The trip begins at Eaglevale camp ground, beside the Wonnangatta River in Victoria's High Country.
After packing up from this magnificent High Country camp spot at Eaglevale we head up over Cynthia Range to explore more of what the High Country has to offer.
This time we are in search for another off road camping location.
The 4x4 track on the other side of the Wonnangatta River heads up through the burnt country from the bush fires that hit the area earlier in the year.
This video takes me into the Victorian High Country and covering some of the stunning mountains, rivers and off road camping camping spots around the Dargo area.
After the recent rain across the region, some of the river crossings along the Crooked River Track were a bit higher than they normally are.
We ended up making our way over the mountain tops and camping off the grid near the beautiful old gold mining town at Talbotville, on the Crooked River.
Stunning location, which we had the whole area to our self.
Sorry for some of the interference that is in a few of the in-car segments. ( Not sure why thats happened )
Thanks for watching this Victorian High Country 4x4 trip and a lot more travel videos are coming up.

Hi Tim, Nice one mate, shame about the fires, like you say the trees and vegetation will come back, some need fire to germinate, but it's not going to be that easy for the animals, forests need animals /animals need forest, it's an ecosystem, anyway a good virtual trip in a far away land. Chears Tim. Nige.

Gday mate, Yeah it’s great seeing the burnt country bouncing back. But, the animal lose is massive. They will take a bit longer again to come back. Great trip in stunning country. Thanks for your reply and feedback. Cheers Tim.

Great stuff Batesy...it is eerie driving through scorched areas like this...so sad to see !! Those tracks are in better nick than my road to home in Mansfield which is full of pot holes !!! Yes good to see some cattle out in the bush...shame there isn't more of them...but don't start me on that topic!! As my old man always said " leave a gate as you find it" One of your best mate really enjoyed it!!!

G'day Craig, Yeah for sure mate it was strange driving through that burnt country. It just goes for miles when you see it from the top. The tracks are in good condition so the fire trucks could get into most of that country to help fight the fires. Those cattle were local ones, but just great seeing them back in the bush. Spot on about the gates mate, always leave them as you found them. Thanks heaps mate for your reply and comments. Cheers Batesy.

Looks like Collingwood Spur has been significantly widened in the tight spots. Not a bad thing to see the tracks graded after the fires. After a fire tracks are always better as a result, but they soon get knarly with thousands of passing vehicles - especially the ones with traction control spinning the crap out of their wheels to get up a spot where a proper 4WD crawls over.
@timbates4wdadventures
@timbates4wdadventures 5 лет назад
Yeah Collingwood Spur Track has had a few of the tight spots widened, which isn't such a bad thing. The tracks will as you say, come back after a heap of rain and 4wd's driving up and down. It's a good thing seeing the tracks maintained for sure. Cheers Tim.
