Your video reminded me that this one's still on my to buy list.(The gold one on a black leather strap.) Yes, it's not the best bang for one's buck. Why then so popular? I can't speak for others, but imo it's the simple elegance and retro nostalgia. Also it's a true unisex watch that fits most wrist sizes, a real strap monster...and it's a CASIO, of course.
I have a black variant which I bought for half the price you mentioned, it was during a eoss offer. And man, I just love this simple watch especially while wearing casuals. And I've got the most number of enquiries while I had it in my wrist.. I have a slim wrist and it suits me so well.. always one of my favourite Casio.😊 And thanks for the mention at the intro .😂
This so called "tiffiny blue" colour ain't my thing but I really wish if this and AQ800E have a backlight and a solid batons shaped minute markers as you mentioned it would've made the watch perfect!

Its a good watch,looking good on your wrist sometime it does not excite at first glance but they mau slowly do. But the only problem i see is the. resin glass casio is using in every watch.

People buy it because it’s popular and Popularity has a cascading effect.. My friend who bought MTP-1302 in Tiffany/Turquoise also felt that it’s hyped and overpriced.. Most of the people who eat at Vidyarthi Bhavan wonder “why on earth is it so popular ?”, but I see a hundred people waiting outside every time I pass by the restaurant !

Bro don't want to demotivate you but I really don't think this timepiece is attractive.. Moreover nowadays Tiffany is just a hype, I still believe white, black, blue or brown dial is still classic and adds special attention.
