Finally, someone told the problem with the "reference, clear, transparent... sound" terms. On the other hand, I really love the idea of faceplate switching. In my opinion, that is the only way to modify the tunning that makes sense in contrast with the nozzle rolling or the screwdriver thing or the DSP cable. But in the end, if that idea is wrongly applied, then no sense.

I have a couple of IEMs that have different tuning nozzles, but once I've decided on my preference, I rarely change them. So, to me, it's extra effort which I can do with EQ.

We've seen tuning filters, switches and now this swaping faceplates 👍🏽 Appreciate NF audio for at least bringing something different to the community. Who knows, KZ might bring this tech in the budget segment 🤞🏽 or NF audio might include a HBB collab faceplate in future 😊 hoping for that...

As i have stated in my previous comments in the unboxing video, people already have issues having to flip microscopic dip-switches, and now NF thinks it's a better idea to have people fidgeting with minute-sized socket hex screws and a screw driver? And if dip-switches, which are moving parts, are possible failure points; then how much more parts that can be completely detached and are only held on by screws(or in this case, a screw)? And what about the internal circuitry(in both the IEM's main body and as well as the circuitry in the caps)? Wouldn't the detachability of the caps leave the internal circuitry, in both the main body of the IEM and those in the caps, vulnerable to things such as dust, moisture, water; and leave it with less protection in the event that the IEM gets accidentally dropped or sat on, etc... ??? ...and who hasn't dropped their IEM at least once? And to paraphrase what HBB has commented regarding IEMs with dip-switches, "Why not just use a simple button on the side of the IEM; like something similar to what Fat Frequency did with the Grand Maestro?". I echo the same question. Indeed! Why not!? Why not something as simple as that???

This is really interesting! Seems that there is much more scope for meaningful tuning alternatives, with this method, than the swappable nozzles that come with some earphones

I love the innovation in this extremely competitive market.

I understand that this set is meant to be specially to use it as a monitor if you are a musician. So it's a set not for listeners, but for musicians. I like the idea of the caps, would like to try it. Regards.

Yup, already an incredibly difficult price point to get into. But to have a tuning that isn't necessarily the good kind of unique. That's gonna be a difficult sell.

This is like TRN all over again. They got the build quality and quirkiness, but for some bizarre reason, they forgot how to tune. Zero upper treble to be found. NF Audio needs some serious evaluation with how they go about their future sets. I can imagine being an IEM producer isnt cheap stuff, and they're digging themselves a grave right now

Nothing but the truth, surely NF will try again with the faceplates and get it right this time! much more dramatic graph measurable tuning changes than what people are used to with switches. Reminds me of a less refined Tanchjim 4U

NF build quality is always excellent from what i see but yeah they really need alot of help with their tuning

i never believe a company will update their product. $700 is a scary price for what-ifs. I think they should have introduced this tech on a cheap set.

It seems like a lot of effort has gone into these iems, but maybe they should have focused more on the sound rather than the gimmick. Sometimes less is more.

I dig the idea but nah… I do have the NA2+ from NF and do like that. Don’t love it but does have good technicals and great resolution. I do use them to listen to some music. Hopefully NF or someone else runs with this idea. It’s def a cool concept!

It's a shame that they couldn't get it to work because the idea is good especially if the caps could really offer different tunings.

Faceplate cap that you can say I do have that, next is "But" I only use one, no one really have the time to switch every now and then, we only need a pair of iem that you can just pull out, listen and enjoy some music for hours.

That is too bad, it looks nice, and could have been a decent value if the had nailed the tuning caps, since you could get a few IEMs tuning wise. Dip switches are easier, but you are correct, they can't add to it after the fact.

Instead of a screw, they could use some small magnets to switch the faceplate. The tuning is sadly bad though.

The ability to swap crossovers are nice! but if it accidentally falls, it will be one costly mistake.

I don't know anyone who would complain about a free set no matter how bad it is...if they do they are just ungrateful and don't deserve to get them in the first place...but anyway thanks for the info and all that you do for the hobby...this set is a cool idea but not implemented correctly I think maybe this should have been a colab with someone who knows tuning and audio and maybe it would have been better and ready for the marketplace...

Oh this is their flagship? Interesting. I'm not sure about the swapable faceplates. I'd much rather just see a beautiful faceplate. But I mean that's just me.
