails, the Drippler Crippler is especially effective at clearing out crowds of enemies or damaging enemies with large hitboxes. The ball projectile of the Drippler Crippler resembles its namesake, the Drippler, with the addition of bony spurs to act as the flail's spikes. Although its name might suggest it, it does not do bonus damage against Dripplers. That said, Dripplers have only 50 life and 14 defense; with any damage bonus at all, even the half damage of a "spin" attack will kill a Drippler in Classic Mode in one hit. The pattern on the chain is always the same and consists of six segments before repeating. The Drippler Crippler is one of three flails that fire additional projectiles, the others being the Flower Pow and the Flairon. Out of these, the Drippler Crippler is the only one that lacks any kind of auto targeting, but it can be obtained the earliest.
I've used it, it's really good and I used it up to plantera when it got replaced by the flower pow as my main flail. But damn getting it took me about 7 blood moons. But now I don't use it really, I just get the shadowflame knife and light discs, and then use them until I get the possessed hatchet and terra blade, which then carries me up to the solar pillar
I like flails because they have high damage and range, and they can be dropped so when they get pulled back it hits enemies around a ledge effectively. I also love spinning them and having a shield against weak enemies.
If you have done Blood Moon fishing in Pre-Hardmode, the eneines might have dropped a Chumcaster, that has 25% fishing power and has double the chance to fish up enemies during a blood moon.
flails in general are an amazing class of melee weapons. They have very high base dmg compared to other melee weapons in progression, piercing *and* ranged dmg capabilities, and are very fun to use! They're a tad scarce, only being slightly more numerous then whips. I'm pretty sure that the range of flails can be increased via the Melee Speed stat, much like spears and shortswords. Actually, I think the reason flails are so cool is how they **feel** to use. They've got a weight to them, releasing your attack button to throw them feels so, so good.
I decided to try this weapon out since you mention it a lot and all I can say is "HOLY SH*T". The feeling of power I got tearing through the mech bosses with it is just 👌🏽
As far as I can tell, the dao of pow is still the superior option in terms of flails. Sure, DC does like, 10 more damage, but the DoP is still far easier to obtain.
During my co op legendary world with my friend, we were having a tough time with mechudsa so we just farmed 2 of the drippler cripplers to get the worm out of the way. One of the reasons we thought of that was because of this video, thank you for saving our sanity.
So I'm currently doing my first playthrough of Terraria ever and I found that I'm really fond of the flails I first got my hands on a base and then I upgraded into a hurtful flaming flailing knife since gotten ahold of the Moon flail (aka blue, dungeon find) and I have recently gotten a better flail from a hell chest and I'm honestly thinking of doing just a flail only run
Before the massive nerf, the Fetid Baghnakhs were the second best weapon in all of early Hardmode (the Daedalus Stormbow pre-nerf was ABSURD). They could obliterate the Destroyer and even do enough damage to Plantera that you could facetank her to death with the right potions and an Ichor Flask.
The chum caster has an increased chance of fishing up blood moon enemies. You should try making a little fishing box like usual, but make sure you have a clean exit and enough space to actually fight the eel and survive.
Probably gonna get this, just for the same reason I build giant mob farms in my other play throughs. Because I want to Finish the game slower, so I can enjoy it for a longer time
I’m so stoked this weapon finally got a video! I was researching melee weapons that are good for destroyer on master mode. Now I get this every play through!
I think all the blood moon weapons are NEAT, but all the enemies are WAY too hard for them to be justified worth getting (except the Vampire Bat staff that thing is nuts). Especially the Blood Thorn (might not be the exact name, going off memory), that has to be one of the most underwhelming magic weapons in the game for progression despite looking really cool
Gotta be honest my main class has been melee and I've been playing for years and with honestly how outclassed by other melee options all the other flails were I ignored them for years even with this new one, but after using it for the first time in my last playthrough I can say with confidence it'll be something I go for every new playthrough from now on
I remember When I first encountered Blood eel, I legit got scared because I was not expecting an enemy from fishing plus it looks kinda disgusting, I got it on my first Blood eel and then I got the Hamaxe after finding out that fishing during blood moon can get you good stuff
There is a special fishing rod that you get fr fishing during the blood moon that increases your chance of fishing up enemies called the chum rod or something
Damn I didn't even know this existed, even though I go through the blood moon event quite often as I'm mainly a summoner I swear I've never seen this thing dropped
To add on the 1/9 chance: "A Blood Moon will only occur if at least one player in the world has more than 120 life, and only on nights when a moon is present (any night except a new moon)." - Terraria Wiki AND you *can* increase your chances of getting a Blood Eel if you fish using the Chum Caster, because it has a special propriety: "Doubles the chances to fish up enemies during a Blood Moon."
Oh hey I commented about this weapon in the last video you listened possibly! Cool stuff and it is indeed an insane weapon for taking out the destroyer but it doesn't do well against single targets And I indeed agree with you this weapon needs a buff in how you obtain it rather than anything Also what's your opinion on 1.4.4 so far? It's gonna release in a week so I think you might wanna redo that terrablade video when comparing it now...
When I did my melee run the fetid bangnads destroyed the destroyer in just a few seconds, the already insane damage must have been hitting multiple segments at a time
Friendly tip: You can actually get the Bloody Tear at a 25% drop rate from any Blood Moon fishing enemy, and at a 50% drop rate from the Dreadnautilus and the Groom It’s a lifesaver, trust me Also the Drippler Crippler is the 2nd highest dmg spun flail in the game, beaten only by the Flower Pow (which is dropped by Plantera)
