@abiola373 that was Funny AF 😂😂😂 🎉 thank you I needed that. Cuz I have 3 kids ranging from 2-14. so yepp they would totally try to off the other one into a wall. Love the mental image such love in this house 🤣 🤣.
Pretty incredible design. I wonder why these types of systems aren’t agnostic to the software platforms. In other words; why aren’t they more like hardware that can play whatever VR Games exist regardless of the platform. As soon as I saw that this company had it’s own games I was like… “Darn.” I’ll be buying one when these platforms can run standard Xbox, Sony and Nintendo games. Someday.
Totally get you! Some VR games will be always exclusive to certain platforms which is unfortunate. I think that that's what the Omni is trying to remedy by being compatible with Steam VR games, which is essentially a universal VR platform.
Always funny when people use certain words to act smart and the go an explain what they said because they think everyone else is dumber than them. There is no other reason except ego unless you are maybe a teacher in a classroom setting or somewhere comparable.
Xbox & Nintendo don’t even make VR games and they sure as hell aren’t cross compatible. You can play games from your computers library on this system like he said in the video, so yeah it can play “whatever VR Games exist.”
People want to play games competitively and there is no way to make a joy stick competitive. It’s just not there yet, maybe in another 20 years we’ll see it
I think it took a long time to make a consumer-ready product that people would actually want to buy. Plus I'm sure there are quite a few years of engineering behind it.
Great coverage on this, I would love to see a feature that allows the Omni arm to mimic in-game physics by allowing to hold you up when you jump and bringing you back down. This is a great addition to the VR experience so far. Just imagine where we'll be in just 10 years with this tech.
KAT VR is better, it is cheaper about $900 and supports all VR games, unlike this platform, and there is no subscription or your own games, just take KAT VR and play any VR games
Can you try suddenly stop moving forward and fast stepping backward? I am kind of worry how this Virtuix Onmi One support this action safely, as it has 3 movable joints on the supporting arm..... Also can it detect and send "JUMP" and "CRUNCH" instruction to PC games?

I'd like to hear from someone who has tried both models. I have extensive experience with all KatVR models. This model is interesting in that you can back up a foot or two when you have to dodge backwards, thanks to the flexing arm. That could be very useful in games.
This is great for physical health! Overweight people (like myself) who love gaming could be more easily encouraged to exercise with games. Plus running is really good at burning calories.
I prolly would consider getting this if it actually lets us play standalone game titles from the Quest 2…I also don’t like how you need a subscription service to to play their games…from all the reviews I’ve seen on this treadmill, the games they offer seem pretty outdated/arcadey in gameplay style compared to how modern vr games are nowadays

Cyberdyne in Japan with their HAL exo skeleton limbs are the revolution in nerve feedback, if they were to make VR equipment you could lie still in bed and move freely around in VR.
I believe this omni-directional treadmill is promising. As a Meta quest 3 user, one of the most annoying issues is that you have to concern your moving area, which significantly reduces immersion. But if you choose to play still on your seat (many VR games have two navigation options, you know), the mismatch between your body movement and the movement that your vestibule sensor perceives leads to cybersickness. This treadmill found a way to compromise between the body movement and the moving area to ensure safety. I can image that embodiment and presence will be highly promoted when using it.
I had the KAT VR Treadmill, there's ones now that are much cheaper, around 700 USD. And i bought my first version, kat walk c for over 3k. 😅 Plus Kat VR can play all Stream VR games with locomotion 😊
@@Zulushi awesome. Please do. I sold my original KAT VR Treadmill for a price I couldn't refuse. Now I'm looking to see if it's worth me getting the C2... 😃
The concept offered by Omni is great and has a lot of potential, but unfortunately the price of $2,600 is completely prohibitive. And from what I understand, it is not compatible with other famous games and other VR glasses. If do not have Steam compatibility on PCVR in Quest 2, 3 and with games such as Contractors Showdown, Pavlov, THE WALKING D, The Walking D Saints & S. RE4 VR among others. It's going to be a disappointing launch.
You are essentially walking in place with protection against falling and hitting things. Treadmill function is a must for this product to make movement feel realistic.
I hope this is the future of video game in. I’m looking forward to having fun and getting a workout at the same time. My gaming sessions are going to be cut down from four hours to 10 minutes 😂
Does the harness allow you to dodge left and right as if avoiding a punch when boxing or are you can you only up down and pivot? also some kinda spring type counter balance would be dope to take the stress off of pushing forward when running, somthing with programmable tension to help mimic jumping in low gravity or super jumps, imagine super mario or cod zombies moon map (terrifying) jump from high spots would have my stomach in knots lmao
It looks like they have the arm part down now, but the platform is still way too small. If it was bigger you could take bigger steps, even skip but as of right now you can only take small baby steps. ALSO if it had an arm locking mechanism with a sitting platform, for possible driving sims. idk how that would work, the arm doesn't have motors to articulate late you around. Couple more versions and we'll be at Ready Player One. I do wonder if these types of systems will ever implement stuff like stairs or falling..
So then you can confirm that Omni software allows you to play 3rd party free locomotion VR games like Half Life Alyx? Because there’s been lot of skepticism on Reddit about this, since Virtuix isn’t making PCVR compatibility a selling point. Which I think they absolutely should.
I showed my wife this. She said she would buy me this for Christmas. I love my wife!🤣 Edit* Question: can I use my existing Quest 2 with it? They look similar. Wouldn't be a bad idea to work with Meta on this, too. I figured something like this wouldn't come out until I was about 70.
That's amazing haha! So you would be able to use the Quest 2 in PCVR mode with the Omni One. But if you don't have a gaming PC, you'd only be able to use Omni's headset.
Some other con or non-con questions not covered in this presentation: 1. Is the warranty covered for life? Considering wear and tear. 2. The quality per vid streamed seemed around 30fps. Is it 60fps or better? 3. Cost for games? 4. Have not seen enough jumping mechanics. Considering many games have double jumps/high jumps and possibly FLYING ( Ironman Vr for example ), there may be a need for an upgraded OMNI down the road.
I have to disagree on one point. The fact that the system is open and you can use any PCVR game wit the Omni is absolutely key. I’ve had the original Omni for years, and thanks to the third party software that allows me to play it with PCVR, it is my daily treadmill.
i really want one can you tell me how much it cost, and i really wanted it so please if your reading this so if you let me know and all i am gonna say is that i wanted to use it for vr chat and put it on you tube.
I am getting this in November but I have a question. You said the when paired on the pc the omni one emulates your joystick inputs. I am hoping you mean that you mean that you can still move with your foot trackers and that it translates it as best in can into joystick controls. I would love to play pc VR games with the ability to move with my feet. That has been the biggest reason I have never gotten a VR headset and it is what I am so interested in about the omni one.
I initially had the same thoughts, but this design actually makes more sense for a consumer. Even though moving parts beneath you might be slightly more akin to walking normally, actually implementing that technology would be a whole lot more expensive and complicated. Maybe in the future though, we’ll see!
Oh man. I just got original Doom (actually Brutal Doom) working through GzDoomVR with my Katwalk C. It was a nightmare getting the controls to work (Index controllers) but this is SO FUN on a treadmill. I think I found my new favorite game.
