I think the reason why Raziel stayed friends with Luca is because sometimes people are too nice and often easily manipulated. Raziel probably felt like she was ruining a long lasting friendship by cutting herself off from Luca since they had been friends since 2018 and had a "decent" relationship with him since then. I bet at first she was only helping Luca with his duties at Nijisanji but she kept doing them so much that Luca could not function without her help and therefore made her feel obligated to help him with everything. I mean, I thought I would deal with a toxic friendship like a normal person would but I couldn't break myself off of her because we had been friends since 4th grade. Leaving a toxic relationship, especially if they have isolated you, is not as easy as "Oh just leave". That is king of very insensitive thing to say, even if leaving is the correct action. You said it yourself, they are both not mentally well.

There is a reason why victims seldom leave their abusers. They were/are being emotionally manipulated. The same has happened here as well, it was established early on in their relationship with the abusive mother. Furthermore, abusers search for their potential victims, usually more empathetic people, who are prone to put the well being of others above their own, due to their own circumstances (trauma, family education, etc). Putting blame on her for "why are you not leaving/stopping contact with him" is the worst part of this video. As someone who's been with a very toxic ex and who abused me till I was a mental trainwreck. He manipulated me into staying, he would constantly switch between being toxic and giving me all his love which lead to me being very dependent of him. Something I would like to mention is that abuse victims often find it very, very difficult to cut off relations with the perpetrators abusing them, being subjected to extensive manipulation, and especially in this case, emotional torment. Not gonna blame the girl tho. To much of the manipulation caused her this. Mujin... I understand putting blame on both, it makes sense; however I would try to understand the mindset of abuse victims. There is a reason why the battered wife keeps going back to her husband. There is a reason why the boyfriend comes back to the girlfriend after she just got him arrested by pretending to be beaten. Edit: Yeah. Yeah that sounds like her friendship with Luca was so toxic that she felt like she had to be there for him because of the manipulation he was doing to her. Been here to my dismay. I think the main reason Raziel might not have distanced herself from Luca after he just did something without her consent might have been due to shock and maybe even justification on her end. It's very common that people do this when in toxic situations and given that Luca trauma dumped on her, she was likely afraid of what could happen if she called him out on his behavior. In her mind at the time it might have felt like she'd be kicking him while he's already down. That's my take on it as I once had a friendship turned toxic where I tried to justify the antagonizing my former friends were doing to me.

'who knows, they're both mentally unwell' is an embarrassingly stupid takeaway - of course she was mentally unwell, she was being abused! the thing that often causes mental illness! HUH?!?! a good rule of thumb is to evaluate abuse not based on who's acting weirder, but on tangible harm done to each other. luca has cost this girl her privacy, her health, her job (multiple times!), potentially her relationship, and her right to human decency, apparently, if you're comfortable making funny stock photo edits of an experience that almost cost her her life. alternatively, she has cost luca nothing, and instead gave him her utmost support however she could - up to and including doing his damn job. if only for your own safety, please reevaluate how you think of these things, because they DO happen to normal people and if we act like they don't, then we will be next.

No offense, but it’s actually very hard to leave a toxic relationship, even when the signs are all right there for people not involved in it, when you’re actually part of the relationship and you’ve been conditioned to think a certain way, your brain will latch itself to any and all excuses to keep being in it. Yeah, they both have issues, yeah, they need professional help, but let’s not be TOO neutral on the situation. Luca is in the wrong, period, if the alleged toxic friendship is true (I can buy it being just a friendship. I call my friends “baby” and “love” ironically, and toxic friendships are actually harder to spot than toxic relationships from my experience, because there’s the expectation that best friends also treat each other like crap). I do not hope for anyone to ever have this kind of relationship in their life. It sucks.
