That was always going to be a category difference. Any% is just always a thing, 100% is also normally a thing and the 100% is not actually all that bad, LASO and LASO Any% will definitely be a thing, there will hopefully be an official non-LASO Any% that allows skulls because unlimited equipment use is just easy speed and is so much fun and also enables (better) vehicle launching. Hopefully the community decides to not count the light calibration as where the run starts because that is just fucking pedantic.

I finished my first play through with 30 hours put in on normal getting 98% complete. Just need to finish the Spartan audio logs. Also just beat it on easy in 2 1/2 hrs for the under 8 hours achievement. Now just need LASO and all campaign achievements are done so this video is 👍
It's actually possible to cross that chasm he showed to jump across at without the ground pound. There seems to be a gap in the soft barrier or something. just a hundred or so meters in either direction and you can't cross, as the grapple will instantly disconnect, but near that spot you can grapple enough to land on a ledge below even without the upgraded grapple. Having it upgraded enough lets you climb the wall up to the surface, but there is very little walkable area before the kill timer starts. There is probably 100m or so of walkable ledge beneath however, and enough space to trigger checkpoints and get stuck, forcing you to fast travel to escape.
You don’t actually need to ground pound, if you just grapple through the laser and immediately go into the map then it does the same thing - needs less cores that way
Ground pound is already part of the speedrun rout and you get it before the lasers anyway however this is still good to know since activating ground pound is slow compared to normal grappling.

You actually don't need to grapple kick through the soft barrier. Atleast I have done it without that and have seen others. I did it just a touch further up the mountain though. You also don't need to grapple kick at the laser either. You can just grapple to get above the laser and while you are falling on the laser fast travel to get the zombie mode.
I quit my game during the boss fight with the brute at the mining site cause I died a few times and needed a break. I loaded back in, and the laser looked a little funky, so I walked through it, and it damaged me a little, but let me through it and into the tunnel.
This helped me out so much, my first playthrough was 19 hours on heroic, 2nd play through on easy with the hand cannon I was so busy grappling through the last lvl I forgot the skull, with this trick I was able to beat the whole game for a 2nd time on easy in under a hour to get that final skull. Legendary laso here we come but with no skips wish me luck!
Completed Campaign on Legendary, then on Easy (to get skulls and other stuff) and am now just doing LASO (have that and 3 other achievements to do before 100%) and am not havin' it lmao. Motivation levels to run through the game again or low af. I'll take all the skips I can get lmao. Looking forward to the LASO video.
I used this glitch to go explore out of bounds, found a small red object, I touched it and it immediately crashed my game. Gonna try and get footage of it, but I’ve gotta play the game from the start again 😂
Just tested this, it works but with a caveat: if you enter any cutscenes, the game will recognize that you are no longer invincible. This includes activating the button that informs you of the 2 generators to destroy the laser (I was hoping I could keep the invulnerability for the rest of my LASO run but unfortunately it doesn't).
@@AhuizotlXiuh not entirely sure, but I imagine it might not. I would guess that any time it shows an actual cutscene is when it resets the invulnerability. Feel free to test out and let everyone know.
@@Senzuy101 I did test it yesterday and capturing FOBs did not disable invincibility. You can safely do that, fast travel, and grapplejack vehicles. Will do more testing today.

Just a heads up for anyone wondering, it doesn’t work if you have all skulls enabled. So if you’re going for a Legendary run with skulls you’ll have to do it legitimately :)

That sucks, yeah I think at one point in time Mint Blitz had said that when you do the level skips it doesn’t count towards overall completion in terms of the achievements (that you have to complete each level to get them to pop). I still beat the whole thing on LASO in under 5 hours and got the achievement to pop- I tried one run that failed and went back and grabbed the tank cannon at the start of mission 3 and after that breezed through everything… When you get to the spire for the first time you can grapple jack a banshee and fly past everything to each of the spires, which makes for a pretty fast run- especially with the tank cannon thing. Anyway I know the pain of abandoning a run on LASO- my first one was right near the end and I just called it quits in a small room with two red hunters (I actually beat them one time but got killed by sentinels at the next part of the level and it took me back to the hunters again). Those hunters are no joke on LASO, ESPECIALLY when you’re trapped with them in a small room.

I didn't even know people did laso runs, I had to look up what that even means. That sounds fucking insane but also something I would like to do now that I've beaten it on legendary once...
Do we know if this negates the Forza "under 8 hours" achievement? I've beaten the game twice now... 100% on Heroic, and a LASO run (that I finished in 8hrs14min ugh), and so I need to do another run to get under 8 hours... I know I could run through on easy in like under 4 hours, but anything to shorten that time would be fantastic.
Im not a speedrunner, but I managed to beat the Game under an hour with a glitch that teleported my other save file of the Campaign to my main location ( That means that the save files were connected and I was teleported to the Silent Adutorium with no progress in the game ) And just beat it under an hour.
This worked today 12/29/2021 on Legendary WITH all skulls on. Make sure to quit and load back in. I unfortunately lost the tank gun at this step for some reason but regardless it will save me a bunch of time.
FYI, if you fly towards The Road mission and quit with this bug with "Saving Progress" on the main island, you can softlock yourself completely losing the invincible.
If you use the glitch you can probably do valor activities from other islands like rescuing Marines and destroying towers. Not sure what the total will be without missions.
@@MintBlitz Im currently on the final mission of laso but i lost the glitched gun. If i use this glitch to get back to the final level then will it count?
It won't help for missions but you can probably make it slightly easier by collecting cores and killing hvts with useful weapons without worrying about dying. Maybe clear fobs but I hear cutscenes remove invincibility and activating the fob to capture it may count. Something to test.
Okay I just did this glitch to explore the end map, there is a certain island you can't normally access to, thank to the glitch, you can, I decided to explore the great lake, it's beautiful by the way, and I discovered something weird, East of the lake there is a RED object that act as n you investigate? Thank you.
So managed to do this without even needing to teleport. Simply have your dead body hit the laser apperantly. Or just stay in the menu with the teleport option up, then the laser just pushes you super deep into the hole.
@@ismadil All I did was bring up the tac map after doing the ground pound just like Mint did. If done correctly you'll take tick damage from the excavation laser but won't die
If you do this glitch do you get the achievements for beating the game on LASO/legendary. Currently doing my laso run for the achievements and this would be a huge help
It does not count to those achievements. From what I understand, those achievements keep track of what missions you've beaten on what difficulty, and since you're skipping 80% of the campaign's missions with this trick, they don't get ticked off for the achievement.
I remember trying to get past to the other island when I first started, was rescuing a squad near the back on the first island and saw what I now know was a beacon, it looked cool so I tried getting to it only for a blatant wall, I don’t know why but I took it personally and tried for hours to get past, had no luck so eventually I just gave up.
I think the wall is more just grapple physics along with possibly going to low. I managed to pull it off at the start of the open world (as in before doing the tower) but got a 10 sec out of bound pop up
So, I'm not sure I understood you at the end. If we do this skip, do we still get the LASO achievement? Because that's the only reason I'm doing LASO. I played the campaign normally and now I'm just getting all the achievements.
Can’t get this to work. I bring up the map, but the game eventually cuts off and shows me dying. I’m aiming at the exact spot but it simply kills me every time, regardless.
so i did a speedish run where i did the glitch. turns out you cant get the legendary achievement either. but you can get the missions in under 8 hours achievement. I'm an achievement hunter. got 1120/1600 so far
I've beat and unlocked everything on my Heroic run. Admittedly, I did have to look up how to get the Banadana skull. Which I did on easy because, screw that! I've just beat Tremonius on LASO (after 10ish fails), by SPKNr-ing him once as he tried to ground pound me. Then I sworded him into a corner and kept him above me for it. Took about 30 seconds. "Short" vid coming soon. With Christmas break over, I no longer have time to finish LASO. So learning of these glitch is God Send to me.
I didn't even use this trick and I pretty much dodged the entire fighting to the House of Reckoning. Just stuck to the sides and used thrusters/grapple
You don’t need this glitch to beat it in under 8hrs… i did it in 4 with tank gun. But if you don’t wanna do any glitches or easter eggs, play on easy and don’t bother with the red icon bases. Once you get to the mine its smooth sailing, you can just keep following the missions.
I wish 343 would add challenges to do in campaign like Halo MCC for the battle pass so players who want to explore and do 100% completion on it can get battle pass tiers instead of being forced to play MP
So I tried this on legendary and it didn’t work. Spent about 10 minutes at the laser. Kept dying as soon as I selected a FOB to fast travel to. Once it finally did work. The invincibility didn’t work. So I went all the way back to the lasers. Only for it to then work. However the laser pushed me into the cave, and the game wouldn’t let me bring up the map. So I was stuck there and couldn’t do anything except enter the conservatory. Where I then lost the invincibility. Needless to say I’m not restarting my legendary run. So I’m going to have to continue through.
Was hoping that this could be used for laso as I got up to last boss fight and my save currupted tried deleting and resyncong but it had already uploaded to the cloud now I got to do it all over again and my motivation for it is non existant at this point.
When I open the map the game continues behind. In other words the game isn't paused and I just go straight into the lasers and die and it exits me out the map and respawns me. ???
so I did the skip, beat the game in like 1 hour, but now I cant enter the south east area of the map without getting the "leaving the combat zone" warning.... any idea how I can unlock that area?
