I get so emotional hearing opera as it was my mum’s favourite genre. Unfortunately lost her 15 years ago. She would have loved listening to that amazing talented lady. Thank you so much for sharing.
I've known Sonya since she was a kid (she's good friends with my 22yo). I've been hearing her sing since she was in elementary school plays. I'm so proud of her!
I am mesmerised, lost, unable to speak a coherent word or think a coherent thought. This duo gave me chills. Even a baby would stop crying to hear such a heavenly voice. An angel descended into the café. I truly pray that the 30mil viewers helped to launched the career of this total package of beauty, grace, and angelic voice.
You know that you have a gift when everyone stops. I'm not the biggest fan of opera, but when I see someone like this who so clearly loves what they're doing, it gived off such raw emotion that I can't not get emotional myself. It felt like they took us on a journey back in time, and I'm here for it.
Her tone is great! Her pitch at the end isn't. I wonder if that has been an issue for her? Because I agree - Her tone is fantastic, even better than the specialists in Carmen!
I almost cried when I saw her mom’s look. I myself want to become an opera singer, singing and music is literally my life and I wish to pursue it as a career and make and actual living of it. My mom and I don’t have the best relationship, and she’s still skeptical of my decision yet supports it, I am grateful but I just wish she could look at me like that, with immense joy and pride even if I’m not singing in some fancy theatre with thousands of people paying to hear me. I want her to be proud of me for being happy, and I’m so happy this girl has it. I hope everything goes well and I manage to be a successful soprano, and the time my mother looks at me that way will come.

It seems that the best singers often have a bit of an over bite. It seems to help with volume. Ever notice that? I love her tone! Very beautiful mezzo tone!
Perhaps this restaurant should have her pop in for other performances. The only time I've seen a restaurant birthday song that was wonderful was an occasion when an employee sang beautifully in Italian.

I love the talent and skill that mesmerizes the onlooker. I just saw another "surprise" performance of this singer with this pianist in a different video where she asked him to play Carmen for her, so clearly, these are staged events made to appear spontaneous. That said, beautiful voice and accompaniment!

There is a restaurant named Stefanos in the Golden Nugget, downtown Las Vegas. Every hour the waiters and waitresses perform, and yes, some sing Opera.

Thanks for giving a clickable link. I finally watched the whole vid and its amazing. Girl has a great set of lungs and vocals. Youre pretty good too but thats already a given. Her performance though was surprising and unexpected. I dont like opera much but when I hear them singing, I cant deny their awesomeness.
