Hi @DIY Danie! Just wanted to flag that Established Titles has been debated and proven for a while to be a scam, meaning that no land ownership is actually legally recognized by Scotland, and taking this sponsorship might be a bit ethically tricky. Figured I'd raise the concern, in case others were considering purchasing from them.
Haven't watched the makeover yet buuuuuuttt HUGE congrats on the new garage/DIY studio....it's something you've worked hard for and will make a huge difference to your work- just make sure you have stairs that are 'easily' manouverable/add a winch out the window for big projects 😂😂 P.s really doesn't matter that the cabinet was reproduction rather than vintage as it turned out beautifully😊
@@DIYDanie I was thinking that would've made sense because hauling material up and projects down seems problematic. If no freight elevator, how will you handle big projects? Love the bookcase! I think you're brilliant and can't wait to see what you come up with next! XO ❤️
Wow the amount of work that went into the flip is insane, the cabinet looks nothing like it used to! And congrats to you both for the future garage/studio space, can't wait for the future video about the whole process!
Even for a modern piece $150 is still a pretty good price. Everything is so impossibly expensive right now that if you find something that's the design that you want and looks even mostly solid you gotta jump on that! I love the paper on the shelves and the complimentary color is really nice. I think papering the complete inside would be too much, so just the shelves is the perfect accent.
DANI, THE SPONSOR IS A SCAM!!!! Please cancel any contract you have with them asap!! A bunch of RU-vidrs have been scammed by Established Titles - they aren’t paying ANYONE!! Everyone please *like* this so Dani sees!! MrBallen posted about it in his community so you can see what I’m talking about
I thought it was done and you said it was missing something. Once again you were right and I was wrong. You accomplished a white wash just right! ❤️. Exciting news about your new studio space.
That piece is so elevated with your creative remake! Nicely done. And happy that you are building a new garage to use as your studio workshop…awesome news for you (and us 😉) lots of ideas ahead! Stay well
Me living my DIY dreams through Danie. I would love to thrift and flip furniture but don't have the space for it in my lil condo. One day though 😉 Can't wait for the new workshop! ❤️
Congratulations, Your Ladyship! You've given the barrister's bookcase a fresh, new look that will add so much to your new studio. I know you will be relieved not to have to clear snow from your car before you can set out each day. Good plan!
Great transformation. I really love the whitewash look. A lot of work, but well worth it in the end. Sometimes, with the right finish and hardware, cheap furniture can end up being very pretty.
You should be sure to put an elevator in the new garage. They make them for garages and we have one. I wish ours was bigger but it has been a great asset. The floor lies flush with the second story floor when the elevator is up and it drops down through the garage ceiling when in use. It is more of a lift than an elevator but you should look into it if you are diying larger pieces on the second floor or even for transporting wood up and down.
My dad have 2 barrister cabinets that I want so bad. But he is giving me his surveying cabinet that I will be using to display my jewelry for my Etsy shop. Woo hoo❤
Love the final look! I am a furniture flipper myself and instead of doing bleach, I would have done a paint wash (some beige paint + water). Thanks for sharing your amazing projects ❤️
This flip is Phenomenal!! So excited for your new build, I'm happy for you it's going to give you so much more space for your wonderful creative creations. 😁
The cabinet is magic! I can't wait to see it in your studio space. The news was so exciting you could have jumped out of the video. I am thrilled for the future growth of your designs.
New garage is so exciting! Did you consider a barn like lift door to your second floor for bringing up large supplies like 4x8 plywood sheets and lowering big finished DIYs?
Congratulations on the wedding and the new build! I'm so excited to see it come together. One question, how will you manage to carry big and heavy items up to the upstairs workspace or downstairs after having built it?
Love the new garage that’s coming. Have you considered moving the stairs to the right to give yourself ample turning room at the top of the stairs landing for long pieces of timber/furniture?
I had one of those Sauder Barristers bookcase! I remember paying an absurd price for a fake wood assemble it yourself piece of furniture but it was so gorgeous I had to have it. Not only that but it fit in the space it was going into. It was lost in a storage unit fire when we were moving to our new office. I was heartbroken. I was able to track one down online today and it was $700 - used! You got a great deal and what you did with it was pure magic. Congrats on getting married. Congrats on the coming new garage & workspace. I'm so happy such good things are happening in your life!
Your garage is absolutely EPIC!! I cannot wait to see that happen! I'm Soo excited for you. Thanks for taking us along for the ride. Beautiful cabinet too. 💖💖💖
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Yay!!!! I’m so happy for you & your future workshop plans!! It’s the dream, for sure. I hope you are blessed big all the way through the process!
My lady, thank you for the delightful thrift. Being a novice myself, it's always thrilling to see a master sensei at work. Lovely as always. Also, I hath checked thine budget after my Christmas gifts and bought this as a Christmas gift to myself. So there is another lady as well... Though it will be bittersweet to see the old workshop I'm used to seeing in videos go, will be glad to see you get into a space that will work for you in all seasons... Ta ta for now, and in case I don't get to post as often when I watch your videos due to work obligations: Happy Thanksgiving and a merry Christmas....
I love this piece, that hardware is SO good and so is that paper you picked out! You are so talented and inspiring and I love your style. It honestly looks perfect in your office. Lol
Are you going to be able to have a WC/bathroom and a small kitchen in your studio? That would be a nice feature. But in either case, the garage will be a great addition. I’m sure it will be a studio suitable for a Lady. 😊😊😊
Wow Danie what you did with that piece is nothing less than perfect bookcase says Danie so beautifully done and great to hear your going to have a great shop to work in you definitely deserve it I have seen your work and you are so very talented!!! Thank you for sharing your talents with us!!!God Bless!!!❤️❤️
I love this flip so much! And I’m SO excited about your upcoming garage! How fabulous to have your own design studio/DIY space! Cannot wait to follow you on this marvellous journey!! 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖.
Your talent and skills seem to grow by the week! This is beautiful. I also appreciate the mention of Ms. Frizzle. I'm too old to have seen the show (working during the day) and had never heard of it or her. I love her advice and I am definitely incorporating it into my life. T-shirt or poster? Maybe both. Thank you for both the flip and the knowledge! Congrats on your new space.
The actual transformation starts at 8:20---beautiful end result. Very unique and interesting! I would love to have this cabinet in my house (have hundreds of paperbooks 🙄☺)
I love this flip. And I realize that I need a piece of furniture very similar to this one in my living room ❤️ Thank you for helping me realize that ❤️❤️❤️
You’ve inspired me to do this to my meter high jewelry cupboard. I didn’t realize it wasn’t solid wood until I blew through the top. Thank you for your inspiration ❤
Beautiful piece, well made reproduction. Love the choice of paper you used, I'm very much into Japanese inspired materials, they just have that edge to them. Love that you went light on the outside. Can't wait for the spring to bring your big new bright project on. Soooo exciting.
danie your channel is so great. i really got into home design and crafting a few years ago and it still brings me this really great feeling of peace. and your enthusiasm for making things and trying different things is so infectious. i feel when im surrounded by beautiful things and cleanliness, that my mind is healthier for a bit. (even though my room is a mess right now haha.) thank you for always doing your best! i love your attitude so much. a lot of people on yt want to be positive in front of the camera when it sometimes feels like they arent feeling it that day. but you always strike me as genuinely positive and kind. and when youre not feeling great, you say it. comment got a bit long but i wanted to express my appreciation haha :)
HI. This was a great flip. I have to say I enjoyed the fact that it was not black, lol. Congrats on the future garage but just a possible suggestion for it - maybe a sort of dumb waiter/lift/pulley platform between the workshop loft space and the ground floor of your garage to easily move your bigger pieces without breaking your back?
I’m excited for your new space! You’ve done amazing things in the current space which is inspiration to those of us without the perfect space, but you’ll be able to do so much more with the new space!
