With the Announcement of Onslaught AKA The Horde Mode which is dropping in about 2 weeks.
Were going to need builds that Excel in that kind of content and here is a prime example that I want you all to wrap your brains around for me real quick.
When you are defending a point and you have all these Hive Wizards and Hive Knights rushing you like you see on screen. Just imagine if your running a Solar Hunter with Nighthawk and Polaris like I see in every LFG GM. And this was the easier mode on wave 19 and 35. So Imagine Legendary difficulty and pushing wave 40 or 50.
How is that Build going to stop them. You'd have to hit every single precision shot as there charging which lets be real, 95% are not hitting all those. And since your running healing grenade you have nothing to crowd control those enemies with.
Now I'm not saying it's impossible, but there are going to be Builds that will perform so much better in Horde mode and we want to check a few boxes with those Builds to make sure there the best we can make them for Horde mode.
We want a High uptime in abilities especially grenades. There still the best way to handle many enemies at once and they just do so much for us overall. We also want a Super that Hits hard, That's a Given, but can also be used for waves of enemies if need be and we want to cycle back to it as quickly as possible. You can literally just chain Orbs of Power off of your Supers. We want Multiple sources of Crowd control within the Build to control all the enemies. Blinding and Jolt for Example on Arc or Unravel and Suspend on Strand Or Volatile and Weaken with a Void Soul on the Void Subclass. This will make your life 10 times easier in Horde Mode. And then we want Survivability. We want damage reduction from as many places as possible and then healing from as many sources as possible without giving up any of the other pieces.
When we combine everything I just went over we get a Build like I am showcasing today. I have played and tested this in Multiple Grandmasters, Multiple Dungeons and in 1840 Lost sectors and I truly believe its one of the best overall Builds in the game in terms of what it brings to the table for you and your entire fireteam.
