@@aazhie They are the classic example of "Playing Chess with a pigeon" It can't play, shits on the board, knocks over all the pieces, then struts around like it won.
I just subscribed to this channel, and that ridiculous nutjob has been on two videos I've watched under a different name. He's pathetic, and not that bright
But he argued with an apparent real attempt to make a point (poorly), and only went into a rant about the collapse of America and then screeching like an parakeet when he ran out of argument. I don't think trolling was the intent but the last resort.
Wait.. "...fought in Vietnam for..." Man that is a strrrreeetttch of logic. I am a veteran who fought in Iraq and I definitely am under no illusions that fighting over there helped the ambient freedom quotient in the States at all. Wow... He was like tearful about it, what a sad place to be mentally.
None of his shtick was true. He's a troll, it's what they do. They create a dangling carrot for us to bite on where we end up making claims that we know what the "butthurt Christian" was doing and why. But since it's all a façade, they feel gratified and powerful because they were "smart" enough to trick us into believing the lie. We've all done this at some point, to some degree, because we've felt powerless and resentful. Except most of us grow out of it and become properly socialized adults. Trolls take it to an exceptionally creepy level because anonymity makes them feel safe, which means they won't face the same social consequences than if they did it in person to people that know who they are.
I'm a citizen of Soviet Canuckistan...but I appreciate the symbiotic relationship we enjoy with our neighbours. Whenever I see someone in uniform up here (soldier, paramedic, cop, fireman....) I always say, "Thanks for keeping us safe." The only vested interest I have in their job is the sense of security I get to enjoy because *they* maintain it for me (I have no family in any of those types of roles with the exception of a former stepfather who used to be an ER doc). Furthermore, I stood, and remain, absolutely against the invasion of Iraq...but I suspect it wasn't you who gave the order to invade. I'm not sure if that makes me more or less grateful than someone with a family connection/loss due to their service/sacrifice. Either way, my gratitude is 100% sincere. *THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE* *YOU SHOULD HOLD YOUR HEAD HIGH; ONE OF THE REASONS I HOLD MINE HIGH IS BECAUSE OF THE COMPETENCE, ENTHUSIASM, COURAGE, AND DEDICATION OF PEOPLE LIKE YOU*
Oh Chad. Chad, Chad, Chad. Take the ‘religiously-motivated self-perceived persecution chip’ off your shoulder, then call back when you actually have something worthwhile. When you can’t even troll without looking like a buffoon… 🤷🏻♂️
@@3MrNiceGuy15 Nope. No one I knew fought for the United States. We fought for each other and the rest of he world, the United States included, could just fuck off.
Chad @ 5:02 "That process is to be sceptical. I am sceptical of the scepticism." Chad @ 13:32 "How can you be a sceptic if you believe in the supernatural?" Well, Chad, I thought you were the theist. You tell us.
@@TheTruthKiwi Obviously, most theists don't. It's something they have to learn later infer compared to everyone else. But once they do their faith eventually crumbles away as reality eventually sets in.
I say let him talk about how he thinks atheism is destroying America and then point out how it is Christianity that is actively working towards a handmaiden tale type of fascism
@@Sharetheroad3333 except he would never be the type of guy who actually gets all the perks of that society: a nice house, a respectable wife, a breeder woman, status, not having to work a shitty job. These losers always miss this point: they too would be on the bottom of the hierarchy. Living in a barracks and never even allowed to talk to a woman, if not sent to die in the "colonies" right off the bat.
Love it! Your show is really hitting its stride. That dude just could not put any kind of argument past his topic sentence. I would rate that as the real downfall of our society, that inability.
Agreed! People will actually double down on their nonsense rather than reconsider their argument. There’s no debating anything anymore. (Some) People would rather scream at you while covering their ears so that they don’t mistakenly hear any facts that might negate their position.
You're absolutely right, too many folks who couldn't think critically if their lives depended on it. They form an opinion based on bad information and then throw tantrums when presented with facts.
It's not that he's unable, it's that he was pretending to be an opponent in the first place, rather than trying to be a serious opponent. He's not there to be real, he's there to waste time. A troll is what we call it.
I wonder what life has done to this person to bring them to the low point of trolling a conversational forum and imagining that it's somehow a good idea to do so.
This is why I left Florida. This childish mentality and actions are pretty rampant in the area I'm from. I never want to go back, especially with how backwards the state is moving. :/
I have heard this guy before...he calls ALL the shows....pretty much he likes to here himself talk.....never answers a question and always speaks down ( or tries to)to the hosts. And that darn thing he does with his voice..... By the way..today I learned what a Fallacy Composition is. Cool. 👍
How the fuck is his mind knitted? I give him that he seems to be young and, I guess, is mislead by a awful environment he still grows up. He laughs when hunted down, that's a sign he can't cope with what was said because he admits the hosts are right and he's wrong. A typical affective reaction. It was literally fun to listen to you guys handling him, or rather destroying his bs views on scepticism. Well done!
I love Vi and Eric. So calm, so ready to kindly listen. Very open very sincere and very ready to be proved incorrect. So, theists, prove them incorrect..
😂 imagine saying that you have THE answer to the universe and simultaneously wanna hold a point that THEY FOUND THE ANSWER and that we can’t find the answer... WHAT? 😆 😂 😝
Eric has come a long way IMO. I used to struggle through, but I'm really appreciating his methods and style now. Also, this guy reminds me of a flat earther, Red Pill Philosophy, who keeps saying skeptic over and over again and doesn't have the first clue what it means.
Also this guy resembles a flat earther in that when you ask one a question they divert, start talking about something else, then get mad and start behaving like a 4 year old
I cant stand Red pill philosophy. She hasn't got a clue what she's even talking about and when she says "scientism" as if it's a religion really does my heading.
Eric: Rome? Rome. Rome? Rome. Rome? ... Not Greece. Narrator: Little did Eric know that it was indeed... Greece. Eric would be so at home on the set of a sitcom
This happens a LOT with theists. They either misunderstand or try to use words or ideas in a specific way, usually in a muddy or weasely way, that doesn't comport with either reality or the way you have used it in the context of the conversation. Then you have to spend so much time correcting their use or idea that you never really have a conversation about anything substantive. It is frustrating.
Wow, you guys rock! This is but the second SG I’ve watched but bravo, you calmly handled that guy who was clearly trying to get a rise out of you but you won’t play his game. Subscribing for sure and can’t wait to check out more.
Wow, this was gold!!! This guy could cry a goblet of sweet, sweet snowflake tears for me to sip durring a bubble bath. Well done, staying calm and in control.
If we’re ruining the country as far as people like “Chad” see it then I think we’re ultimately doing a good thing. The fact he sounded like he was crying at the thought warms my heart🥰
This call is a representation of the struggle skeptics have in their attempts to understand a theist point of view. While trying to figure it all out, theists take it as a challenge and attack the skeptics. Guys like Chad are just making things worse, deciding to "attack" by proving how ignorant he is... and then being proud of it.
A lot of us skeptics are already quite familiar with the theist point of view. The struggle is keeping the theists on track to make any valid arguments.
Im in South Africa and have been watching all the atheist shows for year. I know you know Tracy Harris and could you please ask her to be a guess on you guys show, she also handles people so so well. she will suit your show , she is wonderful . please
Ok just started the video. I’m happy that this articulate young man is on the call. I sure hope he doesn’t cry over his father’s military service and go on to yell out his deepest desires :D
Sadly he’s not a small minority in not only what he thinks , but in how he thinks . I bet he’d be pretty angry if he ever realized Jesus wouldn’t of been Anglo Saxon in appearance and was very communist in his actions too .
Ssshhhh, western chauvinist and Christian Nationalist are not ready for black socialist jesus. Small steps, we need to fix the broken education system and hope the next gen will be gifted with the ability to think critically.
So a number of things indicated to me immediately that he was a troll: 1. Name: Chad (let's face it, it's not a real name anymore. Chad exists solely for memes). 2. Pronouns: He/They (the joke is that he's a "they" because he will never be "Him") 3. 6:45 "Well I understand that *ma'am*"
But that damn war had a draft, where hundreds of thousands of innocent men were forced to fight. These poor men deserve our thanks and pity. If letting them feel they did so for their country helps them cope, I'm all for doing exactly that.
@@stephenjackson7797 I disagree with that last sentiment. We should not perpetuate the lie that soldiers fight for our freedoms when they don't. It prevents us from having a collective understanding that could finally put an end to these wars of geopolitical and corporate interests. The drafted soldier is a victim, for sure. But we cannot lie about which interests are being served. We should instead be righteously outraged that Americans were forced, or today misled, to fight for interests other than the safety of their fellow Americans. Instead we have told the abused that they were abused for a good cause, allowing more and more to be misled to do the same.
I don't think Chad understands that this conversation had value that was actually the opposite of what he "thought" it did. I really appreciate the way Eric and Vi dismantled his attempts to mischaracterize skepticism. Nicely done. It seemed to short circuit Chad toward the end.
It all went bad for Chad that moment when : A ) his parental units made the decision to name him Chad. B ) he stopped regulating his meds. C ) he was introduced to psychedelics. D ) he was conceived. or E ) All of the above.
In a real life, person to person convo, where I’m from, that laugh would have resulted in his face being kicked-in. I know, that’s not productive but it would shut him up for awhile and make think about shit.
Absolute certainty can't be obtained, get over it. It's that way for everyone. However we can be reasonably/maximally certain of a great many things. This dim one offers _absolutely no solutions._
Chad had his script in place and boy was it a crappy one. A very low level of intelligence displayed by this guy. The hosts were patient beyond belief.
@@SkepticGeneration Nice! Eric and Vi (to an extent, Talk Heathen) was my fave out of the bunch (AE, Truth Wanted, etc). I like how you two engage in back and forth discussion, your humanistic outlook, and bridging the gap between people with different beliefs / non-belief. Something seemingly amiss from those other shows, I guess your overall levels of empathy and understanding stands out to me more than the other shows. I wish you all at Skeptic Generation the BEST, subbing and you'll def see me around. Great work!
My take is that the caller's first (fundamental) inference is wrong: If you can't trust you senses and your rationality, then you MUST be skeptical of your own conclusions.
For an example of a non skeptical atheist, he did not believe in evolution, or even really other ideas I had heard for life and diversity. He believed life had always existed in it's current state and earth was infinite. Everything used to live together and slowly species die out. I asked about evolution, the age of the universe, etc, and he basically just said it made more sense that everything just always existed.
Because we can’t necessarily be sure that what our senses are interpreting is true then anything we imagine to be true is just as reasonable to believe?
