These videos taken an enormous amount of work from a team of 5, so if you enjoy this content, please let us know in the comments! Your feedback is incredibly valuable to us. My earliest inspiration for telling stories about the lesser known people and cultures in our world is from Anthony Bourdain. I used to watch his shows every day in high school with my dad and he’s the reason why I’m doing what I do now. We miss you, Uncle Tony!
You are doing a great job of keeping us entertained. But what I really love is the fact that you are showing us that we are actually all the same. Very cool and interesting videos where I always learn something. If only the people who did that terrible act understood that we might have different views on religion but we are still all the same. Thanks for sharing this interesting piece of culture and may we all enjoy our differences, in love, with each other.
They are not a tribe , I'm from chattisgarh and believe me they are not a tribe but a sect not cult though. In a competitive exam if you mark them as a tribe you will get -ve marks. Thanks for coming and showing them to entire world.
OHH wow I'm Indian and even I wasn't aware of tribes like this. been following you for 5 years drew ,you're so inspiring congratulations on visiting all countries (I know its a while back but still). I know India is very crowded and chaotic but glad you see the good things I know you're last trip to India wasn't all that great with food poisoning and your bus accident wish you well
Shows how disconnected you are with traditions of India. BTW there is another tribe in Jharkhand called oraon - named so because they keep chanting - O ram , O ram
@@manh9105 who me?ya I am disconnected coz I live in the urban high tech city of bangalore,I dont find joy in travelling India(even though i travelled to 12 states ) ,I like going abroad planning to shift to Australia in the next 3 years :) this dosent mean I hate my country no I am proud to be Indian but I have a different calling.
@@AnjaliSingh-0304The problem with indians is they don't even know their culture. Even though in modern times people of the west are seeking Indian culture, it's customs and practices beneficial. Shows how low indians have steeped into. No wonder India is a developing country. There are ways to be developed. 1) completely reject your self sell your nations soul and the coin instantly develops(South Korea is an example). Two, you seek value from your roots and from other places, integrate it and become truly developed. India needs to do latter. But Indians don't even know their own culture and that's the problem. Luckily it's slowly changing for the better.
He is treating the tattoos as a freak show for utube ! At certain points it's downright disrespectful. And he is approaching all this in a very stereotypical American way
They are not a Tribe . Loosely translated they are a community with certain practices unique to them . Westerners find it very difficult to understand India's culture, social structure & spiritual / religious practices. West/ US understanding is simply urban , rural & indigenous/ tribes. While India has too many types with many intersecting each other making it complex.
Wow, it's such a beatiful thing that tribes and communities like this still exist around the world. And huge props to you Drew for making the stories and sharing them with us all! You truly learn something new about this earth of us every day.
Thank You very very much for covering culture of 'Hamar Chhatisgarh' And fun fact it is believed that Chhatisgarh is Lord Ram's Maternal Home so we call him 'Bhancha Ram' which translates to Nephew Ram Even Indians don't know much about us and we have so many other great things here for you do visit us again ❤
with all the bugs in his room and a dirty pillow? And almost being killed on the road or from food poisoning in his last trip? India needs education in hygiene first. Do you invite people to your house if it is dirty?
@@Dan-xx5jq that's not all the India and all people are not born with privilege most of them spend almost all their day in earning little money but they'll definitely invite you with all their heart they don't know what's comfortable for a well doing person
This was beautiful, and the people seem so peaceful and their religious dedication is astounding, I love this and want to see more tribe videos. Thank you for filming this, and thank you to the Ramnamis peoples.
Sri Rama is the seventh and one of the most popular avatars of Maha Vishnu (one of the Trinities). Rama is also known by other names. He is called Ramachandra (beautiful, lovely moon), or Dasarathi (son of Dasaratha), or Raghava (descendant of Raghu, solar dynasty in Hindu cosmology). He is also known as Ram Lalla (Infant form of Rama). Additional names of Rama include Ramavijaya (Javanese), Phreah Ream (Khmer), Phra Ram (Lao and Thai), Megat Seri Rama (Malay), Raja Bantugan (Maranao), Ramudu (Telugu), Ramar (Tamil). In the Vishnu sahasranama (1000 names of Vishnu) , Rama is the 394th name of Vishnu. In some Advaita Vedanta inspired texts, Rama connotes the metaphysical concept of "Supreme Brahman" who is the eternally blissful spiritual Self (Atman, soul) in whom yogis delight nondualistically. The root of the word Rama is ram- which means "stop, stand still, rest, rejoice, be pleased".
Those tattoos should hurt when they are tattooed on their bodies, I admire them! Drew's videos are always full of adventure, surprise, knowledge and culture, and they never disappoint me! Thank you very much for sharing, you did a super great job! 👍🥰🙏
Hi Drew, I've been obsessed with geography since I've been 6. I know every flag, country, and capital. (And territories) You make me wanna travel so much, you're a huge inspiration and make people who like geography like me feel known. Thank you for all your work, we all love you ❤
I had no idea about such tribe in Chhattisgarh. Thanks Drew for his contribution. Come to Jharkhand, I am also a Santhal Tribe. Show you the way of life from our tribal culture and the food habits.
This video was so eye opening for me, I had no idea of the Ramnamis and their extreme devotion to their god! In a way, it sort of resembles the kind of devotion found by the monks in Mount Athos, and this kind of devotion I have always loved to see.
2:10 that's literally a gecko that eats the bugs. And then there was the frog that too eats the bugs..both of them were not the bugs. bdw That poop was of the gecko.
This is some intense stuff you've experienced. I know there are many ancient tribes existing in India which are very spiritual but this was completely new to my brain, thanks for sharing this! Ram Ram. 🙏
This was some Discovery channel stuff!!❤❤ Chhattisgarh n adjoining Odisha states are treasurehouse for endangered tribes..wildlife..central Indian jungles n hills!! P.s. should also cover tribes like "BISON MARIA...BONDA...etc.."
It felt like it's a place where tattoos are like personalized Wi-Fi passwords to the soul, and their story is so ink-redible, even the History Channel might consider a rebrand to the 'Tattooed Chronicles'! India is indeed an amazing country and it's gives me more reason to explore this place. Hopefully, when my travel dart lands in this place.
I have always wanted to travel the world, meet people from all around the world. But it is impossible for me to lead such life as i Don't have such opportunities and a positive surrounding. I am truly grateful to Drew for teaching me about geography, history, culture and people. 😊
What is better : Forcing a religion on to someone using money and fire power or winning them over by doing things right ? See that is the difference between Hinduism and rest if the religion’s
I've been India many times and being a British indian myself, I never knew this community existed. This is why I love your channel Drew, I have learned so much from just your travelling experience. You can't put a value on knowledge and experience. I hope to travel and discover like yourself one day ❤ keep up the amazing content 👏🏽
Even indians themselves don't know their culture. That's why they are a poor country. If India knew about it's culture, it would be developed in no time and places like Dubai would be no match for India. And it's not an exaggeration at all.
But india is the country he hates he is just here for views check out his old video he changed caption to country I hate the most to country I gave second chance to
Drew, I have enjoyed your videos for several years and I've learned a lot from them. I'm in Colorado, so I can travel to faraway places vicariously through your wonderful adventures! Thank you so very much for your work. Safe travels~❣
India is truly an amazing country with great people! This tribe is really sejr extraordinary and FASCINATING! Thank you for the video and the GREAT TRAVEL HACK 👍 ❣ ❣
⭐️ Hey Drew! You’ve been such an inspiration in my life! My goal is to visit every country in the world as well. I’m currently in the middle of cycling from Alaska to Argentina! It’s been the trip of a lifetime! Thanks for everything you do! You make the world a far better place by being apart of it and sharing stories from all around the world!
Drew!! If you see this, I just want to let you know don't stop these tribe/community videos because unfortunately they are slowly dying out and it would be wonderful for the future generations to document them.
Correct the Map of India. They are not cult or tribe they are ranmani sect. Like most of followers a distinct followers. Everyone in this come from some other tribe.
Hey drew visit kargil up north, a drokpa trive exists. They are the descendants of alexanders army who stayed back after he lost the battle wuth indian king. They married local women and went up to remite mountains. Were moatly isolated till independence. Drokpa tribe
They might be closely related roma tribe/sect in Europe particularly in Romania. Their physical features are very closely similiar. Please conduct DNA test, some sects in India relates to East European countries.😮
Thank you so much Drew and your team for teaching us about all these cultures, traditions, and religions all around the world. I see people who travel and post their adventures online to teach people what’s going on in the world as a school. And Drew and his team are a second school for me and my family that we learn from everyday from watching your videos. It’s like online school but better❤❤
Ram is called as " maryada purushottam" A defination of ideal man. He is incarnation of lord vishnu Who took birth in an family of king and was married to godess incarnation of devi laxmi (goddess of wealth). Her name was *Sita* , Ram only married a single women and the women is known to be the definition of ideal wife and mother. You can watch or read Ramayan I'm sure you will love it🪔 Even chanting Jai siya ram gives peace As you all know the sign of *"Om"* 🕉️ has very significantly value but it should be chanted properly for better results but Ram -Ram or Jai siya ram= ( ram+ sita) Is something which u can chant slowly anytime anyhow ❤
Ram is a god worshipped all over India Ram is a god in Hinduism also known as Sanatan Dharma There our four religion born in India Hindusim Sikhism Bhuddism and Jainism Than you Drew for showing me this tribe which I didn't knew about it Pls come to Mumbai I really want to meet u buddy
Ramnami community resides in Janjgir Champa, Sarangarh, Raigarh Balodabazar district of Chhattisgarh. Originally he is a resident of Janjgir Champa district. He belongs to Scheduled Caste category. Every year, a fair of the people of this community is organized in these districts where they worship their God and all the people of the community come together and celebrate. The main reason for Ramnamiyas to get Ram Ram written all over their bodies was untouchability discrimination. Due to the caste system and caste system in Hindu religion, they are prohibited from worshiping in the temple. Their residence was on the outskirts of the village. Due to the Brahmin system, they had to face social exploitation and oppression. This is the reason why these people created their own separate community by getting Ram, the chief god of Hindu religion, tattooed all over their bodies. These people got Ram Ram written all over their bodies to show that they are common people like all Hindus. This was a way of protest which gradually became their tradition. Ramnami community is not tribal. They belong to the Scheduled Caste category of the Indian Constitution like Satnami, Suryavanshi, Rohidas etc. People of their next generation have become educated. Now tattooing has been stopped due to problems in job, business and marriage due to tattooing. I am also from their community. from Bilaigarh Chhattisgarh
I really appreciate your work . I enjoyed and learned from your lovely informative video. Being in India, I never had any clue about this awesome group of people, RAM RAM . I have subscribed to your lovely channel. With love from SAM Guwahati, Assam, India 🇮🇳 ♥️
Hindus believe that Ram is everywhere i.e. God is everywhere. There is good as well as evil inside a person or animal. Good is the symbol of Ram and evil is the symbol of Rakshas(devil). Hindu people do not hate anyone until they know whether there is good or evil in him. Hindus believe that there can be different mediums to reach the truth. The worship system of someone can be different. please correct the map of india🙏 Ram राम ❤
"Secret" tribe?... Why do you want to give a flashy name to simple people... There's nothing of secrecy here... These simple honest guys are true embodiment of spirituality and tolerence....
Its very lovely to see that being a foreigner, Drew explores so much out of India that many Indians don't even know. Thank You Drew for your amazing videos. Love from India💗
Mulugu is a district which is quite near to the border of chhattisgarh with Telangana. It's roughly 80 miles from our hometown. It's called Telangana chhattisgarh border. Even here, we have koya tribe. One of the most famous tribes of India.
That's my state I didn't even know about it . Chhattisgarh has a lot of tribes . Drew i request to to go to odisha to see the architecture that will be India's real architecture. Thank you .
@@drewbinsky Yeah india is so diverse. Thank you for covering it . If you are in india , have a thought about going to odisha state just east of chhattisgarh ( i am originally from odisha my family move to chhattisgarh before my birth ) . Trust me you will see some ancient and crazy architecture .
@@ranjitbhaskar8791 I am 16 i heard about the satnami tribe from my father he also knew about this ramnami tribe . I lives near the capital city is satnami are there?? Like in the north middle are?
As far as this sect/ community is concerned Drew B made their religious practice of tattoos into a freak show. Endless times he tried to bring the conversation back to tattoo & he wanted more details on it to present in his way for views. But these people were not into speaking much.
Didnt knew about this amazing tribe, really drew thanks a lot!!! Nd can u believe it its a VEGETARIAN TRIBE their value and principle of peace is just so rare to see in this world....
Being indian i dont know this epic tribe❤❤❤ tnx for showing this...being born in hindu i hate cast discrimination..which makes me to agnostic...but mediation n people like these from our culture make me believe
Caste descrimination isn't fundamental to religion, but varna system is which was fluid. And only having knowledge of caste through media and books and knowing nothing about the vast text and scriptures make people agnostic and atheist but being agnostic makes you free and question More, research more, as agnostic find the the existing religious dogmas untrue, they find their own paths ,hope you'll find yours.
REBELIOUS FORM OF WORSHIPING RAM. I HOPE 🤞🏼 IN THE NEAR FUTURE ALL RAM LOVERS(INCLUDING THESE PEOPLE) WOULD COME TO AYODHYA RAM TEMPLE 🛕 AND PRAY 🙏 ALL TOGETHER. Jai siya ram 🙏
I am unsure how you feel about recent events, but I would offer you my deepest condolences and we keep you the, Jewish people, in our prayers and pray that Israel and Jerusalem would soon have real peace. This was an awesome episode and the quality of your videos really are professional and very enjoyable. Me being married to an Indian woman makes it extra special that you came back. God bless you and lots of love from Norway.
wow..as an Indian i am ashamed to admit that I was not aware of these people. They seem extremely at peace...it was palpable through even this video..also, their ritual had elements from african, Indian tribal, traditional hindu, polynesian and even tibetan rituals. A very strange mix with a beautiful end result.
