I have always said that the weight associated with running a BBF (or any gnarly big block) in a racecar doesn't all come from the engine- most of it comes from the weight of parts strong enough not to be destroyed by the torque. A moment of silence for this guy's drivetrain, for it knows not the buttkicking it is about to receive....
I actually went from an Iron Headed Cleveland in my 86 Mustang, to a Aluminum Headed BBF and Lost 105 lbs. Not many times do you go from a Small Block to a Big Block and Lose weight, But at the same time Swapped out the Stock Heavy K Member, Control Arms, Factory Springs, And replaced All that with UPR Chromemoly Tubular components, Along with Coil Over Struts. So I'm assuming most of my weight savings might be coming from the Suspension Stuff, But Those Iron 351 Cleveland Heads are So Heavy, I'm thinking that's were my weight loss mostly came from.
...and THAT is THAT, folks....ya make the power, its gotta be strong enough to not fold up like a beer can.......this is where exotic parts made of titanium and CF come into play and that play is always $$$,$$$ or $,$$$,$$$
Thanks for showing us Big Ford Fans some Love, that Beast is plenty capable of some Big Numbers, especially with Those Twin 98,s, and 598 Cubes I'm Guessing North of 3500 hp ???
Wow. Between the connecting "rod exodus" engine and now this dyno... All I can say is that when Steve Morris blows stuff up, he just goes ALL the way! I have never seen anything like what you have put up on display the last couple of weeks here. Unreal. Thank you for showing us all the real deal sir! Fred
Yea I tried to do this in my head too lol. I'd guess ~2hp/ci @ 600 ci would be like 1200hp NA, and 14.7 = 1bar so 44ish is like 3x that HP so up in the mid 3600hp range??? I want to see the IAT on this monster @ 40psi boost on alky.
As a Ford guy, I love seeing them mix up the constant stream of Chevy stuff. Especially because it always puts the hurt on. Love your stuff, but it bugged me seeing the turbos labled backwards. Convention in the automotive trade is to label left and right as if you're sitting in the driver's seat, so in my mind they're on backwards lol.
So the only iron bits in that are the crank, the sleeves, the main caps, the pins, and the bolts! That's wild! Almost easier to list what's not aluminum. Lol
@@mrnastytime420 That got nothing to do with it, if that's your cup of tea, have at it, It ain't nothing new Nowadays. As for for being a "Ford guy for life" that's just standing behind your Brand Preference, No matter what, for instance, if Bob Glidden had a bad weekend at a Race somewhere, couldn't get his Dominating Ford running right for some reason and qualified at the Bottom of the Field, and didn't do great during Eliminations, Do you think he jumped ship and went with GM Power ? No he wouldn't, Cause he's Ford for Life, like many of us, he knew what the Best was back in the early 70,s and he just stuck with Ford, granted 1 year he did run Mopar, But was Always a "Ford Guy".
@@CoyoteFTW I Know all them Ford Guys, Jon Kaase a Ford Legend when it comes to making BBF,s run with the best of em. Learned from working with Dyno Don.
Hey Steve absolutely love your videos and hang out for them all week. One thing I also love are your mannerism's and quotes that you say throughout your videos, I am a fan of Billy Bad Boy and laugh every time I here it. Any chance we will see that on a Tee shirt or Hoddie at some stage. Anyway thankyou for the great content and tech.
Hey Steve , don’t sweat that set of rods that crumbled. It was a freak thing. Has to be chemistry of the metal. Everybody that knows you knows you use quality only parts. They also know you stand behind you product 👍✌️
damn 598ci exploded the dyno ford has a factory 554ci bbf(went in fire trucks dylan mcool has one) and theres a aftermarket 632bbf as well imagine those twin turbo theyd shred the dyno
@@Rocksolidbullys - username checks out 🥴 probably just a social media key board warrior cheby humper. Cheby is trash. I wish Pontiac would’ve survived and they would’ve scraped cheby junk
@@Rocksolidbullys lol, before the LS it was always cheaper and easier to make hp with Ford, Ford big block were far more durable than GMs. since the LS it just got too easy and that is why, except I will still take a Blown Coyote vs any of the new LS offerings with cyl deactivation garbage, ask Cleetus about it
Oh shit I was watching to your video thinking this was some noob engine builder lol I didn't even see who's channel I was watching it just popped up on my feed and then at the end I hear "anyway, this is Steve Morris" I was building a little metal puzzle thingy here and I stopped and looked up and was like oh shit like THE Steve Morris??!! I'm a huge fan Steve, you build some bad ass engines brother!
Steve, I imagine you able to build billet parts for that Dyno to make it deal with the big hp stuff Is its it just not worth it? PS you almost slipped on that 4500hp lol bad ass piece and I’m not a Ford Guy but how can you not love that!
I don't know what my problem is but when somebody says uh...um... over and over when they're speaking, I feel like someone has set my hair on fire. A man says what he means and means what he says, so... don't spit it out until your brain is ready. ✌
I use to rebuilt water brakes on drilling rigs . They were similar to these I think.. just a lot bigger . That engine loosing load reminds me of a jet boat that comes out of the water with your foot on the throttle. It seems to be hard on valve train and your pocket lol
