In a quiet lane in Sanjaynagar sits an authentic Thai restaurant, all to itself, almost as a well-kept secret from most Bangaloreans. The flavours here are traditional, after all the kitchen is helmed by a Bangkok native, Anna who has been cooking here for the last six years. Thanks to a fortunate twist of fate, we stumbled upon this eatery, me and my good friend, self-trained chef Gautam Krishnankutty, who probably knows Thai cuisine like the back of his hand. Incidentally, he was also perhaps the first chef to give Bangalore a taste of Thai flavours nearly 20 years ago. The flavours here are rustic, wholesome and homely. If you love Thai cuisine, definitely check it out.

This restaurant turned out to be a great discovery. Authentic Thai restaurants are hard to come by in Bangalore. This one looks wholesome, authentic, and at honest prices. Can't wait to check it out.

I had heard story that Chinese food was so much prevalent on streets of Bangkok. (Chinese people were business community of Thailand). In order to counter it the King decided to make Phad Thai compulsory on streets (no other noodle was allowed). Phad Thai with peanuts , Tamarind, rice noodles became distinctly Thai against Chinese food

I stumbled upon this restaurant while walking down on the same lane the day before yesterday. Thereafter, I couldn't resist visiting it for 2 days straight. Also, personally as a Tai Ahom from Assam, I couldn't help but find striking similarities with our authentic Tai Ahom food and their names. Like Gai, Khao, Pla, Nam, Moo etc to name a few. It's exactly the same. Any Tai community person from Northeast India will be able to easily relate to it. And then I stumbled upon this video. Gem of a video. Thank you.

What i like about Asian food is their flash frying of vegetables which comes out so crunchy with good texture. Also the variety of veggies and meat options. Great to have when you want something that is not soggy and mushy like we cook our food.

I've interacted with that lady cook couple of years back when I was working for swiggy as delivery partner and she was as courteous as to you as for us the customer's representative who are taken for granted as slaves, but her respectful made me no complains on the oysters dish that had leaked to the bag as the packing was poor and the nasty smell never left the bag..even now it stinks, zero complains for good people, unlike most of the a$$holes I encountered during my brief history with food delivery job. Having said that in one go, I approve the restaurant and their operators, but have no idea about the kind of food it is, as I never tried anything other than traditional Indian most of my life.

I think you should also check out authentic Korean food from Koin Home, a relatively small and new restaurant in Manipal. It's a pretty good, bit expensive place but its possibly one of the best small authentic foreign cuisine restaurants in the country. I'm sure you'll also meet many more fans in Manipal.

Basic herb in "Phat kaphrao gai" , is Thai holy basil ( Dark tulsi)., which gives it very spicy flavor.

Do like Thai cuisine, except being vegetarian going towards vegan, find it a bit difficult finding veg substitute for fish sauce, fish paste and oyster sauce.
