Glad to hear you and beach bum are going out!!!! You guys are two of my favorite RU-vidrs!! Can’t wait for the video good luck, have fun, stay safe, and keep your drag tight 👍
I love it when you and Matt do videos together. Matt put me on to your channel almost a year ago. Great video. All I can do right now is sit at home and work on my vintage reel collection. Can’t fish or go anywhere right now. Stay safe!
Hi Brant, I’m from a suburb of Melbourne, Australia & I just had to congratulate you on your video presentations. Unfortunately, we don’t have the fish species here that you mention in your videos, but it’s so interesting to see what the other side of the world is catching . The lures appear similar & the technique is somewhat standard throughout the fishing world. It’s pleasing to watch you catching nice size fish instead of the monsters that other video presentations are prone to concentrate on. In other words, your videos are more realistic to the average angler. Again, congratulations & I have now subscribed to your channel & look forward to future presentations.
How heavy is that jig I see that there’s a couple options for the buccaneer brand also I couldn’t find that bonefish video love your channel man keep it up keeps my spirits up during the lockdown
Caught my first pompano with robs inshore out of perdido key... it’s my new favorite fish! Still need to find a time to come and fish Pensacola with you!
The first video I ever watched from your channel was a pompano catch and cook. I had just caught my first pomps and was looking for a recipe. Since I was new to the panhandle, I found your channel informative and educational. Only problem is I haven’t caught a pompano since! That was over 2 years ago!
Fishing piers are open in Florida I like launching my kayak out at the launch in Gulf Breeze very nice out there. Looks like you were fishing beach at Fort Pickens today
Were you joking about the “last day of freedom”? I’m in the Tallahassee area, and I usually put in at a private ramp, but I don’t know the implications of the quarantine.
Public beaches are closed. Private beaches and launches are open. FWC has social distancing rules, but if you can get a boat out on the water, you can fish.
Lucky you, you can still take the boat out. All boat ramps are closed down here in South Florida! We are landlocked -:( I stare at my boat everyday and wonder when I can ever be on the water again???...
Try the same recipe only a good amount of dill weed. When the fish is done pour the drippings in a small sauce pan and a little more dill maybe 1/4 tsp and 1/3 cup of heavy cream. Reduce down until it's a thin gravy consistency and por it into the fish. You can do the same think with thinly sliced mushrooms rather than dill.
I cooked a fresh Pompano in butter and seasoned it with just pepper and very little salt. It was phenomenal. The flavor of the fish alone was awesome. You definitely don't have to over season them.
I do a similar recipe but I take the pan juices and sauté shallot and less than ripe diced tomatoe in them. Splash and a half of vermouth, lemon juice and red pepper flake and pour over fish.
Look Brant just get Adobo! We island folk been using it for 100 years. Regular Adobo. Add butter and oil too. Watch the difference. You can Adobo to Chicken and Fish. White folk need to try it.
Great video, and I appreciate you leaving those Pomps whole.. no waste, but why don’t you take the gills out? They’re even more delicious when you do..
The governor of Florida's order specifically exempts fishing as an essential activity. So as long as you maintain distance, you can still keep making videos.
Not all counties have engaged in the broad deprivation of liberty. If your county has, go on record with emails and make phone calls. In Miami Dade County you can email the mayor at Mayor@miamidade.gov . Common sense should rule the day. That, and no parties on the sandbars of more than 10 people.
