Improved Big Mac Tacos Recipe (U.S. Measurements)
Ingredients
For the Big Mac Sauce:
3 tbsp mayonnaise
3 tbsp ketchup
1 tsp apple cider vinegar or white wine vinegar
½ tsp Tabasco or your favorite hot sauce
2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp mustard
1 tsp finely minced onion (for an added flavor kick)
½ tsp garlic powder (for a deeper flavor)
For serving:
1 cup of finely shredded iceberg lettuce (more texture and volume)
¼ cup finely chopped dill pickles
1 small onion, finely diced (optional, for added crunch and flavor)
For the Big Mac Tacos:
7 oz ground beef (15% fat for juicier tacos)
Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
4 small flour tortillas
Vegetable oil for cooking
8 slices of American cheese
Optional: ½ tsp of smoked paprika mixed into the beef for a smoky flavor
Instructions
For the Big Mac Sauce:
Combine all the sauce ingredients in a bowl and whisk together. Let it sit for about 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
For serving:
Prepare the lettuce, pickles, and optional onions. Set aside.
For the Big Mac Tacos:
Season the ground beef with salt, pepper, and optional smoked paprika. Press a thin layer of beef onto each tortilla.
Preheat a skillet or griddle over high heat until smoking.
Lightly oil the pan, then place one tortilla beef-side down. Flatten using a spatula or saucepan bottom. Cook for about 1-2 minutes, then flip.
Immediately place two cheese slices on the beef and cover with a lid for 30 seconds to melt the cheese.
Remove from the pan and set on a wire rack in a warm oven (set at 240°F) to keep them crisp but not soggy.
Repeat with the remaining tacos.
To serve:
Top each taco with shredded lettuce, Big Mac Sauce, pickles, and optional onions. Serve immediately for the best taste and texture.

Dave, for help in opening tough jars, tap the side of the lid on the floor a few times. It loosens the seal. It works. Also, I enjoy your cooking videos. I also get a smile. We laugh because we've been there with you in the kitchen trying new stuff.

These are great make them all the time . I use a cast iron round bacon press … you probably pick one up at a garage sale .. 😮🤕🩹Next time you burn hand or finger cold water 💦 or a mild ice bath .. ❤or you can put wax paper on the meat side and roll with rolling pin

Hey Dave, when the jar won’t open, take a butter knife and just put it right on the edge between the jar and the glass rim and give it a light twist and it releases the pressure and you can pull the litter right off.

I saw a smash burger video the other day where they used a saucepan to smash the burger under the tortilla. I haven't tried it either way, but I think when I do I'll use the saucepan.

For smash burgers use the flimsy spatula on the patty and the stronger one pushing down straight up and down. The stronger spatula should be used perpendicular for force and the flimsy is used to distribute the force across the whole burger.

Per my OSHA expert, as soon as u burn, run under cold water until you think your burn is good, then still keep under water. I rubbed my hand on a 400° oven coil, and it worked then, and I've used this method many times. Don't wait, need to do immediately. Heal soon. You are good for a laugh always.

For burns, use mustard. It will take the sting out & help prevent blistering. My Grandpa (adopted Dad) was a WW2 vet, mustard was always his go to, something he learned on the war field. It's still always my go to 😊

Next time bang the metal lid of the jar against the counter edge and it'll po the lid. I'm 46 with a bad wrist and do it that way.

Can't wait to try this! Could you use a small pan (preferably cast iron) to press down the burgers? For burn, I recommend aloe vera with lidocaine in the kitchen at all times

Delicious. We make them a lot. Try a double by stacking one on another and a few sesame seeds. The double is like having the extra bread in middle. Again great job!!!!

To get that jar open hold a butter knife by the "blade" and tap the edge of the jar with the weight of the knife handle all the way around. It will open easily then

I love watching u cook. But ouch on the burnt hand. Super cold water on the burn helps. Here is a jar opening tip. Turn the jar upside down, tap the edge of the lid around in several places against the floor, then turn it right side up & open. The tapping on the lid edge will help pop the vacuum & make it easier to open. If it does not open repeat. I always floor my husband with amazement when I do this tip & pop open a jar he could not.

When a jar doesn't want to open, you just turn it upside down and wack the bottom of it a couple times. It should open right up. When you burn your hand do you need to stop what you're doing go to the refrigerator get out the mustard. Shake It up squirt it on the burn area. Leave it for 2 minutes then rinse with cold water. That will stop the burning, cause the redness to go away and prevent blisters.

Smack the bottom of the jar, or the top with a knife. Try a small skillet instead of spatula. I knew the moment was coming and still feel for you. Aloe, keep aloe in your kitchen.

For your hand burn, cover with petrolium jelly,, slip on a hospital glove. Won"t help the pain but will stop it from blistering. Only have to do it once. Next day pain will be gone and you may lose some skin but that's it.

I am sorry that you burned your hand! But, it made me laugh so much. I have tried recipes where you start on the stove with a skillet and move to the oven and I have burned my hand so many times. Aloe should help along with the advice the other viewers recommended.

Can’t use that type of skillet, because you can’t get the leverage of a proper smash. Your Pattie’s have to end up half as thin. Good job though. Use a rolling pin to pre roll. Roll really thin because they will plump a lil.

Ouch! The burn! Neosporin CREAM not ointment, just rub it in or Aquaphor, which is an ointment, heals burns quickly. Disclaimer: I am not a medical professional.
