This Time Just a Chat - a Long One 

Hi, Roger! Thank you for this enjoyable Sunday chat. These are my favourite videos! It is great news that your mounted Dendrobiums are doing fine. Good on you! I hope your new neighbours are nice and quiet.

I agree with Diane below, I look forward to the Sunday video and check every day for other videos. I also agree that life is crazy these days and more stressful but that's another reason I watch your videos - less stress, beautiful orchids, comforting :)

Not gone! Just having a really busy summer this year. Made the mistake of volunteering to help out with several organizations since I retired 3 yrs ago, now have ended up on their exec committees, which do all their planning meetings in the summer to prepare for the fall and winter calendar of activities! Will start commenting again regularly when things settle down a bit.

I enjoy all of your videos from both channels! I love to watch you do work. I like when you speed it up in the Benny Hill type filming, when you are working in the garden. I enjoy watching you repot and water the orchids. When you video all the things you are doing instead of just telling us about them, it makes us feel more involved. I think all of your videos are great! I really feel that life has gotten harder and more stressful for most people and it causes less time to watch videos. Life is just crazy right now. I hope you continue to make videos on both channels! Thanks for all the effort you put in to these videos! I look forward to seeing a notification of one of your videos popping up.

I discovered your orchid channel earlier this year and really enjoy learning about them, but I also subscribed to your garden channel and fell back in love with my garden again through those videos. Looking for it to be a bird, bee and butterfly garden so following closely to see what plants would make suitable specimens to include. I get it though - I had a RU-vid channel I while ago and it can get disheartening when the feedback isn’t there.

I find that it's easier to return to watching channels that offer a learning moment. (Even if they have longer periods in-between videos.) And it doesn't have to be a plant which I could own (most of the cool growers wouldn't bloom at my place as I can't offer that temperature drop outside of summer time). Because the thinking process is applicable to any plant and growthspace. I appreciate the chance to learn that skill. The way different growers for the same plant can aproach growing a specific plant is fascinating and means I could watch all of them and get a fuller picture. It inspires to try different methods and keep analysing my own plant data. I feel like the over consuming (I have stumbled on some plant channels trying to do unboxing like some fast fashion channel with little to learning/analysing offered) makes world duller and kills that child like spark which brought us to grow plants or try any hobby. May all of us keep that spark burning. And watching your videos (and other orchid channels) regularly. xD

I’ve learned so much from you on my 3 year journey of collecting orchids. I live in a temperate climate though so can’t grow a lot of cool growers. Your chats are still interesting thank you.

Well, I can honestly say you have one of the best Orchid channels that there is I have watched you for years. I will continue to watch. but I am with you. There is not as many Orchid channels still on RU-vid as there was some still come up in my feed, but they’ll be like two years old four years I hope your new neighbors are good. I live in a duplex also and have lived here for quite some time most of the time I’ve had great neighbors. I had awful neighbors and they finally got evicted and it was the best day of my life lol and speaking of smoking, I used to work when I was a kid in this restaurant and on Sunday morning all the husbands would come in and have coffee and donuts. Wife was at church and chitchat and smoke The whole room was just likefog good memories. Cymbidium can’t wait to see the beautiful flowers

I just started a Bonsai hobby, so I do enjoy watching that channel.

Hi Roger, I was wondering if Sarcochilus Orchids is something you might be adventurous with again! I have been brave and brought some and they are so pretty and quite easy to grow here in Melbourne, Victoria. I don't have any special equipment they just grow outside on shelves. I love your channels 🥰😍😃

is there not a pin at the top and bottom of the other door (on the strike plate face) that goes down to allow it to open?

Hopefully with the winter coming you will get more channel support. People will be stuck inside again. Summer it is too nice to be in watching videos. 🤞🤞🤞. Still enjoy your videos.

My orchids seem to all have new growths, but i grow my orchids in a grow room in the house.

Roger I always enjoyed your videos before you split them into orchids,garden and bonsai. Why not merge them back together and just change you title to something that would fit all 3? Also add more cat! 😅

Hi Roger. I'm fairly new to growing orchids (successfully) and have watched quite a few of your videos recently. I particularly loved the store bought phalaenopsis series you did. I don't have a grow room, so they either need to be able to survive outside all year (cymbidiums) or stay inside (phalaenopsis and just now testing oncidium types). Maybe consider who you want your target audience to be - passionate growers with space and money for greenhouses, climate controlled heaters, etc; or hobby growers who have a shelf or corner inside and maybe a balcony or small yard outside? What about taking your viewers on some tours? What is available at your local nursery? If you were looking at purchasing a new orchid, where would you source it? Take us to orchid shows, other club members' spaces, etc. I do have to say, if I see a video is more than 30 mins and not about a specific topic I want to learn about (skill, variety, etc) I will usually skip it or just have it playing in the background while doing something else.

Your channel is my main channel for years now, you are first on my list and I intend to keep it this way, always interesting info and relaxing chats - thank you for keep doing it Roger! Just a question - a long time ago you posted a list with the daylengts in different parts of the worlds throughout the year - i didnt save it back then and googleling it I cant find it. - would you still have it closeby somewhere and be willing to repost it? thank you

Don't get me started on living in a house with three extremely noisy undisciplined boys , noisy in and out of the house and dozens and dozens of footballs landing in our garden! Plus the enormous contained trampoline that every single home that have children seem to have to have! Trust me that's one of the main reasons we moved from a house we loved!!

My orchids were out on the terrace all summer long, I brought them in at the last minute. This weather is not normal, one day it was 30 °C and the next 7 °C. I have one maby silly question... Do you use RO water for drinking, in general house use? Or you use only for orchids? I was thinking of installing an RO system because my tap water has become very poor quality for human consumption.
