B WB says the fact you have to pay for plane tickets? Everything this guy does is to save money on travelling but at no point do they say he’s flying for free. There’s no legal way to fly for free, sorry to tell you.
life isn't just about being a better person. maybe he rides planes and travels a lot just because he loves to. success is a broad word. the truth is, there are "measurements" for success. some succeed when it comes to relationships, jobs, wealth, personal life goals in doing what they love, etc. No one says "don't eat your favorite food because it won't make you a better person."
@@mohd_allearz8403 he essentially made frivolous complaints to keep getting free cash compensation of $200 or $400, and when United caught on after he bragged about making over $10k in vouchers to the NYT, they banned him.
Even though things have been tightened up a lot in the last 1-2 years, I think it's generally agreed that getting the most out of travel hacking works only if you're based in the United States. The sheer range of credit card 'benefits' (if that's the right word) aren't all that common elsewhere, except perhaps if you're a high net worth individual. Otherwise, you're likely to be someone who has to travel a lot...for work.
Here's an example: person opens a CC with 50,000 sign up bonus points for $5000 spent within the first 3 months of opening it. Use the same CC to buy $5000 worth of GC's. Purchase money orders with the said GC's. Money orders cashed and deposited to bank account. Pay off CC's in full. Use gained points for travel. It's a cycle.
That's great... and the airlines are paying notice. Just wait... less than 5 years from now all of a sudden there will be a whole slew of restrictions on lounge access and tickets.
I mean, it's actually quite possible. Without a credit card, I've been able to get a good use out of my Delta Skymiles and Southwest Rapid Rewards points. The credit card gives you a huge bonus and maximizes those points, but only if you use it wisely.
These are professional blogger and traveling is business for them. I am sure they travel for reasons or being sponsored by banks who's credit cards they suggest to get
man i wish i can go back to being 25 and just travel and not think about tomorrow. when u kinda established yourself, u just kinda wanna hold on to it and its hard to let go.
yea exactly. the problem is new people into the game sometimes dont really understand the different type of cards. it is pretty awesome of a game though, at least for people who travel. buyaticketandgo.com/blog/2016/4/29/understanding5typesofcreditcards an article for different types of cards
This also takes a lot of time and micro management. You have to constantly keep up with every little bonus and trick and you have to spend lots more time planning which cards to use where and which airlines, and where you want to go. It's just a ton of variable to consider. Plus most of these credit cards have Annual fees.
how much is that blog of his raking in? geez. I prefer destinations over the journey tho. flying can be kinda fun, but its basically a loading screen for real life. like its cool to be in the air and all, but its just a cramped hotel room at best.
im on disability for a mental illness i suffer from. i have never worked a day in my life nor college i have one the most undemanding life styles of getting up and sleeping when i want and what to do from keeping myself board. for the last 7 years i have found a hobby/addiction to flying to nearby cities such as LA/SD/ LAS /PHX trips with a budget of 50-100$ flights out of my backpack sometimes i come home same day or stay 1-4 nights in room under 50$ i love the hassle and bustle moving thru the airports n and out into new territories. on a given year i will fly to vegas 4 times always the same low thrills carrier out of my backpack at that cheap hotel with the cheap food specials for a night or 2 but can add up to a 500-1k$ a year costly habit for 4 micro vacations. i go alone and very little with me like the guy in the video. Understanding the video is complex for me but would this benefit me ?
Ok what people don’t understand is it’s not about how much you spend it’s about how often you fly. These people rack up tons of miles because of how often they fly. By doing that you can fly first class for the price of coach. However, credit cards do help but it’s all about how often you fly and how many miles you travel.
Honestly I dread flying because the TSA and security check points. Not to mention the heavy traffic around the airport. I really try to avoid flying if I can, I always link airport with long lay overs, long lines and exhausted passengers.
Discovered this 2 years ago I have enough points now to fly 2 people business almost anywhere in the world. And it would of only cost me maybe $300 if that, and iv visited the business lounge many times free of charge. It's just time and research plus swapping direct debits.
This lifestyle is so wack. Although flying many places is fucking dope, you have to keep track of 40 credit cards your on a constant move all the time so you don’t really have a break and I guess it can get stressful. And your only in places for like a day so you don’t really build up relationships and stuff he’s traveling but it’s nothing on the long run no career involved just keep on moving and moving and moving.
He has his own company called point pros where he helps other people use their miles/points intelligently and get good first/business class tickets. Quite a lot of money from that and commission from advertising credit cards on his blog.
Why not ?!clever !nothing wrong with traveling in style and getting the best for your money. Anyone who is hating on him for this is plain jealous. Learn from him instead and maybe also can enjoy the good life . You are only young once!awesome! Enjoy your adventures young man. Genius he is! I love success stories of the young people now that I am no longer young lol:)
How does he make money doing this?! ppl do need to realize no matter how much he "saved" he still need to put out tens of thousands dollars to fly 4 million miles and basically cant do anything but to travel constantly
Mark Santucci no he doesn't have that card, because that is actually one of the worse travel cards out there. But it's is brilliantly marketed by the company. Yes you get double miles for every purchase but not all miles are created equal especially when you trade them in for air miles or point to buy plane tickets. For points earned on the venture card you are getting a value of at most 1¢/ point whereas for chase or Starwood points for example are valued at a little over 2¢/mile
He is maybe flown 4,000,000 miles but his credit card dept is maybe 3 times that stupid stupid they charge intrest and tax you still have to pay it back. He has $12,000,000 in credit card dept you must save up and use cash or atm card.
This is an example of bad journalism or editing. The number one question that everyone wants to know is... how does he get his parents to pay for his lifestyle?
Meh, I think traveling like this kind of takes the fun/appreciation out of it. Also this is definitely not for everyone. Having that many credit cards and that much CC debt does not work or even benefit most people. You have to have some serious self control and patience, which I commend him for. I can hear some people now thinking "OOh, I'll apply for 10 CC's, travel for next to nothing, and have a unicorn for a credit score." Don't. Also, please don't forget about accruing interest rates people >.
