Well, I saw NONE of this coming 😂 That might have been my FAVOURITE dungeon ever, and that ain't even talking about the Mother Crystal trial.

Shadowbringers: I think Hydaelyn maybe the bad guy. Endwalker: I'M SORRY MOMMY!

After 8 years of FFXIV, seeing Hydaelyn disappear like that made me cry. She was always there when we needed her echo. And watching over us through our journey. Felt like a close friend has left us forever.

Venat is so loving and badass at the same time, i love it. A pure manifestation of a mothers love, strength and will.

The axe is Moenbryda's, and amusingly, the attack it casts is "Love Tap". :D

So glad you were finally able to make it to this part! I expected Soph to be a mess during the cutscene but I guessed incorrectly :P I re-watched one of the Elpis videos again and had some food for thought: I don't think it's coincidence that when Venat spoke to us, the most common thing she said was "Hear, feel, think." If you remember how Meteion introduced herself to other civilizations, one thing she would say was "Hear your words, share your feelings, know your thoughts." It could be a stretch, but I see this as pretty intentional on the writer's team.

Flow, the theme that was playing during Venat's words to the WoL and the Scions have been on repeat in my playlist since EW came out. The words of the song perfectly frames a mother's love for her children. Of love encompassing.

Final goodbyes to venat, the greatest female character in game history for me ,imagine how long she have gone through to this point and entrust everything to us now she can rest assured 😢🤧 cried too

To some going through Shadowbringers it seemed as if there was nothing meaningful in what Hydaelyn did to Zodiark and Aetheris in the Final Days. Players were given the trial and many questioned Hydaelyn's motive. For me personally it was really painful. To have started this journey several years ago and suddenly be forced to question everything I believed Hydaelyn stood for. This quest in particular was so very painful in the best way. It brought absolutely everything full circle. Severed the doubt I held against Hydaelyn, or dare I say mom. And finally let me shed those tears of closure for her knowing she played her part for you and yours. So you all can finally see it through. Silence the Song of Oblivion.

I teared a lot after the trial especially when FLOW started playing. Thank you Venat, we'll find our way for sure! ❤

How many times did we think: "She's not telling us everything", or "She must have some kind of ulterior motive..." As it turned out, both of those statements were true, but for the right reasons. She wanted to make absolutely certain we would be ready to face the truth, and with it, the true enemy. Keep her light with you for the final journey. And good luck, Warriors of Light. :)

I loved seeing Minfilia and Ysayle in that dungeon. I still miss them Each of the Scions answering Venat's call to battle is just an amazing moment. Alisaie's reaction after the trial was mine - it's just horrifying to realize you had to push it so far she was going to die. I still don't understand the monsters who call that poor woman Hydaelyn before she dies.

This expansion has callbacks to EVERYTHING in the entire game. One of the last mobs you fight in the dungeon is in there as a shout out to Palace of the Dead!

My favorite part: "Livia? Who the hell is Livia?" "She reminds me of the Garlean lady in white. What was her name?"

Those final lines from Venat had me balling my eyes out for a good half hour it hit so hard, I love this game like no other

Wipe those tear fellow WoL, Mother Hydaelyn deserve the rest we gave her, And although, Her voice is no longer there to be Heard, Her presence is no longer there to be Felt, For she no longer need to Thought of our wellbeing, Her Love is still here, Deep within our memory and soul, Always. Fun fact, her Ultimate attack after the crystal phase looks like the painting in Qitana Ravel where Hydaelyn heel stomped Zodiark.

The Second boss from the Dungeon was the guy from the Cape Westwind im pretty sure from ARR :3

Illberd, you know who that was. The yellow flame was indeed Papalymo (the icon was Tupismati, Louisoix's staff, that 'lymo held on to and used) The yellow flame that turned into an axe was indeed Moenbryda, Urianger's childhood friend The Sword and Shield you already figured out is Haurchefant Livia is the "White Raven", aka the Garlean chick who's all in white that you fight in Castrum Miridianum (the one where you destroy the shield generators as you progress) The "Dual Shield" boss (with the unpronouncable name) was the garlean boss of Cape Westwind, the easiest trial in the entire game

After that wonderful introduction to The Mothercrystal trial -- running it as a Trust, with one's Scion comrades, is something everyone should do at least once. (Same with doing Ktisis with the Ancients -- it is fantastic.) I have played many a game since the late 1970s -- none has ever brought me to tears so many times as this one has, and I adore it for that.

The 'underwater dream' bit took place in the aetherial sea, and it was Hythlodaeus' voice. Who he was talking to is answered before the end of the MSQ.

The first boss was the white armor garlean, the second was the Cape Westwind roegadyn.

when Hydaelyn does that big attack right after you destroy all the crystals (30:28), it looks just like the imagery of Hydaelyn defeating Zodiark in the wall-paintings in the Qitana Ravel dungeon - such a cool detail, it gave me shivers! :D

I love how Hydaelyn literally uses Flood of Light as an attack. lol Amon's final moments is what breaks me the most. I just feel so much for poor Hermes... Endwalker just doesn't ever stop with wrecking our hearts & souls. Pure pain & beauty. Endless feels!

Didnt expect my tears would serve as a game mechanic running the dungeon and trial. So hard to see with tears. Atiascope really hit hard because of how our deceased friends even in the underworld would still fight with us and guide us. The bond we have with them is unbreakable even after death.

This dungeon and trail were the most inpactful for me in Endwalker, i'll miss Venat so much, since she truly is a kindred soul to us as the player, ever seeking new horizons. I honestly wonder how it all will go on without Hydaelyn couse she's been such a stable existence through it all for us.

Congrats on getting to this point. This trial is a challenge, and the extreme version is really fun. I would suggest getting the Flow Orchestrion Roll off the market board, and taking a listen to the song which was behind her final words (don't use RU-vid-too many contain spoilers or are taken down quickly). It was a great send off for Venat/Hydaelyn, so bitter sweet. As she's been there with you since the beginning. This part is definitely based on Nietzsche philoshophy "God Is Dead".

I did the trial with the Scions, and it was honestly a lot easier. The NPCs (usually) know what to do and where to stand, so just following them around tends to work. I was able to get a feel for the fight without panic-healing an entire group who was getting hit by the mechanics. Now I've done it so many times that it's second-nature....and I still run around panic-healing groups getting hit by the mechanics. I'm just not getting hit with them.

My all-time favorite dungeon simply because of the callbacks to the friends you've made over the course of the journey! Then it finishes up with one final trial before you head off to the endgame. It's incredible!

Not sure if anyone mentioned this but if you do it as a trust then each of the allied spirits gets named. The first boss is Livia, but the second one was the boss from Cape Westwind.

Every time I've done the Hydaelyn trial (I main RDM) I spend the majority of my time rezzing. Or, rather, rezzing and desperately trying to conserve every bit of mana that I can since I'm constantly running dry.

If you go back through all the cutscenes can you find the moment the character switched from Anahi’s voice actor to Hermes’s impersonating Asahi? 15:25. Elpis music engage. 19:18. The line from the trailer. 24:10. Hydaelyn’s theme has always been Answers. This song is Your Answer. 25:25. Another trailer line. 30:00. Now you know what Hear Feel Think means. 30:30. That looks like the Qurans Ravel mural where she beat Zodiark. 39:20. How many people can claim to be the inspiration and source of strength for a god? 42:25. Remember when Venat explained why she didn’t return to the star? How she felt she couldn’t until until mankind could find their way and wondered if her future self was still waiting for it? We’ll, that time has come.

The easiest way to do the trial was definitely as a Tank with the Scions. I've seen it go sideways with players and with the Scions if you're a DPS etc. Tank makes it so easy weirdly cause you get to choose the positioning.

Endwalker experience: crying and sobbing once you get past Zordiak. It amazes me that even today this scenes still move me in such manner...

That boss that you fought with the two shields was the general or whatever from Cape Westwind. The joke raid now that’s super easy. Also the red stack markers, is it for the tanks. It’s a tank buster.

The trial is available to play with the Scions whenever you want-I highly recommend it! During the recent podcast YoshiP said that the programmed the Scions to do things in character for them. Y’Shtola is the inly one to do the mechanics perfectly because of course she does 😆 The EX trial is fantastic too and it gives you pre-raid BIS weapons that look amazing-highly recommend!

I did this with the Scions because did everything with them since start of Shadowbringers. Was hype to finally do this with them but was still a tough fight and almost died lol but it was so damn awsome. Although was sad to see her go but knew it had to be done sadly

Personally I always doubted her. I don't feel bad about it either because I think that's what she would have done too. She always advise us to "Hear, Think and Feel" and that's exactly what I did. Endlessly curious, always open to new ideas, she walks a different path because of how deeply she cared about people. Even if it means opposing a god or fighting the world. As her champion we'll naturally do the same. I'm so glad we got to call her Venat one last time.

Livia, the first boss, is the endboss of Castrum Meridianum, one of the last ARR dungeons where you cant scip cutscenes. Also, just as small reminder, Livia was Lucia's sister - and according to a comment from Cid, both looked very much alike: he almost called Lucia "Livia" when first meeting her ;) The staff, I first though it might've been Louixous but Papalymo makes more sense. The axe, yes, it Moenbryda. The knight... we all know who he is :) Except for Minfilia and Shiva, non of the other characters appear in form. You have to watch closely and read the flavortext that pops up. I love this dungeon: we make lots of enemies in our career as heroes and champions and warriors (I mean, how many times are we send out to kill something or someone?), but despite of that we also make lots of friends and allies :) Well, you could've done the trial together - just switch out one DPS, either Estinien, Alisea or Y'shtola. Red stackmark with 2 balls is a Tank-stackmark ;) Its so funny though... I did this fight so many times on extreme now, its funny to recognise everything again in this setting and know what it means - and remembering not knowing when first seeing it :D

The problem with 'the answer is death' is... we cannot be sure death is the end, even if everything in the universe died. Is this really the only universe? What about higher dimensions, could something be found there the basis for humanity's seemly soul-deep collective conviction that there is more?

I was slamming the screenshot button during Hydaelyns trial/cutscenes, so many awesome wallpaper oportunities.

I know free time is a scarce commodity, but if you ever have the chance, you should go back and do this and all the EW dungeons as trusts. All the Scions have different parts that they react to uniquely and even do mechanics differently and stuff. For example, here Alphy and Alis get obliterated by that first dancer attack and Estinien goes all big brtother raid leader and starts calling out mechanics that they're about to fail for them, it's super cute.

Red Stack Marker with 2 orbs means it is a shared tank buster. Your meant to solve it by putting the 2 tanks in the stack and using defensive cooldowns. It is NOT a party stack (was laughing at the tank dragging it to the party)

In this trial we got Hear feel think expanded upon to make much more sense too.

Ahhh I felt so horrible for ever doubting Hydaelyn after that Trial, though also relieved that I was wrong. You gotta go back and do the Trial with the Scions at least once though, it's a pretty awesome experience.

Hydaelyn was being cryptic not because she is an asshole (which I thought in the beginning since she always speaks in riddles) - but she wanted to avoid altering the course of history which will lead to you befriending her in Elpis I'm sorry mommy ! 😭😭

28:29 Feel like it should be said, if you aren't already informed by later content or talking with people or whatnot - That's a new marker for Endwalker, its a double-tankbuster stack marker, where the two tanks are supposed to get together to mitigate the damage... not what they did there.

Maybe someone mentioned it already, but I still laugh how Hydaelyn attack us with Floods of Light like nearly destroyed the First lol

The real crazy part of the story is hermes saved the world. He set into motion the events that lead to the sundering, and as meteion showed us the ancients pursuit of perfection would have a grizzly end. They had become arrogant and unable to handle any hardship. If left on their path without the final days and sundering, they wouldve met a similar end to the other stars that tried to erase sorrow.

Those tanks, pulling the Tank Stack marker in to the rest of the group, brutal. Tanks stack and mitigate for the red marker. Don't stack with the rest of the party.

The ultimate challenge was that they did this trial with 2 SHIELDERS

Y'shtola ... really hasn't had much character development, has she... She basically exactly the same since ARR... At least compared to everyone else as Hydaelyn points out.

This whole quest just killed me, and little did i know, that it was just the beginning of feelswalker.

i did it with the scions first to learn the mechanics then i did with my fellow WOL hehe good thing cos the scions know all the mechs lol.

You should have done it with the scions, you get a lot of extra lore that you miss otherwise if you do it with the scions
