Nice. You see these a lot in Yemen during Friday prayers or any large gathering where people will be sitting around. I thought it was pretty clever and was surprised at how comfortable they are. They really do ease back strain. Again, nice.
Yes. Traditional use during prayer and yoga type environments. I remember I tried one year ago on vacation and couldn't believe how comfy it was. So I whipped one up when I got home.
Great idea! I directly made one for myself. Not as light as yours (80grams), but with a 20cm wide non slipping backrest and an 4cm strap and Buckle.(the stuff laying around. Perfect for my three day Bikepacking trip tomorrow!!
Yep, just need a bit of support to take the pressure off the back. Anything you have available will work, heck even a long sleeve shirt tied around you 😂
Very cool, is the UL version more of a pain then its worth for the 36grams? I need to grab some of your 8" stakes and would drop one of these guys into the cart as well.
There is no performance difference between the Standard and UL version. Same buckle, but the UL version has the lightest 2" webbing I could find, and it's very expensive. I mean, as long as you don't lose it, it will last your lifetime.
@@Suluk46 10-4 your write up suggested that the UL version slipped more easily which is what I was referring too. Sounds like a it’s not that big of a deal. Thanks!
I can't be certain, but I have had a bad back since I was in my 20's and this literally saves me when I get to camp. Just a little bit of support to take the weight off does wonders for me when sitting around.
Any comparison to the Litesmith chair at the same weight that has a real back on it? I'm assuming the Litesmith could allow the back to relax into it more than this, but the compact size here is appealing.
Tough to compare as it is a totally different product. I used to make one similar years ago, it's not that I didn't like it, just not as convenient or fast as this and you really are limited to using it on the ground. If you watch any of my trip videos, I use it on logs and rocks often when I am eating. And it allows you to totally relax without slipping down.
you come up with some crazy shit, Steve....and I love it. I've ditched the camp chair for the reasons you mentioned in the video, so this is an interesting idea. Gonna have to check it out! 👊🏼
Mock something up and give it a try. I never intended to actually make it a product, I made my own years ago and still use it to this day. Works very well.
