These tech upgrades always end up with one of 3 outcomes 1. Linus stress-tests his employee 2. The employee stress tests linus 3. They both stress test the employee's partner
It's always so weird to me that they're literally being given a shopping spree, and they complain so much. I don't understand whether it's an act or just ungrateful behavior.
@@Deviloffateful??? Do you mean the moment where he makes that strange face and then immediately runs off camera before the transition? That was not a face of anger and more of a face of oh. I can do this. Really cool thing and from what he said on last night's WAN show, he realized pretty much as he made that face the epic transition he could do to the next scene
@@the_undead oh ok, I assumed it was the most recent wan show but could not find it in the timestamps guy comment, so I meant like when in the show like a timestamp. etc. no problem tho Im sure Ill hear it eventually.
@@TheSkcube in canada the protected term is "professional engineer" as a network engineer who is friends with a civil engineer i have learned random things.
Especially since she is a liscensed PE. For those that don't know becoming a liscensed professional engineer involves a whole rigamarole, and multiple very hard exams after you've already graduated college and joined the workforce.
@@danielbricker7204 from engineers Canada "Claiming to be an engineer without being licensed is against the law. Titles such as Professional Engineer, Professional Licensee (engineering), P. that guy called @chicken copied your comment word for word Edit: Not sure if they deleted it when I called them out or they just got buried but the comment is no longer there.
Not an engineering degree, but a Professional Engineer certification! Much harder to get! (I would guess less than 30% of engineers are certified like that)
I love Kyle and Linus interaction. Kyle was so nervous and suddenly becomes as smooth as a cucumber when he is explaining his dream table. We need more Kyle!!!
@@pablomax9376projecting where you blame/assume everyone gas your bad habits and try to pin it on them first. Gets truely awkward when you apply this to someone who'd never ever do those things, and everyone else knows this.
@@pablomax9376 projecting is a psychological term for when someone blames someone else that was their fault, or attributes personality traits/faults to someone that are really their own. AKA: You feel bad for lying so you think everyone is lying to you. Disclaimer: this is not the best explanation probably. Just look it up, it's not just a Canadian term
@@pablomax9376no it is a pretty common term. It means accusing someone else of something you feel or do. Classic example is someone accusing their partner of cheating on them and being insecure when they are the one who has cheated in a relationship. Or pretty much anything Trump says about his opponents
Her face when he said "that's a you problem" and her comeback "it's YOUR table, it's a YOU problem". He's probably slept next to his table that night. Even more so the fact she's an engineer as well...
That table looks awesome! Our accessories are a perfect fit. Looks like you really nailed - great job 🔥. Glad we could help, keep up the great work! 💪 much love, - Wyrmwood
For those not in the know, getting a Mechanical Engineering degree is TOUGH... Getting a "Professional Engineer" Certificate (requires an Engineering or Engineering related degree, 4-8 years of experience AND pass what many consider to be the hardest Engineering exam, the FE exam) is no joke... As an Engineer, I know dozens of Engineers... I only know 2 Professional Engineers. She LEGIT
Love that Kyle is a board and tabletop gamer, and that he designed his own gaming table, "borrowing" designs from Wyrmwood and another defunct designer, and that Wyrmwood was okay with it. If you don't want to change the matt, putting it under the side rails isn't bad. Always listen to your wife when putting together furniture, especially if she's an engineer. I really want a gaming table.
I have plans to put together a gaming table specifically for D&D. Tabletop will be a 60 inch multi-touch screen to use as the main screen for Roll20, powered by an SFF PC underneath. Each player also gets a tablet for their Character Sheet, and can swap to Roll20 as well. Table will be adjustable up and down for ease of use. Gonna run about $1500, but will be AMAZING when it's done. GM area will have an attached screen for the GM view, too.
I can't help but wonder if by chance the free ad-space from LTT video played part in Wyrmwood coming to agreement 😉 On the other hand, Wyrmwood is kinda known to be the good guys so it could be also just a gesture of good will
When I saw the thumbnail I thought the table was just a wyrmwood one with custom legs. The fact that you reverse engineered it so well from their videos is IMPRESSIVE.
29:12 We're so used to tech bro Linus, it's quite sweet how "dad" Linus comes out, even the honesty with the kids about how much longer he needs their dad.
Years and years and years ago, when I first started watching LTT - over 10 years ago by now - it was actually the way Linus talked to his kids that convinced me to get behind the channel, help fund the move, buy merch and keep on rooting for them through good times and bad.
@@rather-reverendI feel the same way when Linus just shows how well mannered his kids are! The way they say please and thank you just shows that a lot of effort was put into raising them well
It's almost impressive that in a video containing both Elijah and Linus, somehow neither of them were the most frantic and chaotic mess-makers in this thing.
I love it but I have to say its gotta be weird comming upstairs and seeing your boss with your kids and wife reading them a story xD things 99.99999% of people will never experience
This is it, folks. Someone's gonna revolt inside LTT and make their own channel while Linus continues his path to being a Bad Boss(TM) before completely shutting down.
You can see on his face when he realized the opportunity was there for that transition and ran upstairs to allow for it. He was talking about it on WAN
Everybody in this comment section talking about, "I love the chemistry between these three" but the truth of the situation is on Elijah's face when he walks in during Linus' transition. Kudos to the way they bounced back though and finished out the video on a positive note.
That’s so nice to accept that someone has that skill to recreate your concept as your putting it into production, that instead of putting them down you give them a pass for personal use one off and send them some accessories for being decent to get hold and ask if your ok with the accidental infringement due to timing
If he really reverse engineered that patent before it was properly filed the patent is probably dead anyways, at least here in Europe that would no longer be considered patent worthy.
I don't know about Canada, but my understanding is that in the US patent doesn't protect a company from someone making something for personal use, just from commercial use/sale.
They got the best free shoutout they could hope for 😁 "We make such a good product that this enthusiast built his own." Most people don't have the energy to do that and just buy it if they want it.
@@girlsdrinkfeck He is, but the video which displays the table is made by LTT. So they could have been in trouble. But not from Wyrmwood. 😅 But they too slack with their intellectual property 🤣. But, that could have ended up in another Frank's video 😂.
This video was amazing, for real, I haven't laughed this much in a LTT video in a long time. Everything was so real, those three guys just going at each other was so fun to watch, and Kyle is such a nice dad and husband, congratulations guys this might actually be my favorite 5k Tech Upgrade ever.
He like the awkward uncle that asks about a hobby you both know you quit 5 years ago but he's just trying to make small talk. "Yes, karate is going great, thanks". I love it!
Seeing Kyle explain how his gaming display around his TV has been slowly taken over by his little one, really hit home for me. I used to love my TV unit. Now it's just a place to store nappies and whatever my 3 year old decides to take out of his mouth when we're not looking.. This week I've found a few dozen McDonalds fries, from his Happy Meal, to a half-eaten Fish finger, stored behind a family portrait... I miss my SNES and N64. :(
lol dont make it sound like it's such a depressing thing to have YOUR child's stuff around your home. that's why u should plan first where you'll have your kid's things before having one. have sacred no-no areas where you can't have kid stuff around for your peace and balance. and besides, that's the way of life in having a child. they're kids in nappies for a short period of time, they grow fast so you don't really have to worry too much.
I love this so much. This video is like watching my brother and I "help" our dad with a project. Kyle is such a dad, and Linus and Elijah are absolute goofballs.
24:23 I was gonna say the topper leaves he made look exactly like the topper leaves from Wyrmwood, any other Wyrmling watching would have instantly noticed how much the table design looks like the MGT lol. The fact that he reverse engineered everything is hilarious. Cool to see they also sent him some of the accessories for the magnetic rails, too.
They prolly felt like "damn, he reverse engineered it just from vids? Give him a pass + magnetic stuff to see how it fits". Prolly sees it fit now & be like "damn!"- again.😂😂
For real, I saw the thumbnail and my first thought was 'Cool, he bought an MGT with his AMD money. And of course the title mentions two years because Wyrmwood takes a while to ship stuff.' Imagine my surprise when the legs don't match an MGT and then later they start talking about the patents
Wyrmwood probably felt that since it's for personal use it's fine, and also having a video which essentially advertises their table/design will be good for their business.
Can relate to Kyle. When you get to work and want to focus and actually do some stuff done, A LOT of puns and jokes go over your head. :))) I think this is my favorite Tech Upgrade to date. Love the chaos, love the theme and the people (of course). NICE!
@@JWNGeorgeso here is the thing, after wyrmwood put in that patent, they could of easily stopped him especially as it was on video, after the patent was put in. they were chill with it. I never denied he built it for himself, my comment was 1, stating it was nice a company whose main product he replicated was chill with what was done and 2, applauding the work that was done
@@Tomrom52I dont think you get what the other commentor is saying. Patent law( in the EU and most places outside of north america) allows people to manufacture patented goods for personal use. However what you're saying is the case in the US(and maybe canada?) so im guessing its just confusion from law differences
Ayo loving the content. Love the mix between home comedy and straight up explanation. I know you try to incorporate this in many of your vids, but this hits it off for me. Loving the trio
I built little TEC cold plates for our lab when we were using the PTM material in our servers. Just place your sheet on it, peel off the top layer, place the square on your cpu, place the cold plate on top for a few minutes, pull it off and peel the second layer of plastic off. Made it way easier to install. Tip: you want the initial square to be 80% of the area of the heat spreader/die. Once it melts the mounting pressure squishes it the rest of the way. 80% ensures complete coverage with minimal excess squishing out of the sides.
Damn, that table is gorgeous. Kyle is really freaking good at what he does, huh? That's amazing work right there, especially when you know he reversed engineered some of it. Really fun episode. Kudos to everyone involved, including AMD.
8:40 I cant find fault in his logic. 10/10 would follow into battle. Also, I know LTT has had it's ups and most deffinently it's downs, I still enjoy the content you guys produce! im glad LTT continues to grow!
as a technician at an auto shop i can 100% tell you that this is exactly how we sound while working on your cars. constant bickering and back and forth and way more innuendos than i care to admit. thanks for giving me an example to show people linus :)
I'm not even much of a tabletop gamer, but that table is so cool. Definitely my favorite tech upgrade video so far. I would love something like that for poker night
Elijah is fast becoming a fan favourite I think - his ability in front of the camera has come a long way from his first appearance. Treat him well LMG.
I just have to say. I love Elijah. He takes so many of the videos to the next level. His comedic timing and pithy comments are perfect. Well done editors for making him invaluable
Easily new favourite. Even after the beard points reduction. These three make a perfect recipe. I am also obligated to commend the editor/s who decided to use the tabletop color for the outro.
You weren’t kidding about the amount of stuff on cutting room floor… I’m now gonna have to subscribe to Floatplane, as i need to see all that i missed… i can see loads of stuff is missing and he’s also a really clever guy and i like his ideas
